Demi giving us the performance of her career at 61 is just so incredible and inspiring.👏🏼
wait she 61?!!!!!!!
Watched at cinema great film great performance by everyone
If she's 61 I'm fucking elmo
@@daniel-zr1oo Yup! One of the best of the year if only for its equally pastiche nods to Kubrick and Jane Fonda all in one go but especially for DM's best performance of her career to date. A true starring role if I ever saw one!
Born male. Strong jaw. Tall. Broad shoulders. Hollywood is filled with them.
Watched it yesterday and I'm STILL shook! This film was perfect, every horror fan NEEDS to see this ASAP!
Amazing. Especially that ending.
@@Serken523 The perfect ending to the wildest cinematic ride in decades! Anyone else cackle at the start over the dropped Cheeseburger?
Same! It’s been almost a day after watching it and I can’t stop thinking about it! She deserves at least an Oscar nomination, they can’t do her dirty like Toni Collette a few years back for Hereditary. Performance of a lifetime for Demi.
Meh
This was her best performance to date. Game changer role that she NAILED. She was fearless yet exceptionally vulnerable in this role. I don’t know how else to say it: she gets it!
Bingo! Hand her an Oscar ASAP, please! This is an iconic role that only she could have pulled off in this time and place!
If you leave 30 minutes early it’s great.
@@CammyHell No! The fourth act was what pushed this movie from good, all the way up to greatness. We've been gushing about it over at my horror fans group chat 😅
Demi Moore needs to be at least nominated for an award for this performance. She was amazing and this movie would’ve been lost on any other actress
Yup. Bold, daring and mostly MEMORABLE! That's what you want out of a Best Performance winner... Something you can remember for the ages... This one is it!
100%, I think the only one I would envision in this role would be Toni.
Just to put this out there, Demi Moore is around the same age now that Betty White was when she started The Golden Girls. It's amazing how much younger people look these days than they did in the 80's
Well there have been so many new cosmetic surgeries and procedures that have been developed since that time to aid in the unrealistic beauty expectations placed upon women.
Plastic surgery
I think a lot of this can be attributed to our perspective, too. We were kids (or not born yet) when Golden Girls came out, so we saw them as old ladies, as they all looked like our grandmas or great grandmas at the time.
If you look at younger Betty White, say from the Mary Tyler Moore show, she doesn't look much different from how she looks in Golden Girls. She has the same hairstyle even. We naturally see Betty White as an old lady no matter the era.
We grew up with Demi Moore, so we remember when she was hot in Ghost and G.I. Jane, and we still see that in her face. I guarantee a 12-year-old today would see Demi as an old lady.
Genes and surgery
Demi Moore started getting plastic surgery back int he 90s, so that's 30 years of plastic surgery. Betty White never had plastic surgery.
So excited for this movie. Horror gets ZERO Oscars recognition but I've only heard amazing things about her performance.
I saw it about a month ago, and I think she might get a nod, her performance is exceptional.
@@redisthecoolestcolour so hype!! You're lucky!
Except for: Sigourney Weaver, was nominated for Best Actress, in "Aliens" and Bette Davis was nominated in "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" If I am not mistaken (?). Demi Moore is an excellent Actor & so is Dennis Quaid.
All three main actors are excellent in this movie. I think Moore and Quaid have chances on nominations.
@@pamelahays-lx1to Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster won for Silence of the Lambs and it won Best Picture. It's the only horror film to win Best Picture, I believe.
She was fantastic. She needs to be nominated for an Oscar for this movie !
It's hard to believe the director of this film has only made two of them. I saw Revenge when it came out and just saw The Substance tonight and it was amazing. I can't wait to see this again!
F8ckin love Revenge, and am super pumped for this one (looove Moore)!
I like how they are talking about the movie while not giving any spoilers.
Even if one did tell what happens, you are so curious to see how it happens because the descriptions don't do it justice.
There are, sort of, they’re just brilliantly oblique about them.
They did give a few.
She's got to win the oscar for this finally!
no need to exaggerate🤣
@@jotzu9055 No hype it's worthy. Have you seen it yet? You should... Best PSYCHOBIDDY turn since Joan Crawford in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? Also got her Oscar nom's back in the day...
If the Academy respected horror, Toni Collette should've also won for Hereditary. Demi ate this role!
Demi Moore and Courtney Cox should play sisters in something.
I think she could pass for a slightly older Megan Fox
Omg, yes!
And Jennifer Connelly too.
@@orhanamin1347 her and Jennifer are both 50+. She aint playing a younger version of her. There is no reason to do a time jump of 7-8 years from 53-61 lol
The next SCREAM movie
As someone who is mortified by "eating noises" I agree with her. This movie tapped into so many fears and unsettling imagery BEFORE it went absoletuly batsh*t. In the best way. As a HUGE horror fan I can confidently say I've never seen anything like it and.... Just go see it. Also give Demi ALL of the flowers and awards.
Mortified by eating noises? Or obnoxious unnecessary eating noises? There’s a not-so subtle difference.
@@BB-ed4omthe obnoxious and/or unnecessary kind mostly.
Gave me Requiem for a Dream vibes throughout. A truly beautiful film.
Dennis Quaid eating the shrimp genuinely might be the second or third grossest thing in the movie.
I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED y'all to go this this film. I saw it almost a month ago and I can't stop thinking about it. I'm so glad I saw it with my bestie so I can randomly go: "OMG, do you remember when...." Demi is EXTRAORDINARY and this film is balls to the wall unhinged, beautiful, brutal and GORE-geous. It's insane, provocative and just sink into it - you'll have an amazing time. Please, please, please, give this film a chance, it deserves it and I think there might be an Oscar nom for Demi in it.
I'll steal it right now. About as good as you will get from me regarding movies featuring actors who were addicted to Synth and Whippits.
Legit poor person drugs. Haha what a loser
Btw I'm poor but imagine you were G.I. Jane and won Oscars before. And you do the same drugs as homeless people.
Man why even get famous
I'm likely to skip it then! Enough horror out there in real Life, right now.
i just watched it tonight and oh my goddddd was it an experience!!! my partner and i were already going "remember this part ??!" 5 minutes after we got out LOL this calls for a rewatch asap
Not everyone was hurt and bothered as a child, so not everyone will be obsessed like you.
I love to see Demi Moore thriving. And my goodness, she looks remarkably beautiful.
Demi was phenomenal in The Substance. The film is original and shocking. Dennis Quaid was disgusting eating those shrimps close up. The sound effects design should win an Oscar.
listen I have misophonia so that shrimp eating part really was incredibly horrifying
I do not have that, but having seen that scene? I get it.
How has Demi not yet been nominated for an Academy Awatd after all these years?
She’s about to be 🙌
Because... Well, it's complicated. Not being nominated for an Oscar doesn't mean by all means that one is a bad actor or not deserving to be. During the 'peak' years of her career, she rarely took part to Oscar friendly films, with the exception of Ghost and A Few Good Men. In the first case, it was a super competitive year and while the film is iconic, the performance that stands out is Whoopi's (who won). In the other, it is simply not a particularly interesting role, while she was good. I hope her un-nominated for Oscar status changes this year, hopefully the Academy embraces her performance while abandoning genre bias (sometimes, it happens).
No worries. That's about to change. 😉
This was an unexpectedly wonderful interview...& she looks perfect.
When Seth is interested (which is most often), he's the best entertainment guest interviewer of late night. (Jon Stewart is the best serious subject interviewer.)
Her dress (dress?) is so amazing and amazingly asymmetrical.. nobody else said it
She definitely deserves an Oscar for this role as well as the supporting cast and the director
Demi Moore was brilliant in Margin Call
Oooh she was!!!
You’re right!! Demi Moore is great in most things
And in Mr Brooks with Kevin Costner & William Hurt.
Totally agree, and a great film.
And in ‘If these walls could talk’. Great performance!
This is a Body Horror film, so if you are into that, you'll love it.
I remember when she was very young on General Hospital. I love you Demi!💙🫂
Demi hasn't lost a single step yet! LOVE HER!!🥰😍
Yeah who knew Synthetic Marijuana was the fountain of youth.
Who'd know that synthetic marijuana is the fountain of youth
seriously she was the perfect person to play in story about aging cuz she’s aging beautifully. from far away she seems immortal
Thoughtful questions and an easy conversation! Sounds like a badass film - can't wait to see it. Go Demi!
Give her every bunch of flowers right now.
This woman is a godess
Goddess' would not smoke synthetic marijuana. A man made drug that literal homeless people use
@@drunkpaulocosta That's a whole lot of dumb for two sentences.
How do you know what a goddess would or wouldn't do?
Almost every single drug in use today is man made so...
What is a non-literal homeless person?
Are you saying only the homeless use synthetic marijuana?
Are you implying that certain drugs are only okay for certain people?
Are you capable of providing a rational response or will you just whine that I'm being mean?
@@drunkpaulocosta she would if she wanted to
🥴 uh.
I really like her. Good to see her doing good
LOVE the correction from "is" to "are."
It was a mind-blowing experience to witness. Again and again and again and again. It took the strength out of my legs, almost like a blowout, and I felt like I fell apart, before crawling my way towards a cold and heartless finish
Don't forget about St. Elmos Fire and One Crazy Summer!
One Crazy Summer was my movie. I had been looking for that movie for years. Couldn’t find it on streaming. Im going to try to look for it again.
I choose to forget about St. Elmo's Fire!😉
@@shawnuel You mean you don't find Rob Lowe miming saxophone playing charming?😂
@@vickiep4217 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Ya know, it is actually funny how l totally love Rob Lowe now but couldn’t stand him back in the day!
Cool story... I personally think that role where she played the Synthetic Marijuana and Whippet junkie who ruined their career by never taking accountability for it and ran into hiding until people stopped gossiping.
That was possibly her magnum opus IMO. Can't remember it name but it also had that Bruce Willis guy in it. He played the father of her kids
Can we also point out this is one of the best "Psycho biddy" OR body horror films in decades... The touches of Kubrick, Cronenberg, and even vintage Joan Crawford in her Baby Jane/Straight Jacket era are all on display and rightly so!
Crazy movie especially the last 30 minutes which got really disturbing. But I really liked it and Demi should be nominated for best actress for sure.
Saw this last night and can’t stop thinking about it. I wanted to walk out but couldn’t stop watching it.
Saw the movie yesterday, the best of the year hands down.
Wow! A new clip from the film! Can’t wait for the 20th!
By far the best horror film since Hereditary IMO. Demi Moore is incredible. I saw it a few days ago and I cannot get it out of my head. It’s the kind of movie that almost ruins other films because they just don’t compare. Utterly unique, jaw dropping experience.
Her performance was incredible.
It was by far one of the most disgustingly disturbing films I’ve ever seen and I won’t forget it.
Up there with that eating scene in return of the king
This movie was unhinged and I loved it. She should get a nomination for it :)
I lovee this film and it felt so much like I was experiencing things with the character!
I just saw this tonight and it was absolutely bonkers! Demi gives a phenomenal performance. It was crazy and I loved it.
I hope people see this movie and get hooked on it like I did. It's disgusting, hilarious, weird, and just a body horror masterpiece.
Hear Demi is incredible in the movie- can't wait to see it!
It’s actually so generous that Demi is willing to be a real godmother to Mike Faist & Sophie Wilde. If I were them, I’d really appreciate that & take full advantage
The shrimp scene was the only time I had to look away. There was also one in the director's previous film, Revenge. Yech.
0:16 - 0:41
Donnie's post debate bathroom break.
This move is a MASTERPIECE. Run to see it.
We love demi moore and seth meyers
The first cackle I got was the dropped cheeseburger at the beginning of the film. That was a real tone setter...
Fan-Tastic movie!!! This is so not her as in everything else she's done, but it is SO her because she is all-in and nails the performance! Congrats!
I saw it & It's SO BEYOND phenomenal. If she Doesn't win the Oscar for best actress & the other girl for supporting actress I'll be shocked especially Demi it has to be a WIN!!!!! Xxo
She’s unbelievable in that movie!!!!!!
For me the worst scene was seeing her have her face smashed too many times on a bathroom mirror - she was amazing in it and it’s a film I still think about 3 days later so it has that affect on you
"It's time for actresses of her caliber, like Sharon Stone and others, to make a comeback."
Perfect hair... of course... 😋
That was one great movie.
Still so gorgeous
🤍 Yesss Demi!🙌
Is it Death Becomes Her 2?
Looks more gory
NO! It's "The Fly" meets "Requiem for a Dream" meets "Limitless". But more insane and unhinged.
I hoped so but it’s more horror
She was amazing!!!
I think Fred is still waiting at the Cafe
Going to see it on Friday here in Australia haven't been to cinemas for awhile don't at all really but if there's anyone who can get me too go that's Demi Moore 💯❤️💛🖤
The fact that Demi is smokin hot only adds to what this movie is saying; Coralie Fargeat is a brilliant filmmaker. Her 2017 movie Revenge is also outstanding and gross
For anyone that hasn't seen this movie, don't wait for digital releases, go watch it in the theater. Watching with other people enhances the entire experience, I promise.
GORGEOUS
Audiences have gotten tougher than they were 40years ago. The horror movies of the 70’s are hilarious.
I smell Oscar nom's for her and this film! It's shocking, lurid, disgusting, frightening, sexy and disturbing all in one go... A must see movie if there ever is one!
This woman looks incredible. Stop so being misogynistic. I mean the jealousy and envy is unbearable. Projecting much?
62! Looking goog!
She looks amazing for a 61yo woman. WOW
In this film, she is playing someone more than 10 years younger.
Loooooooved it
Whether things are happening to you or for you is a perception illusion, which depends on whether good or bad things are happening.
What people are you associating with and what bad things are they doing to you?
Thats what I keep telling the girl in my basement but she just keeps moaning about going Home and "I need water"
This generation I swear
She’s right about the shrimp scene.
Love Demi since i watched One Crazy Summer.
My 56 years old, seen hundreds of movies and I think this is perhaps the freakiest film I've ever seen. Had to look away at times. Everyone who left the auditorium was stunned at what they'd watched. Congratulations 👏👏
Can’t wait to see it
Wow she is beautiful
I LOVE the movie so much
wow this movie was great . best horror movie i have seen in a long time! i just adore demi. wait till u see how it ends tho. i wasnt expecting that , at all! sooo much blood

Great work on the face Demi! You still look like your real self.

UGH god what a fkn iconnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Are we going to just ignore how hot Demi looks?
AMO
She’s incredible and I can’t wait to see it /
She had me laughing so hard when she transformed into the first old lady, the way she glared into the mirror lol
My fav movie with Demi is About Last Night. As a couple, Rob Lowe & Demi were too beautiful as a couple. Can you imagine if they had a child together?
Real easy to give life advice when you have hundreds of millions of dollars good health an awesome body and every connection in Hollywood
It was so good. It’s a fucking must-see. Demi KILLS IT she is SO GOOD
I could not find work as a woman over 5o! I love this film as it tells the truth❤
You look precious Demi
GUAPA DEMI ❤❤❤
I think the film reminds me of manga by Junji Ito
