Got mine, absolutely loving it, definitely going to use it in spells for work and then transfering onto the Desktop. So glad I went with Samsung this year and thanks for your great reviews.
Dear sir, If I get a Bluetooth keyboard, can it work with the DeX mode which the Samsung Galaxy S 8 gives ? Because it has keyboard on screen,do we really need the keyboard ? Thanks you.
I am happy with both, it works well for the quick work I need to complete but YES, there can be the odd glitch when typing, mainly with the letter O. Most of all I like it and even use it more than the monitor nowadays, informative review thanks a lot.
Dear sir, If I get a Bluetooth keyboard, can it work with the DeX mode which the Samsung Galaxy S 8 gives ? Because it has keyboard on screen,do we really need the keyboard ? Thanks you.
Seems like the MX Anywhere Mouse, the MX Mechanical Mini, and the back cover are the way I'll go and for a bit less than the cover package here. If I can't really type with the keyboard cover on my lap and I'm forced to use a table top anyway, the purpose of this cover is that it has no purpose in my use case.
It's just slightly more portable than bringing a separate keyboard and a mouse. But if you can afford to carry around a keyboard and a mouse and it's definitely a better option
I saw your tweet about the surface duo 2 and why it wouldn't make much sense for them to manufacture a new batch if they have to sell it for 900 bucks or less. I couldn't agree more. Does make me wonder what the future for that device will be in terms of availability.
Yeah, that's the thing, I WANT it to succeed, I want it to go on sale too and I want more people to fall in love with the form factor, just not sure why they would make a huge batch just to put them on sale. So hoping it becomes available again, but we will see. I picked one up on eBay before the collapse a week ago and it's been great. Got it in mint condition for $750.
Is there a way to remove the keyboard from the cover and keep the front part of the cover to close it and protect the screen? If not, is there an alternative you can buy to sort of...keep the back cover and attach a front cover without keyboard to the same magnet that the keyboard attaches to?
You can't and there isn't. Honestly your best bet is just to get a tempered glass for the front and Ditch the keyboard. That's what I did and it works great for me
You probably wouldn't have problems with this keyboard 😂. I think I type a little too fast for it. So I noticed it was missing a letter, but only when typing certain words.
Have an Ultra with the keyboard coming. I found your channel looking for cases, and you mentioned the ZenRich for something that is more robust, but accommodates the keyboard. One thing I can't figure out, is whether the keyboard can be attached/detached while in the ZenRich case. Is there enough clearance to pop it off for putting the tablet in a stand (for example).
If you take the keyboard out of the case the tablet itself will probably move around a little bit inside the case. The extra clearance in the case is for the keyboard so if it's not attached there's basically a little room at the bottom of the case that would just be empty.
@@AndroidDigest So it sounds like you can attach the keyboard and remove it while the tablet stays in the case? Like typing away on some things, and then pop off the keyboard to use it as a tablet? If I have to remove the back shell to take the keyboard off and on, it's maybe not worth the hassle. Trying to find the balance in protection for use as a 30% laptop light and 70% tablet. Want to be able to pop off the keyboard to put it in a stand (or something) to use for Zoom calls, etc. (Sorry for the long reply, but thanks for the info!)
I have my Samsung Tab S8 Ultra but there is an issue after updating one UI 4.1.1 software update after updating the software I am not not able to use the air command in power saving mode but previously I was able to use air command in power saving mode when I disable the power saving mode in this new update then air command is working but after activating it the air command is not working now I think there is a issue with software update kindly resolve this issue as soon as possible because this function was so much useful I have also use the safe boot mode for troubleshoot and I am also factory reset the device ,and samsung care software again update too, some friends of mine also facing the same issue, but nothing happened ,are you also facing the same issue kindly check and tell???
I don't think the keyboard will really make it an issue, some things may be really small little on a large monitor like that, so the scaling might need to be tweaked. Just not something I've been able to test
I REALLY want to recommend this keyboard cover, but at the price with it's issues, I can't. $350 is absurd for what it is. I've been using it since day one, and unfortunately theres no other option that DOESN'T use Bluetooth, and uses the pin connectors on the tablet to connect. My biggest complaint is that it will freeze or lag, usually while pressing a key, so I'll end up with something like thissssssssssssssssssss. And it happens frequently too. Very disappointed. If it hadn't been for the preorder credit that made it free for me, I'd never have bought it.
Another problem with this case is that it does not really protect the tablet very well. i have dropped the tablet with a glass screen protector with the cover on twice, the first time created a crack under the screen protector, the second time shattered the screen. otherwise i really like this cover with the backstand and removable keyboard front cover. is there a similar cover with more tablet protection, the front cover does not have to be keyboard?
Not really sure what you mean by the question. I believe Spigen made a slightly more protective case that goes WITH the keyboard, here: amzn.to/3oZCmJp but I don't think any other brand makes a case that works with the keyboard, at that point you will have to get a separate case. I did make a video on the best s8 ultra accessories, and in that video I share some other case options. Hopefully this helps
You already reviewed this cover. Question though. Everyone says it's over priced which I would agree with buuuuut the keyboard for the iPad Pro is very close to the same price. Why don't we say this when knocking the price?
I did, and now I'm reviewing it 6 months later with updated thoughts after using it for a while. I get what you're saying, this is the same price as the Apple keyboard for the iPad pro, that's also overpriced, but they are just trying to stay competitive. It is worth mentioning for sure. But in the end when you are in the US there's no reason to pay $350 anymore. These sell new or near new for $200 now on eBay.
@@AndroidDigest I get it. I paid $175 for one locally that was barely used. The comparison would just be nice to list cost wise vs the iPad Pro one. It's not a knock on you. I've watched many reviews on this keyboard and no one mentions that it priced comparatively.
Dear sir, If I get a Bluetooth keyboard, can it work with the DeX mode which the Samsung Galaxy S 8 gives ? Because it has keyboard on screen,do we really need the keyboard ? Thanks you.
Yeah. I'm with you!! It's a catch 22 though. The apple magic keyboard is way better on your lap but it's not detachable, so you can't keep the kickstand with no keyboard, which is a huge downfall for me
@@AndroidDigest Yeah. I can't think of a good way around that. Coming up with detachable case that has a kickstand, that could still magnatize to a magic keyboard-type keyboard doesn't seem realistic to me. It would be very bulky at best.
I am thinking about getting a book cover for my tab s9+ or mx keys mini. I use laptop stand all the time with my laptop so I need to use it with my tablet too. (I am low visioned its easy to see with laptop stand). Is it stay on the stand or fall of? I need also use backlit keyboard so I am searching for a better option. Can you help me to decide.
So if you buy the book cover specifically for the Tab S9 Plus, it will stay on and it's very sturdy. So the book cover keyboard is great. I plan to review it in a couple of weeks and post on the channel, after my s9 plus review. But yeah it's a great option. With that being said, the Samsung Outdoor Cover has a kickstand, it's $60, and you can pair that with an MX keys mini (about $100) and you will save about $60 or so overall. So both of those options are great. I'd recommend either the outdoor cover and mx keys mini, or the S9 Plus book cover keyboard.
Can you suggest a method for me to get the trackpad working I’ve tried pressing the function key + F6 Plus the function key and the space bar but nothing works, thanks
Hey, I'm sorry you're having issues, I hope you were able to get it working, sorry for the late response, I'm getting so many comments a day now it's so hard to keep up, and I got really behind, life got crazy.
Got the device and keyboard this summer for 699+free keyboard. I do not use the keyboard that much but the backcover it Comes with feels essential as it protects the Pen and specially works as a stand which you really need for a tablet this size.

@@themastersvoice8636 hello, Bluetooth keyboard works with samsung dex. For dex I suggest keyboard with touchpad or keyboard + mouse. @Falcon2 base model so 128gb wifi. The device was on sale on Samsung site then got extra trade in for nokia Lumia 720 1 euro for the phone but 150 or 200 extra Credit for trade in. Samsung chat gave me a discount code on top of this to finish the sale. Keyboard case was included as a gift. I also got the regular s8 for 240 euros new. It was on sale for 499 and extra trade in 200 for any old device. Then Samsung discount voucher for birthday... Samsung site in Finland had some insane deals on tabs, fold 4and s22 phones. S23 phones not so much :/
Does anyone have issues with the cursor jumping to another sentence as you type? Is there a way to troubleshoot it? I got this to use for college and have to write papers; it's super annoying and decreases productivity.
You can maybe turn off the touch pad with the keyboard shorcut. It's flimsy so if you have your finger on the trackpad while you put pressure on the palm rest it can cause clicks. Very annoying
I bought mine for tab s8 + and the right shift key broke and the TouchPad it doesn't fill that smoth overall it will be worth it if it was half of the price
This is already better than the iPad Pro. Number 1, S8 Ultra Keyboard Cover has a cursor bar thing, and has a computer mode; the iPad doesn’t. Number 2, the keyboard comes with the cover and a place to secure place for your pen, the iPad doesn’t. Honestly, why would anyone get an Apple Product over a Windows/Google product?
There are definitely reasons people would prefer the Apple product. I think everyone is different and everyone has different needs. With that being said I absolutely hate apple and everything they make and I would destroy any and every Apple product I ever get... Which I never would 😂
@@AndroidDigest I’m still on Apple, but when my contract has ended I’m joining the Green Robot Army. The phone I’m thinking about getting is a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
That's a really good deal, especially for the plus. Just remember if it's the slim keyboard it won't be the same as this keyboard. The keyboard for the tab S8 Plus, Well there's two of them. The slim keyboard is one piece that does not detach, It's a little sturdy on your lap though. And there's another keyboard from the tab S7 Plus that is detachable and that also works with the tab S8 Plus. Just a heads up. No backlight on those keyboards. No matter what keyboard you got though, it's still a really good deal
What is this actually worth? I'm very hesitant to buy this even at $160. I'm using a RGB RedDragon keyboard I got for like $45 and this Razr mouse with Type C Hub connected to my Samsung Smart TV monitor. All works great in Dex.
I mean it depends. What is it worth to you? If you don't mind carrying around your keyboard and mouse it will work better for sure. The point of this keyboard is to keep things very light, at least compared to a normal case and keyboard. What's that worth to you? Everyone is different. I will say it's okay. But I typed too fast on it, it occasionally missed certain key presses and I had that issue with two separate models. Outside of a couple of minor things it is a really nice keyboard, at least compared to other thin and light keyboards.. But I'm not sure paying nearly $200 is worth it. It all depends on the person. I just bought the $99 mx keys and a mouse and I'm good.
Was looking for a video of other s8 ultra keyboards wich are illuminated and you just showed me that it has LED´s xD Thumbs up! But yeah: awful keyboard for this price. Especialy when you are used to surface quality.
Thank you sir for your good effort. But please let me know : If I get a Bluetooth keyboard, can it work with the DeX mode which the Samsung Galaxy S 8 gives ? Because it has keyboard on screen,do we really need the keyboard ? Thanks you
You can use dex mode with the book cover keyboard, with a Bluetooth keyboard or you can just use the touch screen keyboard. But it will be much harder to type long paragraphs on a touch screen keyboard. And normally you open Dex when you are getting really productive, using a laptop environment, if you don't plan to do that, using the normal Android operating system will probably be faster anyway. But I think it helps to use dex with a keyboard and mouse. Or at least a keyboard
When I got my tab S7 I just paid $80 or something for a used keyboard case. It looks like new when I got it outside of the packaging and it's held up fine. That's for the 11-in model of course. Charging $350 for the keyboard is ridiculous. I think it's almost vital for the tablets to really be used to their fullest extent, and I would almost rather them come with the keyboards even if it meant a price bump. It's always kind of bugging me here. The surface mine from Microsoft keeps the keyboard as a separate accessory.
I agree with you. Even then, Microsoft only charges like $100 for it. $350 is absolutely insane. Sure I could have stressed that more in the video, but I also think many people like you will look for it used. I sold mine used on ebay for like $200, plenty of them available, and at least that's a little more reasonable. So didn't want to discourage people too much. My biggest problem honestly was that it was missing 1 letter when I typed certain words, like missing the u for "you". It only missed the letter if I typed really fast, but I always type fast, so it was hard to adjust to slowing down for words like that.
I couldn't help but notice that you have used the exact same phrases as nearly all the other keyboard reviewers. I have upgraded from the Tab S7+ and Samsung keyboard case to the Tab S8 Ultra. I am struggling with the constant complaining about the weight, what do you expect from a tablet this size. I can assure you I do not work out, I have no problem holding it. One of your negatives was that the back light on the keyboard was hard to see "when the room was lit up", why would you need back lit keys in a lit room??? You found fault with the kick stand. I tried several different situations, typing on the screen keyboard, drawing with the S pen, Facebook, twitter and many other programs with no problem. The only times I had a problem with the kickstand was playing games, holding the tablet in my hands solved that problem. I'm sorry you are the generic reviewer to receive my response but you really need to stop following the sheep.
With all due respect, I make more money praising this then I do giving cons. I make affiliate money off of people clicking my links. I regularly praise Samsung on my channel, my channel is primarily known for praising Samsung tablets. I have a lot of incentive to say good things, but I have to keep my integrity and be honest about my experiences even if it affects me negatively Still, even if the cons aren't a big deal,. I have to share them. I don't say how big of a deal many of these cons are, it's left up to the person watching to decide. But for $350 , I'm going to have decent expectations. I've owned two of these and both of them missed keystrokes, I type too fast and this keyboard cannot keep up, so it misses several keystrokes. Yes, the kickstand isn't strong enough to hold the tablet up in all positions, unlike the kickstand from previous tablets, and you can get a Microsoft surface Keyboard for $150. That has an angled typing experience and better backlighting. Of course it's heavy, it's supposed to be. But many users coming from smaller devices need to be aware of it. I'm going to share these cons and be honest with my reviewers. With that being said, I still had good to say about it, and I still recommend that people consider buying it, if they find it for a reasonable price. A true sheep would just praise everything, ignore all the cons, and say "click my link, buy now". That is not me
@Android Digest "your" review was a regurgitation of all the other reviewers highlights. The only original content was your inability to type the word "you". Seriously! Why would you need the backlit keyboard in a brightly lit room? You have the largest tablet on the market, add a keyboard cover then you complain about the weight. You then have the audacity to brag that you make money from this BS. Simple question for you to answer..... why would you need a backlit keyboard in a brightly lit room? Forget everything else and answer that very simple question?
Yep. It's a very big part of my life. To be honest my RUclips channel is really a side job for me to support my family. It allows me to do what I do loving people and shepherding people for a living. I'm truly blessed. Struggling. But blessed 🤣

Was looking for a video of other s8 ultra keyboards wich are illuminated and you just showed me that it has LED´s xD Thumbs up! But yeah: awful keyboard for this price. Especialy when you are used to surface quality.
Exactly! 💯
Thank you sir for your good effort. But please let me know :
If I get a Bluetooth keyboard, can it work with the DeX mode which the Samsung Galaxy S 8 gives ? Because it has keyboard on screen,do we really need the keyboard ?
Thanks you
You can use dex mode with the book cover keyboard, with a Bluetooth keyboard or you can just use the touch screen keyboard. But it will be much harder to type long paragraphs on a touch screen keyboard. And normally you open Dex when you are getting really productive, using a laptop environment, if you don't plan to do that, using the normal Android operating system will probably be faster anyway. But I think it helps to use dex with a keyboard and mouse. Or at least a keyboard
I just cannot justify the price of this thing. I can afford it and I really want it, but I yeah $350 is crazy.
Exactly, by now you could maybe snatch a used one for cheaper on ebay though, so check that out.
Definitely sounds like Greg Doucette.
I had to look him up 😂. Yeah I can hear a little resemblance
> 350 usd
> "compromises"
lol
I have a lot of incentive to say good things, but I have to keep my integrity and be honest about my experiences even if it affects me negatively
Still, even if the cons aren't a big deal,.
