Just a note on the refresh rate on the Tab S8 Ultra, you can use Bixby Routine to set the refresh rate on certain apps (like I put it at 60Hz for apps like RUclips, Netflix or Kindle while leaving the 120Hz by default for stuff like notetaking, gaming)
Nice thanks for the tip I got today the Samsung galaxy tab S8 ultra today at my local best buy and it was the very last one they had in stock 😀 👍 I ended up getting the 128gb version because that was the only one available i really wanted the 256gb version because it comes with 12gb ram instead of the 8gb ram on the 128gb If they had the 512gb i would of got that one instead but that was sold out everywhere
I purchased the S8 Ultra. Nothing can match this tablet right now. For productivity is just outstanding. The stylus is just too good. The air command is just so so good. And the stylus is also a shutter for the camera and more. It's just so many things you can do with it. And the display is beyond amazing. Nothing can match this tablet right now.
@@morningqueens7766 Under heavy use, 7-8 hours. Under normal use I normally get 12+. That's with the display around 30-40% brightness which is more than bright enough for average room lighting. I'll start streaming movies in the morning and even by late night I still have ~30% battery.
Unfortunately I returned my iPad pro only because how complicated/limited the multitasking ability is. I really wanted to keep it but a week later I gave up. Multitasking on the iPad was more of a hassle to me. I think If the user is more into multitasking, then they should get Android tablets not iPads.
it’s such a catch 22, better apps yet terrible multitasking. So glad that Android is taking tablet seriously again and I hope after Luma Fusion, other big apps will make their way to Android tabs
Yeah, I have an iPad Air 4 which I still really like , but apple’s multitasking definitely the only word I can think of to describe it is clunky. You can sort of feel a bit of that iphone UI poking through , like on iPhones some of the times windows and some apps refuse to go into landscape , where as even when you pull down the toggle screen on a galaxy , it will go into landscape.
This is so accurate. I have both iPad Pro and Tab S7. Samsung has better multitasking. Meanwhile I always accidentally swipe the note feature on iPad while I didn’t meant to. Also multitasking on the iPad was more hassle. Also browsing and copy paste on Tab S7 is better than iPad. In conclusion I found myself using more Tab S7 for media consumption, social media, browsing, multitasking compared to only use iPad for playing games.
I was on the Apple ecosystem for a good 10 years.. Until just recently.. I will say that I've have been blown away over and over again with Samsung products.. The S21+ was my first Samsung and loved it. Just recently got the S22 Ultra & S8 Ultra Tablet and I'm in love! Just sold the last of my Apple products (IPad air gen 3 2019) peace Apple ✌️
Good choice to jump over. I use an ipad pro and a regular galaxy s21. I try not to have bias when it comes to hardware, but android is just much more flexible imo. I always find myself having to find work arounds for things i do on the ipad that are just work by standard on android. I'll give an example: Sending an image within the discord app in android is 1 press to open gallery, and 1 press to select photo. To do the same thing on ios, it's one press to open a selection from the gallery, another to press accept when you have highlighted the selection, then another press to open up the selected photos, and another press to send the photo from the selection. Ios is such a tight system, that it makes you press twice as many if not three times as many times to get the same thing done pretty often and it just becomes annoying if you are doing these things very often. Ios only users wont notice these things, and they will likely just take them as a given. These limitations force you into using the device in a certain way, rather than building you own efficient methods to use the device. You've probably experienced this first hand having switch now. I have nothing against people using and thinking ioa is superior, and i can agree that some aspects of ios are simply just better, but damn it feels good to use a much more flexible os on the one device that, for me, should be as flexible as possible.
I was quite underwhelmed when I first bought the iPad pro. Great screen and processor, but very limited in terms of multitasking. Even the Apple Pencil was underwhelming considering I had to pay for it separately from the iPad. Honestly, I can do more multitasking stuff on my Note20 Ultra vs the iPad.
@@fmax30000 as a creative professional, multitasking is everything. I also like spen (the bigger one) better than apple pencil. Both stylus are really great though.
To answer the inquiry around 2:31, consider getting Samsung's Good Lock app from the Galaxy Store. With in the app is a feature that lets you adjust the unresponsive deadzones on Samsung devices to prevent accidental touches 👍
I've tried the Apple Pencil and I thought it was a waaaay more unpleasant experience compared to the S Pen on my Tab S7+. The S Pen is much smoother and as said in the video the tip is flexible. I think the S Pen is way superior and it's great that Samsung includes it in the package.
@@stephaned3072 eh, I disagree. I'd still recommend iPad over a galaxy tab for drawing. Plus Procreate exists on iPad. But the S-Pen is still great, though.
Got my 8+ today. A very solid tablet. I've been multitasking for hours. It's so zippy it faded to the background while I setup shop. The no charger is crazy. I use my laptop charger for everything. Took my tablet from 39% to 100 in an hour and some change. I have a Samsung laptop. They even have Quick Share working beautifully. Sent video from my phone to the tablet effortlessly.
samsung REFUSES to send my tab 8 ultra. i pre ordered it extremely early. so early that they at first weren't offering the $350 book cover keyboard. when i found out that they were i cancelled the original order and put in a new order that includes the keyboard. well it's been absolute YEARS and that new order has been totally MIA. i called twice and they said everything is ok. but who knows.
I wish quck share was a multiplatform software on windows. I will not ever buy a Samsung laptop. I already have a beast laptop (well, a 2018 one at least) and I was trying to find ways to make it work but it just couldn't but between my Samsung phones, it was amazing to see how fast it was. It made me wish Android had something like this for other OEMs as well. wait, is there such a thing on Android?
Almost I watched all the comparisons between them on RUclips and this is by far is the best and useful one yet . Thank you TGT. Waiting for your update about these two tablets ( after testing tab S8 ultra more and more). I used both apple and android, both are great however I feel android system in terms of productivity ( Microsoft office, documents ..etc) is more convenient and easier to use.
Totally agree .... I used them both heavily and I will give the edge to the tab when it comes to productivity especially using Microsoft office , Adobe, filing system .. ect.
3:43 not sure if you know but you can actually just move apps from internal storage to sd card ..its an android feature release a few years ago and one ui makes it more easier when you just go to app info
The S8 ultra I think is the current top flagship tablet. Yes, both tablets have their pros and cons but for the price, I think you get more if you go for Samsung. Especially in the multitasking realm.
@@john10minutesago15 - it is cheaper until you add in all the extras. Like a keyboard/case, pencil, any adaptor that you might need. Then Apple gets too $$$ fast.
i used the tab s7+ for a long time and i really like the look and feel of the tab s8 ultra, i also think the multitasking and s pen are so much better on the tab, but having an ipad for the last few months the apps are just so so much better. there are a ton of apps on the ipad that are developed for it and i think until the tab gets that same love it’ll always be a toss up between to two. both are great machines, and honestly i really like that the tab is getting so much better. they will give apple competition in the tablet field that they have owned for a long time.
The apps are the issue with android itself... The devolpertool for android apps still have no tablets in mind, the only devices you could choose are smartphones and when google dont handle this with android it dont will become better in the near future...
@@layaleebadawi6273 depending what are u studying. If you’re arts student i guess ipad is better. But if you’re using for note taking, words, powerpoint then definitely ultra.
I am looking forward to my S22 Ultra being able to interact with my Tab S8 Ultra. I am currently using an iPad Pro 3rd gen and the S22 Ultra. Last year I snagged the Surface Duo phone in hopes it would interface with my Surface Book but no such luck. Samsung swooped in and saved the day.
S-pen included in the box, sleeker design (imo), SD card slot, better software for multitasking, Dex, OLED display. Need I sya more which is the better option ? Edit: oh and a much better front facing camera. Like miles better
@@Arkulust that's why Samsung offers the plus and the regular with the same features but with a toned down display, same chip and multi tasking prowess. I have the tab s7+, the tab hasn't shown any sign of aging despite its old hardware from 2020, still smooth and if you include the multitasking you can use it forever until it breaks
Thank you for this video. I just pre-ordered the S8 Ultra minutes before I saw this video in my subscriptions. What a stroke of luck. I was shocked when Samsung offered me 600.00 for my S7+ as a trade-in. AND the free book/keyboard cover and shipping and handling. What a deal!
It's the first time that Samsung pushes Apple tablets to the limits...I own an iPad pro 2021 (apple fan on tablets, but Samsung fan on mobiles) and I received tabs8 ultra two days ago...honestly right now I don't know where ipadpro is...the display of tab s8 ultra is massive...and I think for tablets the most important thing is the display...
Just to avoid that stampede away from the Mac, I doubt Apple will soon release a closely competitive iPad in screen ratio in an OLED panel. The letter box will stick around for a little longer, but the Tab S8 ultra font facing camera is quite a clever guide that actually makes the bezels hiding it more appealing overall, compared to other landscape margins.
@@panelsm7933thanks for the response, it was just a wish to be able one day to experience unlit deep blacks, those glowing letterbox bars are kinda distracting. I just got an Ultra a week-ish ago and I've been BLOWN AWAY by it so far. People love to poo poo Android as a tablet OS and it's like, "have you used one in the past couple years?" It's REALLY good. Total multitasking ANIMAL!!
If you illustrate, there is one issue. Having gone back to an iPad- it’s the screen ratio. In landscape mode, I kept wishing the Galaxy Tab was taller. It became a big irritation (great for movies, though)
Even if I buy apple it's repair cost or replacement is insanely expensive. I can get another entry level pad in the one year repair insurance hence Samsung has lot of edge over apple. Apple score in hardware any given day and OS for those who prefer more security.
Your link brings you to best buy, charging $1200, with no keyboard included, and no gift card as the description says. The Samsung website sells the exact same tablet for $840
Given how thin the new Galaxy Tab S8 is, I’d like to see how it would perform in a bend test. Also, after having used Apple’s 7.9” iPad Mini, 9.7” iPad 5, 10.5” iPad Air 3, and 11” M1 iPad Pro, I am very curious what using a larger tablet is like. I definitely prefer the aspect ratio of the 12.9” iPad Pro as it’s far nicer for multitasking, especially on a smaller screen.
Why do you feel the iPad aspect ratio is better for multitasking? I find the opposite to be the case. Split screen on S8U basically gives you two iPad Minis. It is so much better than split screen on an iPad 12.9, which gives you two skinny windows. The S8U is the first tablet I've owned where I can have a book or paper on the left and OneNote on the right and it doesn't feel cramped at all.
@@ruzaroos Most people do not multitask in portrait mode so the iPad Pro split-screen is just fine for prosumers. Min is permanently attached to the keyboard.
@@andyH_England I was talking about landscape split screen. The S8U being 16x10 gives you two 8x10 aspect ratio apps. The iPad being 4x3 gives you two 6x9 apps. The difference in horizontal width of those apps is quite noticeable. I realize the iPad is fine but it is certainly not better for horizontal split screen. The other advantage of the S8U is that you can hold the tablet in portrait and split the screen horizontally to end up with 2 10x8 apps or any arbitrary combination of sizes. The S8U is basically the size of Legal paper. You can partition two apps so that you have one running at 8.5"×11" with a 8.5"×3" in app underneath. This is a very good layout for reading and light note taking underneath.
The way you described the feeling of writing using the Apple Pencil and Samsung S-Pen is just Spot On! I have tried both and 100% completely agree with you.
@@bear2507 Even ignoring functionality which is what this thread is about (OP wasn't fanboying at all, he just stated a fact, more functionality and less price, if you don't like such statement I'm afraid the one fanboying is another even if trying to pass it as neutral), I'd say EMR actually should legitimately be favored by us customers, mind you, for it is much better for us. Active pens are a cash grab for companies, Wacom himself included (AES. Which of course they don't use in their own premium pen displays, why would that be?), it has been the re-inventing of the wheel all over the place. Even if they are good, and the Apple pencil regarded as the best out of them, EMR still holds a lot of pros over them, and being cheaper is the reason why Samsung can throw the pens in the package. They're also cheaper at the time of replacement and you can find a lot more of third party options if it suits you better.
@@nekogaming8461 Sure. Again, that's why premium pen displays use Apple pencils/active pen and not EMR ones at all. Hell, EMR pen don't even have pressure sensitivity it seems! Sarcasm aside and although kinda irrelevant in real life performance since that depends on the software used a lot but, both the apple pencil and the S-pen were on 9ms latency IIRC, Surface pen 2 got theirs to 21 but they're still the worst of the bunch. The S-Pen dropping it below 3ms this time around means they're the ones with better latency right now. So no, none of your points are actually a victory for the apple pencil, the only pro is subjective feeling which I can agree can feel better using it for some, but EMR is still the preferred and objectively better input by a lot, just not known since most people in the industry can't care about tech specs and it's not like they'll get something other than EMR on a dedicated pen display.
Galaxy Tab aspect ratio is so much better for media consumption. Plus One UI 4 is an absolute game changer for Samsung. For background I have Apple desktop, iPads and iPhones in my house.
Personally, I prefer the apple pencil over the S8 ultra’s pen due to the unnatural weight (wish the S8 pen is a bit heavier so i could have more control with my lines). I’m glad to see samsung going to the right track! But for now i’m sticking with my iPad. If they bring more apps to android for creative professionals, I would gladly buy a samsung one! (Can’t pass on expandable storage)
For me it comes down to android vs iOS. Ultimately, I prefer android and just don't want the hassle of Apple, especially since my needs (though not all my wants) are met even by the tab s6 lite. I have considered the ipad pro a few times but I always return to basically the same result.
@@P0Lak2012 simple; I find iOS to be an exrreme nuisance to use. They have the apps but it's not like it's a night and day difference. I also don’t care for the apple pen. And the non-expandable memory. How can you actually stand such a system? It's total nonsense
May I ask you if in the next reviews you can add also pdf management, especially for students: how is reading pdf and taking notes on them with such big screen?
pdf management is fine on ipad too. i use it as a student with no issues. and note taking on a ipad is really good too, especially due to its aspect ratio vs the samsung. but both tablets are good for both
The Galaxy Tab Ulrtra's pen is Waaaaay better than the Apple pencil. As an artist who traditionally uses Wacom Cintiqs to do my work, the pen on the Galaxy Tab's feel is very similar to the Wacom pen, with the divited nib. It feels smoother and strokes are executed better than the hard as hell Apple pencil tip.
Really enjoy your reviews! I had my finger poised over the buy button for the S8+ but after thinking about it, I switched to the regular S8. I already have an iPad Pro 12.9 and thought it would be nice to have a smaller premium tablet. Only possible downside is the S8 does not have an OLED screen. I am looking forward to your reviews of the S8 and S8+ tablets in the near future. Hopefully I made the right choice.

I absolutely had to buy one and it is SO AMAZING! This thing is the only reason why I may look at other samsung devices. The ultra tablet is a absolute monster!
I only wish Samsung offered a 4:3 screen ratio tablet as I rarely watch video on a tablet, the added width for drawing does it for me. I like the S-Pen much more, you can feel it's Wacom technology, just nicer to draw with.
Android now does let you set app data and storage on a case by case basis to be either internal or on a micro sd card. Also the Samsung self powered SSD allows for super fast data transfer rates, and with AES256 built in.
You glossed through the screen sharing options. What resolutions and refresh rates do they support? I could only get the S7+ to support 1080p at 60hz. I was considering getting the S8 Ultra if it is better for that. Please let me know. Thank you.
Because my comment was deleted. As a photographer and content creator for small businesses. The iPad is king hands down. Best color accuracy, fastest Lightroom export, and davinci resolve. Say less. It's not a close match. iPad pros, are for professionals, the tab is just a big android phone. I'll stick with my pixel 6 and iPad pro.
I use an iPad Pro 2021 with Apple Pencil and a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra with Spen. I find the S Pen is far superior. Apple Pencil feels clunky and unnatural.

man the S8 ultra is insane! LOOOOL it's so enormous. I've seen people in class use the 12.9 inch ipads, it'd be such a flex to pull out the S8 ultra from the backpack LOOOOOOL
Excellent review. Does it make any sense to get the Tab S8 Ultra and keep my 11-inch iPad Pro M1? I’m in a bit of a dilemma to pre-order the gorgeous Tab S8 Ultra before the promo offer ends today in the UK (free keyboard, Disney+). I have the 11-inch iPad Pro M1 which I love and want to keep. I was hoping to get a laptop replacement with a bigger screen iPad/tablet as my current ASUS flip Zenbook (late 2020) is pretty useless with short lasting battery, less portability and a screen that is nowhere as crisp and bright as my very previous old 2011 MacBook Pro. I dislike the Windows user experience as well, plus an iPad/tablet would meet most of my user needs.
I think they are sufficiently different that keeping them both is fine. The S8U is very different from even the 12.9 Pro. Also having access to both OS's is very nice. One thing the RUclipsrs aren't tracking is that the HP Elite Folio 13 keeps dropping down to $849-999. Depending on what you like about these ARM tablets, that one is also a good fit for some people. I use all three and can say that they all have something that they do better than the others.
3:30 In Android developer settings, you can change a setting that allows you to put apps on external storage, it's called "force allow apps on external"
For Apple its easy to give you all those software updates for a very long time because iOS is still almost the same than it was 10 years ago. I was a bit shocked when I moved from Android to an iphone.
For maybe note taking and drawing, I would probably go for the s8 ultra as it comes with a bigger screen size and battery, it makes the screen look more clear and simple, the work gets done easily and I would also probably go for the s8 ultra for multitasking as with the keyboard, it looks like a laptop to me or almost it gives the look of a laptop with the keyboard attached. But I do like how the s8 ultra comes along the included s pen inside the box so you don't have to spend extra unlike the iPad.
Don't know if this was asked. And I do appreciate the review as I'm looking into purchasing a new tablet. Question: How do you know the facial recognition is not as secure on the Samsung as on the iPad Pro?
Because Samsung’s face unlock is 2d using just the camera. iPad Face ID uses infrared dots and time of flight sensing to make a 3d map of your face. If you get the s8 just use the fingerprint reader.
I haven't owned an iOS device since iPhone 4 and original 2012 iPad Mini (due to severe iOS limitations I moved to Android). Fast forward to last week - I thought iOS would have made significant changes in 10 - 12 years, boy was I wrong. I bought the new iPad Mini with cellular with 256 GB storage last week for equivalent of well over USD 1,200 in my country. What a disappointment - pay extra for cellular and it still cannot make calls with its SIM card !!!!! No WhatsApp natively !!!! No telegram !!! I can't interact with my cellular provider to buy data bundles, and I cannot interact with or access my bank because the iPad cannot receive OTP one time codes by SMS !!!! Holy crap. I think the only change Apple has made in the last 10 years to iPad OS, is to give it a few widgets. Wake up Apple
It's insane how much horse power apples processors seem to have but they never do anything to innovate with it. They make all these amazing pieces of hardware, but they seldom even provide the software or user freedom to let them really use the device to it's fullest.
Thanks Tech Gear. Talk Great comparison. Very informative. Am definitely going for the tab s8 ultra (sorry Apple). Can you share a link for the stands you are using for the tablets
This vid showed on my timeline today so I watched it. My Tab S8 Ultra is linked to my S21 Ultra phone and I use it as my phone at home. I find I use it more than my TV for media, specifically when everyone in my home is sleeping, because I'm up till 4AM with my crazy work schedule. I also use it for drawing. I'm laughing because I've been using the Ultra since I got it in March and totally forgot it had a notch. Hopefully by the time the Tab S10 comes out it will have a brighter screen but it's still beautiful.
I think that’s the problem many here are refusing to see. All this talk about multitasking on a massive tablet with a weak processor. Being able to have RUclips, twitter, and instagram open all at once isn’t really multitasking.
Thanks. When you are comparing specs, it would be nice if you showed both specs on the screen at the same time, side by side. It makes it easier for us to retain and compare the numbers.
Definitely wouldn’t swap my iPad Pro 12.9 for this, not saying it’s a bad tablet it’s just that for watching videos Netflix and stuff the iPad Pro is almost perfect.
WiFi 6E is not faster than WiFi 6! It just adds a new 6GHz wave to reduce the interference with existing 5GHz networks. Speed-wise both are the same! People always have this misconception that newer SHOULD mean faster. Having 6GHz is great and much needed and future proofs the device but it won’t add speed and it definitely needs a WiFi 6E capable router in order to make use of it.

So tempted with the S8 Ultra over my IPad Pro M1 12.9. Especially as the M1 is being wasted in it. No full screen or multiple monitor support. The iPad feels like a unfulfilled promise.
Ipad pro is just a giant iPhone, no matter what OS it runs. It does some stuff really really well. It just can't do much. App support isn't the greatest on samsung tablet, sure, but if you actually want to multi task like a Windows tablet, the tab s8 ultra will win, every time. Ipad pro is just a shiny object IMHO.
I'm thinking about trading in my iPad Pro M1 11" for the Tab S8 Ultra. As much as I am committed to the Apple ecosystem, I find that I rarely ever use my tablet. I use my MacBook Pro most of the time, and Apple hasn't done the iPad any favors by wasting the power of the M1. I made the mistake of going with the smaller iPad Pro, so the screen is not as nice as the 12.9" mini-LED or the OLED on the S8 Ultra. Given that I don't even use most of the apps on the iPad, I think it may be time to make a switch. I know these Samsung tablets are legit.
@@BenClarkCEC I'm doing the stupid option which is to trade the iPad in to Samsung for $550. The 11" M1 sells for at least $750-800 right now, so it's taking a loss. If I were you, I would sell the iPad first on eBay or a local buy/sell/trade app, and then buy the Samsung tablet afterwards. The only reason I was willing to take a loss by trading in for a lower price is the free keyboard included with the Samsung tablet. It was a limited time deal, and the keyboard sells for $350. It wasn't worth it to me to be patient by selling the iPad on eBay.

Unfortunately I returned my iPad pro only because how complicated/limited the multitasking ability is. I really wanted to keep it but a week later I gave up. Multitasking on the iPad was more of a hassle to me. I think If the user is more into multitasking, then they should get Android tablets not iPads.
Same here. I find the iPad Pro multitasking very difficult to use and so many apps don't even support it so it's a non-starter quite often.
it’s such a catch 22, better apps yet terrible multitasking. So glad that Android is taking tablet seriously again and I hope after Luma Fusion, other big apps will make their way to Android tabs
@@neelsn007 Same I need goodnotes and Procreate.
I'll give an example:
Sending an image within the discord app in android is 1 press to open gallery, and 1 press to select photo.
Damn 🔥 lemme show this 👆🏼 comment to my Friend Rn.

@@ruzaroos Fair enough! I’m using an 11” iPad Pro, and for that size at least I find the extra height to be very useful.
Jerryrigeverthing did a bend test and it passed! Took Apple years to figure out how to make a thin tablet durable, Samsung doesnt have that issue!

@@KamaloExp there both amazing in there own ways I love em both but I like the feel of s pen way better in my opinion
The apple pencil has way less functionality than the s pen expecially Considering the price range
They are both good pens, no need to fanboy one over the other.
They're also cheaper at the time of replacement and you can find a lot more of third party options if it suits you better.
but Apple Pencil is still better for artists because of its better latency and pressure monitoring sensors

I really appreciate the feedback. Thank you for being part of the channel!
I only wish Samsung offered a 4:3 screen ratio tablet as I rarely watch video on a tablet, the added width for drawing does it for me. I like the S-Pen much more, you can feel it's Wacom technology, just nicer to draw with.
Just a note, the mic test on the s8 ultra have no audio
Android now does let you set app data and storage on a case by case basis to be either internal or on a micro sd card. Also the Samsung self powered SSD allows for super fast data transfer rates, and with AES256 built in.
I really liked the high information density of this video along with the mixture of real-world, down -to-earth, common man's use case based analysis
I bought the tab s8 ultra..do you think ipad pro is better for playing pubg??because i am bit confused.
Bad profesional then
I use an iPad Pro 2021 with Apple Pencil and a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra with Spen. I find the S Pen is far superior. Apple Pencil feels clunky and unnatural.
I came here just to compare speakers and
1- You didnt do a side by side test for me to judge
2- It was VERY hard to find in a 17min video. Please seperate into sections like latest utube videos
Now I need to buy both of these to compare for myself too. Thanks for the review!🔥
this comment really late but just to mention, 2:22 this feature is available on samsung, download samsung good lock and there will be an app that creates dead zones for edges, set a bixby routine to automatically toggle this on and off when you start/stop a game. Thanks for the video
I'm loving my Tab S8 + unbelievable tablet, great job Samsung.
man the S8 ultra is insane!
Stay with your 11”. In a few weeks, Apple may announce details on upcoming new iPads. From there, you can decide to keep or sell your 11”.
Buy Chromebook tab it's more smooth like MacOS
3:30 In Android developer settings, you can change a setting that allows you to put apps on external storage, it's called "force allow apps on external"
@NOYOU Thanks for this info.
For Apple its easy to give you all those software updates for a very long time because iOS is still almost the same than it was 10 years ago. I was a bit shocked when I moved from Android to an iphone.
does samsung provide the same longevity as apple
So which one is the best!!?
For maybe note taking and drawing, I would probably go for the s8 ultra as it comes with a bigger screen size and battery, it makes the screen look more clear and simple, the work gets done easily and I would also probably go for the s8 ultra for multitasking as with the keyboard, it looks like a laptop to me or almost it gives the look of a laptop with the keyboard attached. But I do like how the s8 ultra comes along the included s pen inside the box so you don't have to spend extra unlike the iPad.
Great video. Hope you start adding time stamps in your video so I can easily go to whichever category I want to see in the review
The benefit of FaceID, it works in the dark, but it would get annoying if you planning to use it outside wearing a mask.
@@zect556 yeah the mask thing is true. They have implemented mask mode face id in the iphones but the iPads haven't been getting that feature.
The ipad and samsung pro capabilities are oversold. Neither of them can replace a laptop.
Wait for new S8 stand to come out that won't block the screen. I have the stands he has and I'm waiting for a lower profile one
I am also with you
This vid showed on my timeline today so I watched it.
Imagine putting M1 on that massive tablet. That will definitely be a laptop replacement
Just wait for apples response to the S8. It'll be bonkers.
@Eddie K apple will just bring a better processor again, they won't add anything extra from previous ipad
I think that’s the problem many here are refusing to see. All this talk about multitasking on a massive tablet with a weak processor. Being able to have RUclips, twitter, and instagram open all at once isn’t really multitasking.
Informative, but what is the conclusion? Which is overall better.
Thanks. When you are comparing specs, it would be nice if you showed both specs on the screen at the same time, side by side. It makes it easier for us to retain and compare the numbers.
I was thinking the same thing
Definitely wouldn’t swap my iPad Pro 12.9 for this, not saying it’s a bad tablet it’s just that for watching videos Netflix and stuff the iPad Pro is almost perfect.
It’s crazy how much more the iPad Pro captures when u r on a zoom call. It seems to capture more of your warmer colors. Did anyone else notice that?
Yes. Ipad pro is much better
I appreciate the input, Frank.

for ipad i like the speakers and app ratios, for samsung tab's the style and display plus cameras
My issue with samsung has been updates which slow down the device for no reason within 6 months to 1 year of buying it. Apple doesnt have that problem.
*For a creator like me, the iPad Pro is a far better option cuz of the colour accurate screen and the better quality pen and the variety of creator apps especially the procreate, the Tab S8 Ultra feels like an entertainment only tablet, can't really take it as a professional creator tablet.*
the pen quality isnt that far apart and neither is the display quality, the samsung is even quite better
@@Mangakan_desu i tried both the pens, the samsungs pen is so low quality compared to apples, and samsung dont sell you nibs if urs break or wears off, they tell u to buy a whole new s pen at samsung, the display on the iPad Pro is waaaay more colour accurate and more professional for content creators, while the samsung's is just good for content consumption.
@@user-ie5ft9el2k no, you don't need to buy a new s-pen lol. There are thrid party nibs that can be used as replacements.
@@preciousemelogu5997 the third party ones are a hit or a miss most of the time from aliexpress with that fat shipping delay, while apple's nibs u can get the retail ones faster and lasts longer, and if im not mistaken u get some spare nibs with the apple pen
While u don't with the s-pen, and as i said earlier there's no way to buy retail s-pen nibs.
This is what you hear all the time from Apple fans. I do not agree at all. The SPen is way better for drawing, the Samsung OLED screen is way better than Apples, and once you use Clip Studio Pro you never need Procreate.
Great review. There was no Mic audio at 7:33 when you tested the S8 Ultra though
Thank you! See pinned comment for the link to the test. Thank you for being part of the channel!
Still photo quality is better from the cameras on the Galaxy, but the battery life is better on the iPad because of highly optimized iOS. Otherwise, both tablets have much in common and it mostly comes down to personal preference or integrates better with your devices.
But who even takes pictures on tablets?
does samsung provide the same longevity as apple
@@anu__04 Poorer battery life and slightly higher defect rate, so I would say Apple is better in that regard.
@@jamesjohnXII It's not about optimization. Samsung devices have far better/more usability/productivity options and b/c of that their laptops use more power.
@@hankmiller990 I feel that you replied to the wrong person
Use Galaxy Good Lock. You can modify touch zones.
When it comes down to smart home app compatibility, Android ecosystem is superior to Apple’s HomeKit. Just the pure fact that you have the freedom of expandable storage on the Tab 8 and the ability to side load apps means that you’re able to squeeze more usage out of your product.
It doesn’t have thunderbolt which can support so much more accessories like thunderbolt dongle
@@derekzhou4750 You don’t need thunderbolt when the Tab8 Literally turns into a fully functional desktop using Dex mode. Let’s see the iPad do that…. Android is still more versatile.
@@Gspec5 I know, but wish it does, such powerful tablet ruined by the fact it does not have thunderbolt, it’s like Apple limiting the M1 with iPadOS
@@derekzhou4750 Quite the opposite, the Tab8 has an expandable SD card slot so you can plug in your camera footage directly, not through a dongle. There’s not that much noticeable performance increase by using thunderbolt, it’s just like watching 4K & 8K video, the casual user can’t tell you what improvement they’re experiencing
@@Gspec5 Expandable storage is nice and all, but I could do the same thing with a dongle while having HDMI, USB A ports, even more thunderbolts and more, it is much more versatile in this regard, and if your MicroSD card slot somehow breaks (Like what happened to me a few times), just buy a dongle that doesn’t cost too much money
How well does the ULTRA communicates with a MacBook Air in terms of file sharing and as an additional monitor? Thanks in advance and congrats on the amazing video.
I'm here after it passed the durability test of zach from jerryrigeverything.
I’m a hardcore Apple everything, but I’m literally about to buy the S8 Ultra tomorrow! 🎉
I really want one feature that apple should release in IOS16 that now there also a sperate OS like DEX which would literally be sick and nice. Also which will help in multi tasking
Keep dreaming, apple will never bring that
@@swagger6166 ik ik
I kinda hate the concept of dex but better multitasking would be nice.
@Nielsf2704 if uouve ever tried dex you wouldn't say that. It really is amazing. I even use dex from my s21 ultra wireless to my 75 inch TV to view content and web browsing and a host of other things that I would do on my laptop.
@@dreadlockscayman I have tried dex with my s21u on an external monitor too, but I just prefer the iPad's more minimal simplistic UI. It works perfectly fine for tablet as well as when paired with a keyboard. Dex is really nice but I noticed some apps to not even work properly on dex anymore while in the regular mode, I experienced no issues.
Which would be more efficient for a college student? Which should be taken for training?
TGT: now let’s test the mics
Samsung: Hey!!
Apple: yup, no contest.

Is the Samsung tab s8 ultra suitable for streaming of smooth mkv files 1080p 10bit movies from a micro sd card? Please can someone advise me who has the tab and tested it and let me know many thanks
While I definitely prefer the ultra I will say I’m still not comfortable using the ultra for daily use, but it is an amazing second monitor
Awesome review. Non biased. Direct. Informative. You got a new subscriber! Thanks!
@@Greatscott24 how are you thinking of trading? I'd consider it but not sure how to go about it.
And the iPad's aspect ratio is still stuck in 2010 with big black bezel, narrow fov in games,... which annoys me a lot
