The MTA brought this huge mess down on themselves during the pandemic...A major part of MTA's problems start from the top...Critical thinking is needed when in charge of any type of business... Management seems to be disconnected from the rank and file...For example this past Sunday the 7 train did not go into Manhatten it stopped at Queensboro Plaza and went back to Flushing Main St...Why would they do this on a Sunday?? The entire platform upper and lower at Queensboro Plaza was packed beyond allowable capacity!!! It was a nightmare as usual...Management/Supervision is the cause of many of the MTA's problems...They just don't get it....They spoiled the people when they waived the fare during the pandemic..Now they want people to pay a fare that has increased since the pandemic...And those Security Gaurds that Management hired to deter subway fare evaders is a JOKE!!! People are still evading the fare right in front of them...The Gaurds just pretend they don't see it...What a waste of tax payer dollars...This is just another DUMB idea from Management/Supervision....
