This genuinely makes me appreciate this game even more, the amount of detail that went into every single one of those stages is insane! Especially for a 2004 release!
always wanted to explore these 3D era MK games' stages in my early years. as a young boy i thought there were many secrets and things to find behind these stages, now as a grown man I see that there are nothing to see just textures and emptiness hahah :)
I love the stages in this game, they're so detailed yet liminal. I love that the moon looks like it has eyes. Also House of Pekara is probably the prettiest stage in any fighting game ever.
Just imagine they knew people were going to free cam this and ended up detailing the life out of the stages before we did this. This is genuinely the greatest mortal kombat. Remaster this Ed Boon
i just realized ive been trying to apply your mods for older 3d games to no success sadly, BUT I NOTICED YOURE WHO MADE THE MANHUNT 2 PC mods im using. you're so incredibly talented please never stop
The Portal stage looks absolutely crazy when you fly up to the top of the stage. I always thought it was a bit strange how on the Wu Shi Academy there is no water underneath the Canvas but in the MKDA Intro you can clearly see water when Liu Kang is fighting Shang Tsung.
DA had some really good stage design. A real shame none of them have fatalities. Also It would help you a lot for making these vids if your free cam hack had a fov option
Do you happen to have a way to extract the audio for these games by any chance? I've tried several methods to get the audio with no luck and the audio I did find were incomplete. Would love to use some of the clips as I always loved the sound design of the 3d era MK games.
i don't really have any dedicated sound extraction stuff but you can use github.com/ermaccer/msltool (would need to compile yourself) then use MFAudio on the resulting .sfx files (compressed ADPCM, offset 4) to convert/play the audio
If you ever do find a way to do for this game I know there are definitely some tracks that really would be fought for. But in deception I would kill for the Konquest Netherrealm track, that one is just too legit
03:32 playing MKDA for almost 20 years maybe and I never noticed those monks in the background hahah :D Instead of just copy pasting photos,They should have made them actual models roaming around the arena, like the guards in Deception's Courtyard stage

04:47 this is why DragonFly is the best arena, its the most authentic, an actual moving platform

even though I suck at them, MKA and MKD are my favorite Mortal Kombat games and I love replaying them from time to time.
This is genuinely how MK should feel. MK1 stages are so clean and shiny it doesn't resemble MK at all.
