    This almost 200 years before Game of Thrones so everyone is about 9 generations removed from the first series (older characters are 9 generations removed, some younger ones 8 generations). -Remember how 100 year old Maester Aemon said his father was King Maekar? Maekar was the grandson of Rhaenyra’s grandson - put another way…Maester Aemon’s grandfather was Rhaenyra’s great-grandson.

    Apparently they aren’t in a rush to do a show on Robert’s Rebellion and the Mad King because the game of thrones audience already knows the outcome due to the show covering that a lot. However, I do agree they should adapt that because it has younger versions of a lot of the characters in game of thrones…people are going to love it

    • @Aewon84
      @Aewon84 Год назад +5

      In my opinion Robert's Rebellion is the worst of all prequel ideas. I'd rather see the Blackfyre Rebellions, Aegon's Conquest and Maegor's reign, Dunk & Egg, Stark VS Grey Stark, Century of Blood, Ten Thousand Ships, Nine Voyages of Corlys Velaryon, the unification of Dorne (which would be a sequel show to Ten Thousand Ships), a Valyria show, the Reyne-Tarbeck Rebellion and a show that takes place in Asshai before Robert's Rebellion.
      Some of these, like Stark VS Grey Stark and Century of Blood are my own ideas. I really want a show that's primarily about the Starks, and their war with the Grey Starks and the Boltons would be a great idea for a show. I would also include the Night's Watch and a wildling invasion and perhaps the Manderly exile to the north. And dire wolves. All the Starks, both black and grey, should have a dire wolf companion.
      The Century of Blood is basically just Game of Thrones: Essos Edition. There are even White Walkers! Well, Red Walkers. It comes from a theory I have that maybe the Doom of Valyria was caused by the blood mages of Valyria. They sought divinity and sacrificed all of Valyria to do it. They then turned into something similar to White Walkers, except they are creatures of fire, not ice.
      There's also dragons! The Targaryens brought five dragons to Dragonstone. A century later only one of them is still alive. This show could explore what happened to the other four. Vhagar and Meraxes were born on Dragonstone, and are therefore not among the five.

    When Daemon said heir for a day.. he really wasn't being an asshole. When you know him after the end of the season or several episodes. you'll understand his personality. Idk the word.. his mind thought. He really feels horrible for what happened and for his brother. He wasn't happy because he was heir again. Because like I said before.. he doesn't care to be the king 👑 he is happy with the power he has now. And when the throne cuts the king 👑 it's a symbol that the King 👑 is a weak King. The hand of the King 👑 Otto is a manipulative maggot 🪰 he hates and is threatened by Daemon, he knows Daemon knows what he really is. Yes Daemon is nuts 🥜 but in a good way. He would never not be loyal to his family. He would do whatever it took to protect his brother, niece.. well the entire Targaryen family. And or legacy.

    The actor that plays Corly Velaryon the seasnake got so much hate for being a black Valyrian. He got racial slurs, hate mail, & death threats. The fandom really showed their racism & it was so ridiculous the creators said they did it so non book readers could differentiate between houses Targaryen & Velaryon since they look the same in the books.
    Daemon is definitely a complicated character he invented the gold cloaks as we knew them in GOT. He’s the author GRRM’s favorite character in the whole thing. Just to clarify, the end of GOT has nothing to do with the prophecy of this episode. The prophecy, this show itself, are totally based on the book Fire and Blood. While the last seasons of GOT have no basis, just bad writing and fan service. In the books Jon is just a DEAD bastard. And the prophecy is serious and cohesive, something that in the show was never a thing.

      @@officialyoungmari Neither of those have been confirmed by George RR Martin. Benioff and Weiss said that he told them to have Stannis burn Shireen. But in the books it would go completely against his character. Yes, he tried to burn Edric Storm, but he wasn't his child. Besides, they didn't listen to any other of his suggestions for Season 5, so it would be strange if they listened to this one thing.
      Bran becoming King of the Seven Kingdoms is also not happening. For one, he's 9 at the end of Dance. Tommen became king at the age of 8 because he was the heir. No one's going to vote for a 9-year-old. If he becomes king it will be as a Weirwood King north of the Wall.
      I believe that Jon Snow is going to become King of the Seven Kingdoms. George RR Martin is critical of Aragorn becoming king at the end of TLotR, but it's not that he becomes king he's critical of. It's that everyone just assumes that just because he's a great soldier he'd make a good king. With Jon Snow we see that he has a good mind for leadership, so when he does become king it's not such a leap to think that he'll be a good, or even great, king. In fact his entire arc seem to be building towards it. He was made Jeor's personal steward when he expected to become a ranger. He's later made Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. I don't think he's going to be King in the North in the books, but he might become Rickon's regent.
      The Starks are going to rule most of the kingdoms when everything is said and done. I don't see Rickon dying in the books, so he'll get Winterfell. Sansa is probably getting the Vale. Jury's still out on whether Arya gets anything. Personally, I hope she marries Edric Dayne. House Dayne is one of my favourite lesser houses.

    • @DaKidsReact
      @DaKidsReact  10 месяцев назад +1

      We are defending Otto at this point because Daemon came to King’s Landing and was acting crazy. The first scene we see of him when Rhaenyra meets him in the lobby, he was sitting on the throne(red flag). He then does what he does the with the soldiers of the City Watch and makes a smirk remark about Viserys child that just passed away.
      Yes, Otto did bring up his wife and his marriage first which wasn’t needed. He definitely took a shot at Daemon there. Daemon sees Otto as a snake as Otto sees Daemon as an uncontrollable threat to the realm (and his personal interest as we didn’t know because it was the reaction to the first episode).
      I’ve said this plenty of times too, the way Otto went about having Alicent “comfort” Viserys was really weird but all girls knew that their father’s decided who they would marry. So I wouldn’t go as far as calling it “pimping”. He wanted to make sure Viserys married his daughter, and that’s one of the opportunities he took up being as so he didn’t have more to offer than other houses.
      Please keep in mind as you watch the reaction we haven’t watched or read books prior to watching this series. So we blindly jumped in and had no prior knowledge of the characters, houses, or teams to have bias toward characters.

      @@DaKidsReact Again i think you like most judge Daemon too quickly which i get, but most realise his true intentions by episode 3 or 4. I'm no book reader either and saw Otto as a snake as soon as he put his daughter into that position. It also explains why she's always anxiously picking the skin around her nails & clearly was forced to visit the king most nights "If you wish it". Allicent becoming the wife of Visery the way she did, and her face during "nights when king request her presence" shows she was pimped out to give the king a male heir. That's only reason why Otto suggested Rhaenyra be named heir, to give him time. Daemon has been heir for 9 years in episode 1 which is why i took his words to Visery seriously. Only Otto and the maester complained about Daemons actions and being heir. Daemon being bit ruthless to criminals wasn't an alarm for me either as he explained it all in the meeting & is commander of the city watch.
      By the end of this episode i could see Otto for the snake he is, that without me knowing what he does in future and all i heard about Daemom was who he marries and loves later on. I did keep in mind your new to this but i also thought you were big GOT fans, which means you have experience with snakes and how people plot in Kings landing.
      Daemon made it clear for me when he explained Otto being a second son and out for himself, Daemon also complained about not being Viserys HAND not heir. Daemon clearly is a drama queen and wants to be more valued by his brother instead of sent away by Ottos advive who also know Daemon hates him and can't be mainpulated like Visery. Otto also finds that out with Rhaenyra in 1x02, and gave her a dirty look when she solved the issue with egg, he saw her as a problem and a real threat, someone who can't be controlled by him.
      Visery as a father also made me hate Otto way more, because it's such a contrast to a father who truly cares and one who sees his daughter as a porn, a chess piece, like even Allicent realises too late.
      Each episode showed clear signs who the real threat to the thrown is. Rhaenyra knows the prophecy and is the kings named heir. Going against that is treason, so Otto just getting fired was lucky. Regardless of who Rhaenyra slept with, Otto plotted to replace the kings chosen heir. The kings word is law, the hand betrayed his king and future queen in episode 3 & 4. Keep in mind he probably does much more behind the scenes too since his grandson was born.

      @@shannyd1 I agree with much that you are saying but this is looking at Otto as a character throughout the whole show with bias. I know you said you seen him as a snake at the end of episode 1 because of certain things he did and said, which we can agree with you on but we didn’t believe he was a complete snake. He brought up valid points about Daemon and at this point Daemon voiced things but we didn’t see that come full circle.
      We are big GOT fans so we understand the manipulation and slimy things that happened with series like this. It’s just the first episode so drawing conclusion and holding it throughout the show without enough seeing enough would look more biased than anything. Daemon at the start of this made himself look pretty bad due to the way he went about things, he was rebellious and showed interest in gaining more power. Otto did a better job at hiding his true intentions and spouted out things in a very particular way. We seen the “comforting” Viserys as pretty wild especially with it being right after the funeral.
      But yeah we understand what you are saying with the whole concept of Otto’s character but this is the first episode so we didn’t have the knowledge of all this from just watching this episode.

      @@DaKidsReact I completely disagree about Daemon seeming to want more power though, it was clear he was all about family by what he said in private and in person. Whereas Otto said other things in private away from the king. I suppose we all catch on differently and i have been known to predict and see things in shows before it happens, so maybe im just better at judging characters. Daemon never across as a threat to his family or the throne to me. He woupd have killed Visery during those 9 years if it was all about power. It never was, he wanted to protect it from the vultures and be valued more by his big bro. Even the toast to Baby Baelon wasnt done disrespectfully, Otto made it seem like Daemon celebrated but the whole time he seemed down and sad until he made his speech which included a toast to prince Baelon.
      Guess i hoped you would wise up about Otto by episode 4, 5 max but once you defended him over Rhaenyra who was speaking facts about Otto, i knew you couldn't see his scheming at all.

      @@shannyd1 Daemon was quite literally a problem coming back and doing all those things in a short period of time. And the remark he made could have been said in a better fashion at a better time in a better place. So in a way it was disrespectful. The speech also straddled the line between paying homage and also boasting about Baelon passing away for him not being chosen as heir. Maybe you are better at reading characters but Daemon sure seemed like he wanted power especially when the first shot we see of him is him sitting on the throne and then doing certain acts afterwards.
      Also, we seen some of his scheming at that time but we weren’t fully grasping everything so true. But Rhaenyra also had lied about her interaction with Daemon and Sir Cole while swearing on her deceased mother. So that also shown us her character in a way. So we did wise up in a way but just not in the way most people wanted us to.
