Its a great grill - I love the fact that the shape of the barrel is actually an oval vs. being round which means you have more room/height on the top rack for smoking larger cuts of meat vs. other brands that have round barrels and the second rack is very limiting due to low clearance from the lid. I use the second rack as much or more than the main rack. I did end up buying the optional front shelf and I think this is a must add for most users. The App sucks in that on busy weekends when a lot of people are smoking, Recteq does not provide enough bandwidth on their server so you will not get alarms (if you set up for temp alarms). So I can never feel comfortable doing a long overnight cook by just relying on the Recteq alarm notification and have started to use aa third party probe and temp. Monitoring and notification setup.
Bro, absolutely love that you take 3 shots of whiskey before your videos. I'm sold. I also came from traeger. My first love. But time for an upgrade!
Great RT videos. I have a Backyard Beast 1000 coming. Can't wait! Just fyi, when you hit the power button. The auger turns off and the fan runs to burn what's left in the fire pot. Then the auger runs to preload the fire pot for your next cook. Happy smoking.
Great video. I have the 1250. Love it as well. One thing I had to do after my assembly, I had the horn handles on upside down. I just noticed that you do too. 😅 Keep on smoking! 🐂
I looked at that the other day 😆
"it drips" :) Priceless.
You don't use the top rack? It's the best option for everything other than searing. You'll get better smoke circulation and more even cooking up there, plus you can put a pan or even just a cookie sheet on the bottom rack beneath the meat, capturing the smoked juices for your sauce and making cleanup easier.
Ok so I just made ribs on the top rack, you have convinced me to use it! Thanks!!
Recteq baby!
I choose a dual fire!
Still a but torn between the flagship 1100 and RT 1250. Really like the front shelf included on the 1250 currently.
I've read the grease bucket doesnt allign properly on the 1100 for some people.
Have you had any issues with this?
I haven’t had any issues at all.
As a proud owner of a 1250 with the smokebox (which the flagship can't have), I have been ore than pleased. I have owned for 20 months with over 220+ hours use in all kinds of weather, I have never been let down. Are there things I wish would change? Better Wheels, hopper dump, that;s about it. Oh and I use the second shelf all the time. I place ribs, brisket, and whatever I can place on there to get the smoke to hit the food from all over.
@muthergoose4084 The same smokebox from the 1250 fits on the flagship.
You are @donutoperator’s long lost brother
Haha, if only I had as many subscribers
Looks delicious...CHEF JESSIE!
This was weird. I gave you a 👍 and it show 1 and then back to 0 😮 🤔
Did you get the front shelf after? And was it hard to install?
No I didn’t. Apparently they don’t make one for the 1100 but the one in the showroom had one and other people have got them also. I don’t need one so I haven’t looked into it.
Christmas dinner at Jesse's house! 🤤
😂 I’d love to host
It says made in China on the box, but I love it anyway
What shelf did you put on this?
I didn’t put a shelf. The one in the showroom has ones but Idk which shelf it is
Smoke your pork butt or brisket over a pot of baked beans next time. Your welcome.
Oh man! Yes!!
If you're not gonna use that traeger can I have it lol
Haha, I made it into a portable grill that we take camping
It's not Chinese made, I personally know the man who makes these grills.
They are definitely made in China
Most certainly is made in China - Recteq used the GA facility now just for distribution and all mfg is made in Asia.
It says made in China on the box it comes in
Absolutely made in china
As far as Chinese junk goes it’s OK, I’d buy a Lone Star or Pitts and Spitz instead
I’ll have to look those up
Lend me that extra $1000 and I'll get one.
As long as she smokes even and taste good all I care about
I've been window shopping LSGs. For the same cooking capacity, you're going to need another $3,000.
