The rear splash guards are a great idea to keep , as your dad would say "keep the chocolate out " The suzuki atvs and the polaris atvs and older can am 570s are open at the front wheels so the radiator collects what the tires throw in there . Also F150s are like that as well . Cf moto and can am and ram pick ups have splash protection for the rads and thats a big selling feature for me. Great introduction of the 950 great video Thanks for your time
CF Moto is definitely upping their game. I have a friend who drilled small holes on his roof rain channel and ran hoses down the a-pillars so the water drains down rather than having the wind splash the water on the driver and passenger. It works like a charm. Only time will tell if they're durable. I'll wait until I start seeing people with machines that have 5-10,000 km on them with no major problems before I'd consider buying one though.
Honestly comes down to the frame and everything else, if I could fit a proper Kawa, Honda or cam am motor in after for let's say up to.5k for a used it probably wouldn't be a bad purchase, like you said if it can atleast get 10k out of it. The real test will be frame strength, suspension & general durability
I know a couple people who went the CF Moto route. Specifically the 600 U- Force. Can’t speak to long term reliability but for the price you get a pile of stuff above and beyond every other manufacturer and, in Canada, a 5 year powertrain warranty…. To get a 600cc SxS with 5 year warranty and all the add ons CF Moto equips them with for $13,000 Canadian plus tax that’s a pretty decent deal…. I’m still on the fence and would buy a different brand today but if they hold up I would definitely consider one in the future!
Without a doubt they have stepped up big time. That buggy as far as what the video shows fit and finish looks to be better than most cars on the road let alone an off-road vehicle. The wheel well protection is something desperately needed on every off-road machine. I’ve been seeing the oems getting some things wrong quite often but it looks like cfmoto has hit a home run with this!
Just bought one myself and so far so good. The bumper on front is not factory equipped that is the upgraded one. Also front half and rear window are upgrades now so there not included as it was shown. The upgraded snorkle kit is also a bit of a joke as it does not include the belt air out snorkle. So anything above tire deep is going into belt compartment. Had to plumb my own one up to be safe.
Are your front lower forward A-arm bushing grease zerks on top or bottom? Mine on a '23 are on the bottom and are not greasable with the 8mm skid plate on, and the bottom of an A-arm is a really dumb place to put a grease zerk if you want to get it torn off by a rock or tree.
That rear box is pretty slick. CFMoto has been doing their homework. I've been seeing more CFMoto dealers popping up so getting parts and service is probably getting better.
At 10:15 the video states the trunk lid limits putting tall stuff in the back and noted that it probably isn't a big deal because most people do that which is true however, anther thing to note, is that at 9:57 you'll see the whole trunk is removable and the underside that remains is fully finished out for people who want to put taller stuff in it or just prefer it open. So you can have your cake and eat it too if you want to leave it off and go collect firewood or whatever, just another Easter egg feature from CD Moto
Nice not to hear the regular CFmoto bashing. Now that they are a contender to the big guns, I guess the bashing days are over. Close minded buyers allow themselves to miss out on these great machines at better prices. Cfmoto has arrived. Live with it! They offer a great lineup of products. Their 2024 motorcycle lineup is leaving the competition lacking! Yes I have a 2022 Cforce 600 touring and love it.
yeah im on the fence to get one because everyone keep saying its not reliable, how true is that ? well i dont know but for the price you do get a nice machine..
Glad to see you mention the intake locations. Would love for you to keep that up with ATV's too. Out east after a heavy rain, a normal puddle spot can be very deep for a week. And knowing where intakes are before dopping your Jing is great pre purchase info.
I think the styling has gotten better its a nice car, certainly better than having the silly "rockets" I think the CF Moto is a reliable machine my friend has one, not a 950, but its been a tough SxS. It isn't a Polaris or other big brand, but for the bargain it gives just as much fun.
Wow! I'm impressed. I've only been looking at Yamaha or CanAm. I'm thinking about going CFMoto. Been watching people on the trails with them and they do just as good as anyone else. I'm looking to buy one this year hopefully and as of now, it will most likely be CFMoto.
Great overview guys. I have Arctic Cats, but I’m a Minnesota guy, so they’re in my backyard. That said, a couple relatives have CF Moto SXSs and they’ve been good units. Just given the price, if I was in the market for a SXS, I would give CF Moto a hard look.
The Mud.. on the windows and up the back.. is a pain. Be ready to get mud everywhere. I've been driving in my Cousins and They need bigger mud flaps.. 100% bigger mud flaps. He put a 2inch lift on it and It's been super hard to get any after market stuff.. Goes like stink! We had it top out at 129kmph Winch was super impressive and It was stable a that speed.
I'm going to bet the design of the rear suspension aims to keep the wheel geometry in check throughout the suspension travel. My pro XP for example, the toe gets thrown way outta whack at full droop. That extra linkage here likey prevents that.
I think Pete Hager has a video riding a trx450r with 5 link front suspension and he explains a lot of the advantages of it. Mostly better motion ratios, more durable, and so on and so forth. I can't tell if this is similar to that or not
I've been looking at this and a used RMAX. I can get a slightly used RMAX2 1000 for about $2k (US) more than the CFMOTO. I'm leaning heavily toward the RMAX.
My friend has a CF Moto SxS not a 950, but it has been reliable overall it's a good machine for the money, however in your situation, and choice, please choose the Rmax I really don't think you'll be disappointed. I have been riding my Polaris 900 and it's getting long in the tooth, I recently had a chance to look at a Yamaha in person and see it run I think the difference is night and day.
I have a 2021 Rmax2 LE and it has 4k miles on it. It's never needed anything but oil changes. It's no speed racer, but it rides excellent and will do anything I ask of it. The quality and reliability of Yamaha products is hard to beat, but you do pay plenty for that quality.
May be different but CFMoto USA says 85hp and 65lbft. Which really is plenty for the 950 sport. For a trail machine I would prob take this over the competition.
The fit and finish is good enough, I would probably pick this over a Polaris at this point. Looking at what the Blog guys are doing on their track, reliability is to the point its as good as the big 3. The only two things I really dislike, the always on headlights and oil change design. That prorated warranty is a little misleading, but not a deal killer. I really think this is going to be my next machine next year.
Front bumper that wraps around headlights is an option , factory just goes under lights. We purchased one of these units this spring we love it, just turned 2500 kms on it yesterday
Are the grease zerks on the top of the front lower forward A-arm bushings? On my 2023 the front lower forward bushing zerks are on the bottom and I cannot grease them with the skid plate on and they would be susceptible to damage without the skid plate. I think that's a manufacturing error and hopefully warranty.
Great overview as usual . Cool machine w tons of features, but I don’t know , i think after first ride w friends w Polaris and Can-Am machines I would have the ole “thought it was good idea to buy sneakers from wal-mart” buyers remorse again
I think the pricing is competitive in this class, but the whole class is priced high. I do really like this machine though. Would like to have it longer term to really test out durability and maybe upgrade the shocks and tires.
I am very interested in this CFmoto zforce950 sport and the new yamaha wolverine x2 1000. I currently have an arctic cat wildcat sport and am looking to upgrade. Which machine would you recommend? I trail ride mostly in Kentucky and Tennessee.
The rear suspension geometry is different than the Maverick and this unit is 85hp so a bit less than the xxc. I don't think it fully resembles a Mav, but looks are subjective.
2023 is pretty much identical and there is NO heat issue whatsoever. Actually I was thinking of how to get more heat in the cab when it's only a few degrees above freezing temp here in Alberta in October.
I have a first gen 950, been reliable. Turning radius is bad and suspension is pretty stiff. I might go check a gen 2 out. For the money the moto is a good deal
A standard cooler will not fit in the trunk, the trunk is only 10.5 inches deep, my only complaint on mine so far, my 23 didn't come with horn hazards or turn signals or bumper i got ripped off here in the states
I just paid $400 for the full windshield and $280 for the side mirrors (US) the rear view mirror is about $130 I was told. I don't know about the rest of the stuff.
That red z950 sport in my profile picture is a 2020 sport. I purchased it new in early July of 2020. It was the very first zforce 950 sold in North America. It currently sits with almost 5700 miles on the odometer. I bought it in the midst of Covid when cfmoto was giving a pandemic promotional 2 year warranty with their new machines in the states. Not one warranty claim ever. Only time I ever had it back at the dealer was for the fuel injection recall which was nothing more than checking to make sure the injection nozzles were seated securely. They were. Everything on the machine is still the original parts including the brake pads, wheel bearings and suspension bushings. Only a belt change at 3700 miles that I opted for and an upgrade to Elka stage 2 shocks this past spring. Its been the most reliable recreational vehicle I've ever owned.....and I'm 59 and have owned machines all the way back to the 70's when I rode Honda Enduro's as a teenager. I've since bought a 23 Uforce 600 utility sxs......and like it as well but will never get rid of the z950. Can't put a price on a dependable machine.
How is the engine heat in the cab? I'm looking at possibly getting the 950 Sport 4 when it comes out. I don't want to have to spend $$ just to keep the heat down in the cab.
My 2023 does have this problem somewhat, you sometimes have to jerk yourself forward to rock the machine while pulling back on the gear lever (even sometimes on what I would consider level ground). If it's a bit steeper you need someone to push from the outside, this just happened to me. Wish there was an e-brake. Also sometimes when you put it in park it's not really in park, you have to again jerk a bit while pushing forward on the lever and then it fully goes into park.
Cfmoto plays with the fuel path logic in their ECM's from machine to machine. The z950 H.O. models also have the 963cc V twin engine and those boast 90hp. These 950 G2 sports are rated at 85hp. The 963cc V twins that come in the Overland 1000's and Uforce 1000's are rated at 79hp.....as did the 2020 thru 2022 z950 G1 sports.
@@justinmochi7323I'm sure you could....but the price you'd pay for an ECM out of another model....and then extra for the re-tune it would need. You'd be cheaper and further ahead to send your stock ECM out for a performance tune.
I have been waiting to buy a 2024 model because I understood that they were bringing back the handbrake. Though It doesn't seem like this '24 model has one. What's up with that? There has been so much backlash on social media about issues with parking it on a hill and leaving it in park damaging transmissions. I thought CFMoto listened to their customers and corrected their blunder.
It looks like the model being reviewed is a ‘23. I got a ‘24 and it has a handbrake. Also, on the ‘24 they changed the black paint job (nebula black) a bit. Looks cleaner in my opinion. Doesn’t have the grey around “zforce” and red paint accents. The springs are still red though which I still like.
@@dirttraxtv I know you like the RMAX and you've driven that and the new gen2. The CFMOTO is a compelling package and value. I'm still leaning used RMAX.
the problem with this model 5hp less plus its not big man certified 6-1 290 its smaller the the ho950 the sport has 85hp n the ho ex has 90hp but the smaller sport with 5 less hp will out run the 90hp bigger ho
The problem is no e brake on this machine. Cf Moto is installing e brake free of charge, got mine done. Big problem is after installation of the e brake system, the brake pedal is low and spongy. This is a complaint by most who have had it installed
They’re getting better with style but the Chinese can’t seem to come up with a cool name that will attract westerners. like c’mon “Z force”🤣 sounds like a power ranger… also I’m pretty sure it’s a Chinese rebadged Can-Am Maverick or it’s a reverse engineered copy. Then there’s the Segway “Fugleman” 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Cfmoto seems to be doing alright with their KTM partnership and the motors they build for KTM at the cfmoto factory in China. And recently they just partnered with Yamaha motor in Asia. It is now called CF Yamaha motor. I'm not comparing cfmoto to Can Am in any way shape or form....but if I'm a company looking to partner with another company for my 2 wheeled motorcycle line. I'm certainly not going with Can Am or Polaris. I was riding dirt bikes in the 70's when Can Am attempted that market niche. Needless to say it didn't go well. Just sayin.
@@jimmydesperado2936 I've been eyeing the IBEX 800 and I like the fact the engine in it is just a CFMOTO branded KTM engine. That means if I wanted to put a Rekluse clutch in it all I'd have to do is buy one for a KTM 790 Adventure. :)
@@MonkeyKing_1 my bad sir, you are spot on, the G2 950 trails are 85 now. The G1 Z950 are still 79hp and 90hp respectfully with the standard and HO models. Wonder when they will get the bump in power also.
Please drive the vehicles more and stop dubbing music over all of the footage, None of us want to hear your copyright safe music we want to hear the vehicle in question’s engine/exhaust, we also don’t want to hear just your voice as you walk around the vehicle we want POV footage and we want to see the thing operate, Dirt tracks is very lucky that off-road reviewers are few and far between because your approach to these reviews is piss poor. Wow. Just wow. Go watch another channel…. This is a “walk around” video bud. They’ll provide a test drive with this machine in the future. @@dirttraxtv no worries. You guys do a great job but I had to unsubscribe quite a while ago because of it. I just stumbled on to this one. Didn't even watch it.
So they are just suppose to completely ignore the fact that these machines are that good? Check all the stuff you use and 80 percent of it is from China. No way around it..
i purchased the 950 trail gen 2 and honestly I regret it. These machines have some weird quirks..... headlights cannot be turned off, and its not possible to replace bulbs. the headlight is a one piece assembly and it costs a fortune. Reverse is governed to around 23km/hr and has absolutely no power, so trying to back out of a mudhole is lousy with it. moving from forward to reverse after coming to a stop "clunks" bad when applying throttle initially. I try feather the gas as much as possible after coming to a stop for fear of snapping something with the sound it makes. and I hate the fact that these still use greaseable bushings.... everything new and modern in todays world is a sealed bushing and much more reliable. I let the price tag on the machine beat my gut feeling.
Unfortunate side being it's still Chinese. A CF with 1500km feels like a polaris with 7500km. They wear, fade and fall apart, FAST. Being a dealer that sees LOADS of used units, this has proven more and more true over the last few years and the common CFs start to age. Unfortunate, but true
Whats the name of your dealer? My 2020 has 5700 miles on it....and I've yet to experience any of those things. Just curious if this is an actual review coming from your own personal experience....or one you are getting from a Can Am owner whose brother's sister's boyfriend had.
@jimmydesperado2936 the name of my dealership doesn't concern you tbh. I see over 2000 new CF moto units leave anually being the largest CF moto dealer in Canada. Our used department and warranty department deal wirh HELL when it comes to cf moto. They'll last if you baby the crap out of them but sure as heck do not stand the test of time in any real riding situations
@@MrBpritch100 - so you are the largest CF MOTO dealer in Canada on a YT comments section BASHING the hell out of CF Moto quality. Sure - I believe you. SMH
All these extra features and seemingly great value. Yet the quality long term is still VERY cheap and poor. NOT A HIGH QUALITY SXS. 2000km and every single thing rattles, doors do not close or even open without a battle, they rattle like a bat outta hell too. Thing shifts like an absolute donkey between gears, steering wheel has loads of play in the column, shocks settled beyond belief....CF MOTO HAS NOTHING BUT COUNTRY MILES TO GO IN QUALITY AND BUILD-MANSHIP TO ECEN COMPARE TO THE TOP FEW BRANDS.
The rear splash guards are a great idea to keep , as your dad would say "keep the chocolate out "
The suzuki atvs and the polaris atvs and older can am 570s are open at the front wheels so the radiator collects what the tires throw in there .
Also F150s are like that as well .
Cf moto and can am and ram pick ups have splash protection for the rads and thats a big selling feature for me.
Great introduction of the 950 great video

The hazard light button to the left of the four-wheel drive select button is a four-wheel drive override button.
Sounds to be very quite, noise levels is a huge seller for us old fellas traveling with a passenger
I put a decibel leave meter aka app on phone on ours and I believe at 60 km/h was around 89 I believe with front and back windows
I don't think that front bumper is stock?. Cfmoto Canada site doesn't show it as stock nor do any of tbr units I've seen have it.
Are the front windshield and rear window shown here options from CFMOTO
They are options.
My only gripe with mine so far is where the adjust knob is on the front shocks. You can't see it on the 2024 model

Is there enough engine heat shielding in the CFMOTO ZFORCE 950 Sport to keep the seats and cab from getting hot like many other UTVs?
I didn't notice excessive heat on this unit or the 800 Trail.
2023 is pretty much identical and there is NO heat issue whatsoever. Actually I was thinking of how to get more heat in the cab when it's only a few degrees above freezing temp here in Alberta in October.
@@ic9876 It is chilly in Alberta in October! 🥶
I'm wondering about heat issues, too. I'm in south Mississippi, where temps can get over a 100°, just a little heat can make it unbearable.
@@Oldman650 I can imagine 🥵
Nice rig
I want this or a uforce 1000 so bad im leaning towards the uforce since I hunt and a dump bed would be handy but that sport is sharp
Are they still obnoxiously loud driving it?
I know they sound the same as every other SxS, but inside, they are so loud when driving.
Wicked
Seeing those prices makes me happy to be in America for the first time in 10 years. 😂
Unfortunately that front bumper, side mirrors, hazard lights, turns signals, horn, and 5 year warranty are not standard in the US.
That is very disappointing!!!!
The bumper not but mirrors an winch an turnsignals are in USA. Least at dealer I've visited.
I have a first gen 950, been reliable. Turning radius is bad and suspension is pretty stiff. I might go check a gen 2 out. For the money the moto is a good deal
I wish CF Moto 950 trail would come out with a dump bed!!!!!!
A standard cooler will not fit in the trunk, the trunk is only 10.5 inches deep, my only complaint on mine so far, my 23 didn't come with horn hazards or turn signals or bumper i got ripped off here in the states
That trunk ia actually easily removable so you have the standard bed for hauling larger gear.
What exactly are the dimensions of a "standard" cooler. 🙂
Please compare the 950 sport 4 seater to the krx 4seater
I like that idea. I would say the KRX would win overall, but it would be close. The ZFORCE is a really nice machine.
@dirttraxtv I'm pretty sure too but the price comparison is a huge factor for most of us. Thanks for replying!
Is it true that the front bumper, side mirrors, hazard lights, turn signals, horn, and 5-year warranty are not standard in the US?
There are some differences btwn the Canadian and US models.
I just paid $400 for the full windshield and $280 for the side mirrors (US) the rear view mirror is about $130 I was told. I don't know about the rest of the stuff.
How has the reliability been on the CFMOTOs?
We've only had these units this season so can't speak to long term reliability.
Not sure on other people, but we just turned 2500 kms on our Gen 2 zforce 950 sport and counting. Works awesome
@@JamesLangille-oi6pl That's awesome!! Thanks for sharing.
What’s the length? 🤔
Have you heard of any problems with the 2023 models locking up in Park?
No and I didn't experience any shifting issues. Our unit shifted pretty smoothly. That said, I cut speak for others' experience.
Also sometimes when you put it in park it's not really in park, you have to again jerk a bit while pushing forward on the lever and then it fully goes into park.
is 950 newer model than z force 1000 ?
the HO is 90bhp once they release that model
If it's their 963cc shouldn't it make 78 hp like the cforce and uforce 1000s?
Cfmoto plays with the fuel path logic in their ECM's from machine to machine. The z950 H.O. models also have the 963cc V twin engine and those boast 90hp. These 950 G2 sports are rated at 85hp. The 963cc V twins that come in the Overland 1000's and Uforce 1000's are rated at 79hp.....as did the 2020 thru 2022 z950 G1 sports.
@@jimmydesperado2936 you seem pretty knowledgeable... any way to put a z950 ho ecm in a cforce?
@@justinmochi7323I'm sure you could....but the price you'd pay for an ECM out of another model....and then extra for the re-tune it would need. You'd be cheaper and further ahead to send your stock ECM out for a performance tune.
I have been waiting to buy a 2024 model because I understood that they were bringing back the handbrake. Though It doesn't seem like this '24 model has one. What's up with that? There has been so much backlash on social media about issues with parking it on a hill and leaving it in park damaging transmissions. I thought CFMoto listened to their customers and corrected their blunder.
I'm sure they listen, just doesn't happen immediately. If it an issue, let's hope it gets addressed.
Did away with the bead lock rims ?
thought we where lookin at a Maverick Sport for a second there. 🤣
I hear RZR a bunch too. I think the 50-60 inch wide Sport lines all kinda have a similar look. Significantly less money for this though...
Is cf moto paying you for this segment
Doesn't seem like there are many options for accessories.
I think this machine can be street legal, if you want it to be.
Its not? Wow thats crazy here it is but its registered as a farm machine. Road legal but there are 3 catagorys
What about heat. Driving in winter time.
Well, we've only had ours since the weather's been nice. Will have to drive it in the snow to report accurately.
I think it's 85hp.
It is.
@@dirttraxtv I know you like the RMAX and you've driven that and the new gen2. The CFMOTO is a compelling package and value. I'm still leaning used RMAX.
The rockers look unprotected. Can you comment on that?
Looks alot like can am Maverick
Its 85hp and 64lb ft
the problem with this model 5hp less plus its not big man certified 6-1 290 its smaller the the ho950 the sport has 85hp n the ho ex has 90hp but the smaller sport with 5 less hp will out run the 90hp bigger ho
Fugleman gets the award for worst name for an off-road vehicle. 🏆
Lmao I remember when I saw a fugleman...I thought the name was a joke
@@dirttraxtvAbsolutely!!!
85 hp
79bhp
85
@@MonkeyKing_1 my bad sir, you are spot on, the G2 950 trails are 85 now. The G1 Z950 are still 79hp and 90hp respectfully with the standard and HO models. Wonder when they will get the bump in power also.

This is the Supra of sxs it's a Can Am cf moto 😂.
You literally just talk show is almost nothing in every video and whenever there is riding or driving footage it’s all dubbed with your copyright safe music😂. Wow.
