Because I’m first comment, I just want to say Thank you for all your recipes and Amazing attitude! Also, if you can show us how to make potato gnocchi that would be great ❤
I just baked this recipe, and it yields a wonderful product - slightly crunchy on the outside with a light as a feather interior and the most lovely lemony flavor ever. I thank you, Mr. P. Kitchen, so much.
I have been making different flavored scones over the last month and i have to say that your lemon blueberry recipe is the best of them all. My boys overwhelming love that one. I am sure that I will have to try this one as well!
I absolutely love that idea of rubbing the sugar and lemon peel between your fingers. Anytime making lemon baked goods it seems hard to get the lemon flavor really infused in there.
Kalimera from Crete, John. Another wonderful recipe with lemon flavor! I haven't had scones since I was in high-school and we made them in Home Economics class...I'm 60! I think I'll make them. Thank you for your amazing recipes and your presentations. You are my favorite and easy to follow. ❤
Use frozen butter and cheese grater(larger holes). And a tablespoon of baking powder works too. Anywhere from 2 to a full tablespoons. So if your don’t feel they puffed as much as you want, try that.
Cannot wait to try this recipe. Made the cinnamon roll recipe this week of yours. We loveee all the extra tips you always provide, we learn lots of tips. Also love your San Sebastian burnt cheesecake (made that too) 🥰
If baking on a hot day, instead of freezing the chilled butter, chill your flour mixture or start with cold ingredients. This insures the butter stays hard, but still workable. Personally, I don't cube the butter. I grate it on the big holes of a cheese grater, then freeze if it's a hot day. Working with chilled ingredients always helps. 💕🌞🌵😷
Could you make these and add blueberries? My senior neighbor loves blueberry Scones from the store but they are about $6 for 4. I'd love to make them for her.
I have had it on good authority from a Brit that made and sold them (and homemade lemon curd) at our popular Farmer's Market that it is pronounced "SKON" not "SKONE."
Finally.. the shorter video already aired 5-7 months ago.. Waiting patiently for this ones.. Finally.. Thank you so much for the recipe.. Thank you very much..
Just love watching your videos. On the Lemon Scones, why did you use Vanilla Extract vs. Lemon Extract? Would it just be too much ? Thanks for all you do.
You’re supposed to scrape the lemon on the microplane and let it fall into the bowl. At least that’s how i’ve seen most pro chefs do it. But both work so you do you.
The second you put a cakes worth of sugar in the bowl this became a non-scone recipe. Even sweet scone mixture should be light and buttery and the sugar component is just going to make the dough denser than it needs to be and impede rising. I hate the way Americans think these hockey pucks of sugar are scones. I've been cooking professionally for 30 years, written ten cookbooks, and I've been making scones for even longer so i know what I'm talking about. Do you know how much sugar should go into 3 cups of flour? Two tablespoons at most.
Not to be disrespectful to your professional skills, but part of the charm of baking or cooking anything, is making a recipe your own. We all have different taste buds. These scones sound divine to me! I will definitely make them! 🥰 Thanks as always Preppy Kitchen!

I love when you say “whisk, whisk, whisk” as you stir with the whisk.
These look absolutely delicious, not as complicated as I thought making scones would be! Thank you for the recipe John!!
I've made a very similar variety with orange zest, craisins and some white chocolate chips. So good.
So many lemons 🍋 so little time !

All I could think was that your hands must smell amazing after rubbing the zest into the sugar. ❤ 🍋
TY for the closeup while zesting, good hints 👍🏻
Oh I’ve been wanting to make scones
Your scones’ recipes are the best! I can wait to make these!
Flour varies all over the country. If your scones come out too dense, substitute 1/2 cake flour. 💕🌞🌵😷

I love scones! My last batch came out too cake-like. I think your scones recipe will be proper scones. Gonna make these soon.
Try CLOTTED CREAM as the British do. We tried it when we traveled there. Yummmm!

Hi
i need a diabetic playlist from you john 😂
Can you use normal milk if you don't have buttermilk?
Hey John! Are scones and turnovers the same thing or different?
Very different
No currants?
John, I can't create an account on your website because the banner ad on the bottom of the page is blocking the "sign up" portion of the pop-up 😩

Hilarious. English scones aren’t made with egg.
He never said they are English scones
