Kelly, when you wiped your finger across Luke's forehead you reminded me of my Mom when I was a kid about his age. We lived on an acreage north of Stony Plain, Alberta and summers were spent on mini-bikes finding fishing holes to catch Perch or Pike, shooting gophers (we used to get .10 cents a tail from the Province) or rabbits and dreaming about Moose and Deer hunting. I know you're young but the way you act with those boys, you are a fine Mom!

Yes Sir, that certainly is a 100% Florida ( or southern ) boy, lol. Before I begin the video, I grew up Florida & Alabama running around barefoot. As a young adult, I continued to do it. I only wore shoes where I absolutely had to. Hot sand didn't phase me. I could stand on sun baked, hot asphalt longer than anyone. But eventually, I over-did the bare footing. The callouses on the soles of my feet grew so thick & hard, they began to crack & split, all the way up into the tender flesh. The pain was almost unbearable. Took a long time to heal up & get rid of those callouses. Weeks of lotion & foot soaks. Needless to say, I don't barefoot to the extreme anymore, lol. On with the show.

You know the storm that was coming is what made those big bass bite so good. It’s the pressure drop I think. I can’t even count the times the same thing happened to me. It got to the point I would have everything ready to go and would take off to the lake ahead of a severe weather alert. I got caught out in storms just about every time I went bad storms but I also caught many many big bass on those trips. I always made it home and I guess I was lucky at least that’s what everyone said that saw the pictures of my fish with lightning strikes in the background. I learned not to cancel a bass fishing trip because of the weather in the spring but to plan to go and be there just ahead of the storm with a good rain suit and everything tied down in the boat.
