I'm not African nor African descent, but my bff is South African and Ugandan. (Both very successful women)
African hospitality, is far better than Asian hospitality. Africans give without expecting anything in return, genuine people.
And Africa has beautiful landscape and wildlife.

Hello Ashley - my comment is to say that life is mysterious and you now being there to reveal your story, did not happen by chance. By this I mean to say that fate/destiny transported your ancestors to other regions of the world, this time as slaves, as that what was intended to get to this moment, when after centuries of torments, you were pushed to learn, be educated and to see that due to the color of your skin, you would never cease to be mistreated, and then it dawned upon you that your soul needed to feel the welcoming energies of the roots, that enlightened you to embrace and promote the return to Mother Africa of her long lost children. You also need to understand that now is the moment, after over 60 years of Africa gaining independence, that fate agin plays the role of opening the minds of people like you to start on journeys of quest to discover the new avenues that only recently began to open by the initiatives being taken to welcome and embrace those in far off lands to return home to Mother Africa, as now the governments finally realized that those that are considered as DIASPOREANS - who were despised and unwelcome in Africa are now to be welcomed with friendliness and open arms, as the experience the bring will contribute to make our homeland, the land of the ORIGIN od present day HUMANITY into as I have often claimed THE CONTINENT OF THE FUTURE - where residents in each country, will join hands with the newcomers to jointly reap the benefits, which until now are being used to benefit foreign entities. So good luck to you in following this dream of yours, which I share since my history to return to Mother Africa and give back the knowledge that I acquired in my lifetime is similar, in the sense that SHE needs me to thank her for having given me the sacred gift of being born on her soil...

It seems crazy to me that young people would continue to struggle in the West. They have seen their grandparents and parents struggle with low salaries, second class status, and blatant discrimination. Africa can offer opportunities and everything needed to thrive. Go home for a visit to see if it's for you and do it soon because the Chinese, Europeans, and Lebonese are already there.

So can they in the US. It's a cultural difference in some regions.. You try to exceed in school, you get torn down. You try to better yourself, you're not seen as cool. You try to learn an instrument, it's not seen as cool. You don't try to fight to defend yourself, you're not seen as manly and so you fight and land in jail and begin a record. It's unfortunate.

@@Volcanic_Eruption Hi! Why don't you or your husband look at teaching English online? There are so many youtube videos about this and you can start. Some people make about $2000/month on this. From there, you can save enough and move anywhere you want to in Africa, still teaching online. So there is a source of income coming in, while you live in several countries to decide where to permanently migrate to.

I would like to see a open discussion on and with the African countries that played a big part in slavery a part that never discuss with Americans of African dissent in the United States. I have relatives through marriage from Kenya and Nigeria they talk about the part theirs country played in slavery. The part I disagree will want to concern African-Americans is that they see themselves as one peoples from one country instead of many people from a continent. Who came to the United States with different cultures and language and even religion. The African that played a part in the Selling of other Africans did not look at them as one of them all their peoples.
