      One, this person never said anything g was her fault and two plus size models don’t exist? Also, they said “should’ve” past tense, they’re talking about when she was younger and if you saw the pictures of her throughout the video you’d know she was skinnier too.

      That might not have worked out to be an escape. There's LOTS of sexual exploitation and abuse in the modeling industry too.

    • @jasminevaliente96
      @jasminevaliente96 6 лет назад +19

      @@samsonright936 she wasnt plus size before though. The modeling industry is very specific about what they want. 5'2-5'5 are commercial models but cant be over 115 or under 90 pounds. 6 feet to be a high fashion model and cant be over 125 pounds. They're also strict about breast and hip size. I dont remember the run down measurements but remember being told my 32DDs were way to big to be a high end model but I was too tall to do commercial modeling. Not to mention its expensive to start training unless you're one of the severe rare ones snatched up by some scout. It is not easy at all or realistic for a teen with no parental support to sign permission for bank accounts, jobs, etc. Meanwhile the model industry is just as bad as the sec industry.

    • @GirlandTheWord
      @GirlandTheWord 6 лет назад +25

      Rips and Rants - You can't be metaphorically forced into sex work. You can choose to go into it out of circumstances or out of your own occupational fulfillment. But videos like these allow us to see a fuller picture of the sex industry. You might not have a broken background as she does, but many women in the sex industry do. It shouldn't be a glorified option because it lends these women to being further abused, emotionally and physically.

Sometimes you don't have someone to talk to but you have your faith and religion and it helps you look to the bright side of life. • @shahn.3981

      I agree 100%. It’s really unfair to just bash religion or religious individuals, because you never know how exactly they got there. Sure, you have your people who were raised with their set of beliefs, but there’s still plenty who have gone through many struggles and need to be involved with God. I’ve met all sorts of people, just in my school’s church, who, for one reason or another, NEEDED to be there: Even one or two of our own teachers.
      Point being: don’t bash anyone’s motivation for getting themself out of a bad situation. The important thing is that they have found help, support, and the knowledge that they CAN help themselves.

      You do realize that trauma is an emotional response to an experience that is distressing. That means that trauma can come from anything from the death of a family member to watching a news report of a school shooting. EVERYONE will experience trauma at some point in their lives, we all just deal with it differently. I bet all your memories are not good memories and thinking about those memories causes you stress aka TRAUMA

    I don't understand why people actually act surprised that BuzzFeed is showing the bad side of the sex industry. BuzzFeed has always championed feminism. People always assume feminism is only obsessed with sex. No. It's concerned with giving women a *choice* and sometimes that choice is stripping sometimes it's not being violated by customers. It doesn't make them less valuable and vice versa.

      Worldwide Handsome this is false, judging people is something that everyone does naturally. Even if it’s judging people positively it’s still judging. Everyone will always judge others regardless of what people say or do to prevent it

      It's human nature to judge people; it would take more effort not to judge, if not being outright impossible. Positive judgement is still judgement.

      Buzzfeed is laughable. Their “journalists” all contradict each other, they’ll publish literally anything and on many occasions have been found to be misinformed. Hey, as long as it’s someone who’s disabled, a minority, or LGBTQ+, they can have a job there. They matter more than everyone else and their opinion is worth 10x more.

    Some women strip because they want to earn some extra money and take care of themselves. Some women strip because they have no other choice. No matter what the situation is,we are not in the position to judge sex workers because of their profession.

      A you say sex work is wrong but I bet you 20 bucks you watch porn. Its not wrong. Its a way of making money. Maybe some women like the attention. Maybe others just need the quick cash. You have to seriously respect your body if youre going to work in a field where you are constantly naked or near naked. I guess we gotta shame people who model for artists too, then. They have no shame! Undressing so people can get in basic anatomy drawing! No respect!

      reuben mathew to be honest a lot of the dislikes are probably coming from sex workers. This video perpetuates the narrative that this is what it's like for all sex workers and gives people a reason to try and sanction our jobs or take our rights away because it's "dangerous"

      I'mSmarterThanYou No one should shame sex workers because I understand y’all do it for money because you have no other option. But I agree with the original comment and that you shouldn’t glorify sex industries to be something great, most people are in the industry because they have to. You should work to get out and go to college or get a job and follow your dreams. Again..no ones shaming you because y’all have to do what y’all have to do, but glorifying it makes it seem amazing when you should strive for more like this woman.

    • @imsmarterthanyou3963
      @imsmarterthanyou3963 6 лет назад +27

      natalie Why do you assume stripping is my only option? It's because of videos like these. To tell you a little bit about me I grew up in an upper middle class family, my parents are still married and I have NEVER suffered or struggled in any way. At 22 I was working as an assistant in an accounting office making $700 a week working 5-6 days a week for 8-12 hours a day. I HATED MY LIFE. What I was doing was not fulfilling and my job was eating up most of my time and energy. I had been to a strip club before as a guest with friends and I loved the idea that as a stripper you can make your own hours, be your own boss, interact with who you CHOOSE to interact with and make the same amount in a day as I was in a week. I strip because it is the best lifestyle for me. I started as an adult and I chose to go into the industry. I payed for my education entirely by myself and even though now I am graduated I STILL CHOOSE to dance full time because it is a wonderful opportunity and I love it. Everyone's experience in the sex industry is DIFFERENT. It's terrible what happen to this woman... but this does not represent all of us is the point I'm trying to make.

    • @imsmarterthanyou3963
      @imsmarterthanyou3963 6 лет назад +19

      natalie and the line "I understand y'all do it for the money" is just getting old at this point. ANYONE WHO DOES ANY JOB DOES IT FOR THE MONEY. Did you just discover people work in exchange for money? I just choose to make mine taking my top off and flipping upside down on a pole rather than sitting behind a desk all week miserable listening to someone else bark orders at me.
