    Like others have said, this video explained so much that i wasn't getting from other videos as most of them started with a large amount already done. My starting row was where i was having trouble and this fixed it for me!

    Love the tip about wrapping a purl stitch the opposite way to tighten up the stitch when going from knit to purl on left side of cables! Thanks! ❤

    I agree with the other comments on here, I've watched other videos on here trying to learn different styles of knitting, and being a beginner it's hard to keep up with some of them cause they go so fast and you made it seem so easy to cable knit. I would listen to each step then pause the video and do them. I don't have a hook to hold my stitches so I used another ball of yarn to hold the needle with the stitches I took off and after knitting the two I would just put the other two stitches back on my needle I took them off of but wasn't sure I could do that but you answered my question when you did it and it makes it easier to do but I will be getting me a hook when I do make something with a cable knit in it, cause it is kinda hard doing it the way I'm doing right now but I'm just practicing right now but now know how to do the cabling thanks to you. You made it so simple to understand and learn, wonderful teacher, thank you once again!

    Thankyou! I've watched quite a few cable tutorials and yours is by far the simplest, no fuss, easy to understand and clearly explained. Why people have to over complicate things is beyond me. They show you the cable row and then day do the next however many then start again. Did they mean do the next x amount the same as the one I've just done? Do I need to cable? Not cable? I completely understand that when you can cable it's obvious what they mean BUT we're here because we don't know and are trying to learn!
    Sorry for the rant, you are like a breath of fresh air and I really appreciate your help. Definitely a new subscriber, look forward to learning more with you. Blessings to you xXx

    Thank you for this very clear demonstration. How does one measure gauge in cable stitch?

    • @RokoleeDIY
      @RokoleeDIY  6 лет назад +1

      Thank-you :) I haven't got a tutorial on it myself, but you basically have to knit a swatch of the full cable pattern and measure the gauge as you normally would. The pattern you're following should give you information on gauge. This page is very handy if you need help: kelbournewoolens.com/tips-and-tricks/swatching-in-cable-pattern Thanks for watching!

    The one thing that would have made this terrific tutorial even better would have been to also post the knit patterns for each of the rows.

    Does stokinette and reverse stockinette mean plain and purl?

    • @RokoleeDIY
      @RokoleeDIY  2 года назад

      Stockinette and reverse stockinette are where you alternate between knit stitch rows and purl stitch rows (when flat knitting, not knitting in the round)
      - but with stockinette, the knit rows are the right side rows (the front) and in reverse stockinette the purl rows are the right side rows instead :)
