Awesome review! It would be interesting to have a Z950 H.O EX 2022 to review aswell. They updated and improved the shocks, updated interior, much easier service, upgraded their engine power to 90hp. they now have 3 versions of them, the Z950 like in the video with 80hp, Z950 H.O with 90hp, and Z950 H.O EX with 90hp but longer and wider wheelbase.

I was waiting for your review. Got a chance to move a couple of them around but without any high speed stuff, and even got to help put one together. Throttle input was a negative in close quarters but out in the open was fine. Not a fan of the outer space look and the interior was comfortable so my impressions are mixed. The machine was well put together so as far as quality goes I agree with Dirt Trax in the build quality department. I'm not a SXS guy and own a bunch of 3 and 4 wheelers and a couple of trailers and plows. From what I can understand about the SXS market, for the right price it would be a good machine. Maybe a suspension upgrade would be in order if you rode balls to the wall most of the time. Otherwise, after uncreating the machine, wrenching on all the components, adding a battery and gas, the thing fired up instantly and idled smooth. When you hit the throttle it gave me the RPM'S I wanted. It's your wallet, big name, newer entry, or the used market?

Got to say u did a good fair review I applause u for that. I love the ride of mine very comfortable but I can also see where there can be some improvements. I don't do high speed trail riding, I do alot of crawling, creek bed riding and technical trails (and some mud) so the high speed trail and cornering I definitely take ur word on that. If I was going to be doing high speed trail riding I'd go with talon or can am x3. My trails are rough and 30mph and below, we got a few where we can air it out but I'm not about the high speed. I guess that's why I love my 950 so much is how torquey it is off the peddle and how hard it pulls on the hills and technical trails. It should be considered if ur doing technical trails not considered if high speed trails (will be disappointed) I'll definitely take ur word on that one. I've added alot to mine and tuned the clutch more it's (heck of alot better mid and high range now but still no X3 🤣 but that's a different class.

Has been driven very easy, so far been back at dealer for clutch issue, fuel gauge intermittent inop , now goes back tomorrow for fuel gauge inop , and no acceleration, accel pedal does nothing it just idles, so hope this is just new model issues they will get fixed , overall I like it . The Z-950 is one of the vehicles on our list to start building our exclusice Hester Edition Elka shock packages, we hope to have all 5 stages for all budgets and riders demands, all of our HE Elkas are of custom length to maximize potential in every machine with more wheel travel, more adjustable ride height and custom 2 stage high and low speed valving stacks to make it ride like no other. We like the Z-950 as a whole, add 30-32" tires and change the wheels (agree on the blah wheels) right out of the gate for great improvment, more so in crawling. It has great potential, and once the shocks are out we'll have some videos, will be available in US and Canada. Always love DT reviews, maybe someday you can come back to this Z-950 with a few add ons and see how good it can really get.

Feel free to get with us for more info! I would even love to get with Dirt Trax on a set so they can test once done to show how massive the change is on this vehicle with a perfect shock on it!

There are some features I really like about this Z950. I knew it was coming, but I bought the ZForce 1000 in the spring anyway. A big part of that was because I thought it looked better. Regarding that "love it or hate it" look, I actually now fall somewhere in between and can't quite figure out if I love it or hate it. It has grown on me and I still haven't seen one in person.

Make sure to pull your air cleaner, there in a bad location and a very poor design.
      It will kill your engine.
I work for a cf dealership.
One thing about the 950 is that it's actually the 1000 but because it is underpowered they put it into the 950cc class.
So yeah the 950 is the 1000 same exact engine, also one thing not mentioned is the 950 has absolutely no leg room no where yo stretch out and the seat is super skinny even a skinny guy will feel really snug in it.

I'm in Southern Utah (sand dune capital). I have the only 950 in the area. I ride the dunes all the time. And I found that it likes to sink in the soft Sand Hollow blow sand, and the fine sand at Coral Pink Sand Dunes. I've needed to air down to get more flotation. I think some slightly bigger tires would be nice. It has a lot of power in the sand though. You can run dunes in 4-high or 4-low (non diff-lock). I've found that it bounces a bit in the sand when hitting other tracks from other machines, like it's squirrely. But it has no trouble keeping up speed and running dunes.

Excellent review. I am trying to decide between the CFMoto and the Polaris RZR 1000 Trails and Rocks. The price of the CF Moto and the reviews make it very tempting. My big negative is that the nearest dealership is 2-3 hours away, and if I needed repairs or warranty work it would be very i inconvenient. The $10,000 savings keeps it in my options though.

I purchased the zforce 950 sport. I agree that the suspension is stiff. I let them out almost full and that seems to be much better. I also put 32" tires on it so that definitely helps. I removed the kill switch by taping it in the on position and putting it behind the panel. I added new side mirrors with led lights and put the switch in the spot the kill switch was. One of the factory mirrors broke the first time out and cfmoto would not warranty it. As far as value in Canada you can't beat it. Oh and it kills the polaris 80hp so it think that's not the correct match. HP isn't the reason to put it in the same class. Mine is snorkeled and unstoppable. I haven't gotten stuck yet. I'll post videos soon. Good review.

I know its a year after the fact but figured this would be a good follow up to this thread. I purchased the very 1st Zforce 950 Sport sold in North America back on July 3rd of 2020. That's it in the pic on its side. Thankfully we tipped it gently and there was very little to no damage at all. Slight blemish on the black plastic side fairing that was made invisible with a heat gun. I just turned 4k miles on it recently. Changed the factory OEM belt at 3700 miles and it looked like it still had a few hundred left on it. I have not had a single issue with this machine....and do all the routine maintenance myself. To say the least.....its been the most reliable machine I've ever owned....and one of the most enjoyable. I will eventually buy a newer one.....but will never give this one up. It'll sit in my garage under a cover long after I'm too old to ride any longer.

Ran into this bike completely by mistake and I have to say this is the most heartbreaking machine I've ever seen. It has so much promise, and so many amazing features, but seems to be lacking in the things that matter most such as the ride quality and power. Still, seems like it's a better bang for the buck than the rzr S models, and it combines suspension features similar to the XP1K. If it comes with what looks like factory horn/turn signal kit that's a huge plus too. I'd be in for it if it were a little wider, better riding and more powerful.

But I can barely ever get over 40 mph on most any trails. And it crawls over everything I point it at. Great machine for the money really.

Although you were honest in your review, you did seem to be hooked on horsepower or lack of it, I have to say most trails i would take the CFmoto or other sidexside"s on do not require speed but strength of chassis build, capability on hill climbs and muddy terrain. I wish we could focus a little more on how these sidexside are used by most of us in the real off road world. That said it did look good whipping around on the fire road. Thx.

That's why I went with the CFmoto uforce 800 EPS LX. It's great on the trails, it's comfortable on long rides as well. I bought mine for trail riding and also for deer hunting. The amount of stuff you can carry is amazing. I can load it up and go camping for the weekend in just the machine itself. Extremely fuel efficient to for a 1400 lbs machine.

    • @wickedmainah950
      @wickedmainah950 3 года назад +2

I actually just bought the 950 sport, I admit the look is a little funky but it looks better in person. Also once you add the rear storage box it fills that area and the lines flow better. Kind of reminded me of a pickup truck with a flat bed without the box. There lower door panels are also a must have for looks and to keep the mud off. Im a big guy and stock the suspension is a little stiff so ill be playing with that to find a sweet spot. Even at stock settings its not bad, not jarring at all but could be more plush. Performance wise this thing feels like a rocket to about 45 or 50 mph, in my riding areas thats what I like, very few areas you can blast 70 plus mph. Now in maine this sells for 12999, imo its a alot of machine for the money. Yes the rzr 1000 performs better out of the box but its also 5g more and its not much better. Really if your looking to get a side by side I suggest you try one out, you may be surprised.
