Dude, I was very surprised. I've typically been a morimoto guy, but my 2 stroke 1.0 and 2.0 didnt last longer than a year in the outback and were a pain in the ass. Going to be picking up additional sets for the outback with how these worked out. 👌
Thanks buddy, miss you guys too. Back at subaru selling cars so it's been eating up a lot of time. Hope once the garage is back together I'll have some time for videos again 🙏
Big ups on the 2k clear. IMO it lasts a LOT longer than a standard sealer, and takes wax/ceramic coating better. Love how the lego progress is turning out
2k is the way 👌 I shot this video about a month ago 😱 and applied a second coat of the sealant a few days afterward, followed by some ceramic. They still look perfect, but I'll continue to reapply UV sealant every few months to keep them protected.
Beginning to think you retired from the you tube. So your one of those guys I can’t stand to pass at night. You can see fine and I can’t see anything at all. Ready for next video.
Haha nah, not retired, just trying to structure things financially in the background a bit. The cutoff is good so I don't think they're too bad on other drivers, but they do make leds that are nearly twice as bright as these that might be a little more painful 😵 Appreciate it man, thank you 🙏
I really need to do this to my '05 Hawkeye headlights. Interested to see how these look after a few more months, so please post an update for us. Thanks Mat!
No problem man, Definitely 👌 as long as you reapply every couple months on the sealant, they should hold up well. The 2k option is a more permanent route that requires less maintenance for longevity. 🤙
Nah youd be good 👍 Issue is normally people putting hids/ leds in reflector headlights, or poorly aligned reflector headlights, which happens way too often 😆
Big improvement! I just resurfaced mine a month ago, so happy I did. I used the drill attachment for the sanding and buff (really saved my arm!). That rounded dome bit in them middle around the main light was tough though because of the angle where it meets the flush part of the lens. Might need to redo it with the sealant though. The product said it had protectant in it, but I'm thinking a proper topcoat/seal would be good. I kinda hate when the LEDs drive behind me...but I might have to get on that bandwagon...
Yeah that part was pretty annoying to keep even. I reapplied the sealant a couple of days after, and plan to apply it again every 90 days or so to keep things protected, but may go with the 2k on the next set I do, as it requires a lot less upkeep. 👌
@@vannevels6758 it's the jdm hid setup. They're high quality and becoming more and more rare, kind of cool and different, but they do have the cutoff on the wrong side, so require some modification to make proper for US use.
Thanks, man. I hope you all had fun at bnw. Wasn't able to make it this year. I started a new job recently, so I am getting finances back on track and then hope to be able to have things set up to keep making content in the future and doing more to the cars. I'll be putting out a little update soon for people on what all is going on, life update, etc. Appreciate you, dude 🙏
@@MatlasDI for sure man, I totally get needing to buckle down and get stuff in order! You were missed but I was there repping LGT wagons! Too few of us, but maybe that's what makes them feel so special! Looking forward to whatever content you come out with, just glad you're doing alright. ✌️

Very nice job! I need to do this to my oxidized '05 OBXT headlights. No way I'm paying $200-$300 in headlights if can be done.. Hey Mat, my ej20x swap is almost ready!
Aye, let's go 🎉🎉 look forward to seeing it run 👌 100% can do it yourself to whatever results you're looking for, and learning how is nice for other forms of clear plastic as well. I linked a bunch of different products, as well as an all in one kit from cerakote, which we've used and had good results with fairly quickly.
@rpdallast5965 Hey, I've been weighing things out for a bit now.. I'm on hiatus from videos while I fix up my house and focus on some other aspects of life. Been a tough call, and I will wind up back at it at some point. Just don't know when that will fit into my life at this time, unfortunately 😔
Nah, I was actually going to write an update on that. Bulbs had flickering issues for a bit. Thought it was an issue on my part with the connection, then one bank on the passenger side bulb went out, so it was only illuminating half. Further research on the brand I found it doesn't appear they make their own products. The marking on these are actually from a different company entirely, just rebranded. Further checks and research.... Chinese rebrand. Do not recommend. They were very bright, that's about all I'll say about them. Stick to a good hid kit, or leds like morimoto/ diode dynamics. I will also add I did not try to contact them for warranty, so I can't fully state if it would have been taken care of by them or not. This was a product test/ review with products provided at no cost by them. I just didn't want to mess with it and switched back to companies I've used in the past after finding out the products I was sent aren't actually manufactured by them. 🤙
@Van Nevels I'd say personal preference. If you want them perfect, take your time and do this, if you're trying to save time and money and just clean em up a good amount the cerakote all in one isn't a bad kit. That's what we normally use to improve all the cars we pick up over on smeedia.
I believe that's just the camera doing it injustice, because we've used both methods on probably over 20 different headlights at this point. The sealant made it look abnormal before it was completely cured in camera. However, from having used the cerakote lens restore kit as well, it is a hell of a kit. 👌
Can't wait to see what you do next. I'm working on my own 05 outback xt and your content has been a source of inspiration. I've always loved this car and i never really comment on this account, but it's exciting for me just getting into it all the things there are to learn. Here and waiting for the 05 wagon gang, and cheers to the future, whatever it may hold ✌️🤙
Nice, have wanted to try them out for a while. I liked my 2.0s, but for some reason they failed within a couple of months in both thr headlights and one of the foglights. I'll have to test out the 3.0s in the future 👌
Definitely. Has been a month now since filming and no issues. I do always recommend if not using 2k clear to apply the sealant a couple times within the first week, allow full cure (24-48hrs) before washing, and then reapply every 90 days for continued results and UV protection.

@RobertSavello still doing well, I should have continued sealing them to get the best results, so there's a little yellowing coming back due to lack if uv protection.
