Yes, please do more of these videos!
Will do!!
Your 2nd chateau is Chateau de la Ferte and they have a youtube channel of their renovations.
I thought I recognized it!...a shame they had to sell it.
Just bought as forever home .... please be sure you can live without a takeaway next doors and know if you have money (not credit) to spend, life is too short.
Less is often more !
@@unojayc don't think they sold it: ruclips.net/video/d6GHG8ev40o/видео.html It might be possible this is still the original advertisement as brookers keep some examples as an eyecatcher to attrack more potential buyers to there site and portfolio.
they sell
you are right, it's on the market as Dan stipulated in his video. The reason is they miss there family in the UK....... @@artnodulot1525
Yes please yes please yes please more chateau videos❤❤❤
Can you do one on manor houses ?...thanks!!
What shall we set the starting budget at?
£400k...?..Like you mentioned, some manor houses are like a small chateau, so possibly something that is more manageable?..great videos and your knowledge and insights are very helpful.
Thank you, I will start work on the research !!
Interesting to hear your quick take as you go through, I’d enjoy more info about the areas of each prop as you map it out…thanks!
Noted!
This was so interesting! Thanks so much for your research and information.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is great and much appreciated. You should do all price ranges. Very interesting. Thanks
Thanks for the idea!
Great video Dan! Very well presented. I agree that, indeed, the difference of 100K gets out more suitable chateaus. Maybe it can be a good idea to higher up the budget each time with 50K or 100K to find out what the real estate market can offer for this kind of castles? Another idea is that it may be a good idea to keep these videos up to date so that your channel becomes a kind of barometer of the castle market in France. Just some ideas :) Greetings Frank
Well certainly worth thinking about ! Thank you
Hi Dan. It would be excellent to have a video on financiers, loans, and real estate VC who specialize in Castle Restorations.
Hi @HollywoodRoyalty, I could, but it would be more of a #short as the system is completely different here. Simply if you are not in the French System, or you have been less than 6 months, then the French banks will not finance you, whether that be a chateau or a normal house, or even a car!
More please. Great series. Keep raising the high end. Love seeing the chateau.
On it!
Yes please, 750K would be great!

I enjoyed your content. Yes. Please do videos showing up to 1 million eros.
Will do!
Good video, great to look at the various chateau s,👍 From Frances uk
more such videos - and by public demand for higher prices - so crypto hodlers also can find a way to spend their fortune
Crypto currrency has never really taken of in France (Thank god) so maybe you might need to find a way of changing it first?
The one for €583,000 includes a rock pit as a neighbor. Where they do blasting.also needs a roof, etc.
thanks for the info, admittedly it has been on the market quite a while
@FrenchEstateAgent yup, you can buy it and the whole hamlet that goes with it for under 1 million. Plus, it needs a roof, badly. Lots of leaks. The whole place is fabulous, but for the gravel pit. Looks like this one will not be saved. A tragedy.
Oh, and I forgot, it also includes a few hi dred acres if farmland.
Wonderful pithy assessments! You *are* going to do 600k - 1m next, right...?? 😉👍
Nah..... Think I am going to stick a 750K in there first! 😎
Well there has been cases of chateaux being taken down stone by stone and rebuilt elsewhere...... just an idea 😂😎
Hi Dan, what do you think of the Nievers region in Burgandy?
Bourgogne Franche Comté is a region I would like to see more of, I have only travelled through it, it seems very pleasent, but unfortunately I can't say much more than that
Second home tax on these will be a few bob.
Maybe not as bad as you think.... Other option is to move over!
600,000€ - is that the price for a beach hut in Dorset??
Probably, but the upkeep is less!
Could you possible tell me what the tax would be on one of these places at time of purchase, as well as approx. what the yearly tax would be after purchase? Thanks in advance!😊🙏🏻
Hi Axel, the taxes on the purchase are included in the notary's fees, these are a sliding scale and has departmental variations. But as a rough guide is 7% on top for the notary and taxes included.
As for the yearly taxes after the purchase, you have the taxe fonciere, and this will vary greatly from one commune to another. It depends on the services available in the commune and the size of your property. So could go from 500 to 15000 euros or more.
Dan,
Thanks for the tax info!
Mostly I guess I am afraid of the restoration costs and upkeep costs!
😬
