    I have the DK Modern Eureka Mist 7 string and it is the best guitar I've ever played. I think a lot of guys are more into Ibanez, LTD or Scheter but I personally love these guitars. I wish they came in other colors for the fanned fret 7 string version but can't complain. Hope Jackson continues to make them.

    I'm probably going to check one of those out on Thursday...that guitar is deceptive...I saw one a while back in a music store and didn't even pick it up...not because it was a Jackson, but because in the cover band I play in, I need a pretty versatile guitar...it's got to do LP, modern humbucker, strat, tele...and when I saw it, I was like "wow, I like how those look, but it's probably not going to do what I need it to do...", but then I saw some videos with guitars equipped with Fluence open core pickups with a 5 was switch, and when I did, I wish I would have taken a closer look, and tried one out...thanks for the video, and hope you and yours are doing great.

    You’re right. I never see them around.
    I think CORT and ESP LTD have similar offerings but I don’t see those around either.

    As a Jackson Dinky DK player of over 20 years I think it has to do with the “Modern” take of the Dinky body where the slanted body would where as these ones are all Sand blasted and the body is contoured to look like it has bevels or arch top not sure what they were going for there. The modern body im just not digging it.

      The finish makes it unattractive in my opinion. If I bought one I would have to get it painted a solid color but that would add half the price of the guitar onto the total. I do think it’s a great guitar but I do not care for that finish.

      @@timjenkins502 ehhh i don't want to flame them- they accepted the returns without question. what i learned is that it's hard for some retailers to double box these because of the unique size of the factory jackson box. i wound up getting ANOTHER one that ALSO had a mashed headstock tip- but i bargained with the seller and got some money off and kept it. it wasn't too bad. if you're a foot away you could probably see it isn't razor sharp at the tip, but from 10-12 feet away, i doubt it's noticeable. i recently got another one and it was also shipped single boxed but arrived in perfect condition.
      one of the complaints i've seen about this guitar is that the pickups don't seem to be entirely metal focused, given that they are the open core fishman's rather than the fishman moderns. i think they work just fine and sound pretty good.

    I own one of these and I think I can speak to this. I'm not an expert by any means but before this I owned a first run Fender American Professional Strat which I have since sold unfortunately. The fit and finish on the fender completly blows that jackson away for only $100 more (at the time). Sure the strat doesn't have the same level of high end electronics and hardware, but even compared to other guitars I have played in that price range and even cheaper jacksons, this one just dosent feel as good to me. Though I will say, this jackson is the best sounding guitar I have ever heard in that price so I guess it depends on what matters more the the person buying it.

    For one, that guitar goes for over 1k. Secondly, when you think Jackson you think of any body model other than the Dinky. And thirdly, the "insecurities" of the consumer. You don't see people playing live with flashy guitars often, maybe they will buy those fancy models to play at home or studio but not to "show off" on stage, which is sort of the same mindset as "you don't want to be seen playing a cheap brand guitar".

    • @timjenkins502
      @timjenkins502  Год назад +2

      I really wouldn't consider this a flashy or fancy guitar tbh, pretty basic in looks honestly. And when I got mine they were $1099. But from poor lack of sales you can find them discounted for under 1k. I've played this one live, ESP , kiesels, gibsons ect.so this guitar at this price point is actually just a mid level guitar for me.

    • @D14V0R05
      @D14V0R05 Год назад +1

      @@timjenkins502 Unless the guitar is of a plain single color or at most two tone sunburst then it is somehow "flashy", even if the body shape is an X or V. Also as mentioned above, every brand has their best seller models and often new models with an innovative finish will be overlooked and even discontinued within a year.

    I have one I. I think the fact that you can get stainless frets for what they where asking, ash is an off sounding tone wood, not everyone likes the sand blasted finish, actives aren't everyone's thing, jackson has ruined their reputation with sub par Indonesian crap for years, just to name a few reasons. That said I like mine. Wish it was mahogany though and stainless frets. However my best shred guitar in my arsenal.
