I don't think iphones will be replaced by a headset. Some people prefer to use an iphone including me and it is just more convenient to use, but I can see the potential for a headset but just not as a replacement. It will benefit the Android market if Apple takes this decision.

Well, that's what people said about old phones with the physical keyboards and thought that the iPhone was stupid.
I think that prediction is way too aggressive, if they are thinking of maximizing the profit then why would they make the phones and watches obsolete when in fact they are earning a lot with these line of products separately :)

I would not like to wear something on my head to replace what the iPhone could do now. Imagine us walking around with something on our head all the time. Many people wear glasses now, so if the product can replace glasses, then that would replace my iPfhone if it had all the features I need now to carry on work related tasks.

I think that corporations copy from each other and in this point of view, Apple does have really nice possibilities to add new features to future iPhones, having in mind what Samsung has done. The easiest and already done features, could be an iPhone that flips like Z Flip, as well as they could potentially introduce iPhone with stylus like S22 Ultra. Furthermore Samsung has a competitive advantage in many areas, for example Energy Sharing feature. Generally, I don't belive this is the end of iPhone line. Look at the marketshare for smartphones currently. There is no way Apple gives up.
Smartphones have already replaced so many tech.

It won’t hurt none if they do cause you’ll still get updates all most 7 years so they will give you some time to find out what you won’t to do. When Apple do something they all ways have a back up plan for sure, so you’ll still be ok for a few years with the iPhones and Watches.
I disagree with the "headsets will make iPhones obsolete" take for one single reason: iPhones are much easier to carry around.
There's plenty of room for improvement with iPhone, some of which will come with newer tech advancements. The obvious one- an all-screen front panel. Goodbye notch and goodbye ridiculous island. Brightness will improve, efficiency will improve, graphics will improve, speed will improve.. to the point where tasks that take 30 seconds now to complete will be 30 milliseconds. And the cameras. Is this a trick question? The LENS FLAIR.. the Green Orbs at night. That should've been fixed years ago. The periscope zoom is coming, but even that will have room for improvement. 48mpxl for the zoom.. and for the ultrawide. Being able to shoot using the full 48mpxl without also having to be in pro raw with the huge file sizes. Low light performance and HDR can always be improved. Yes, even Apple's "amazing video" can still be improved. Even today I sometimes see video be a little glitchy here and there. That can be improved lol. Durability can take even more steps forward. How bout true split screen/dual apps? never lol.
So yea, I see room for continual incremental improvements. Idk what the next "big thing" will be though, outside of the periscope zoom.

I’m a VR gaming enthusiast-
I don’t think AR/VR is anywhere near capable as being mass market AND replacing phones at all. It’s still niche and expensive with developing methods of function.
Trust me I’d like to see it, but I don’t think we’ll see that for at least many years.

There will always be new features added to new phone models- same goes for cars, consoles and any product on the market, pretty much. Evolution is natural and it is a part of life.
AR/VR could be the next best thing, maybe… maybe not (look at Meta 😉) We’ll see!

VR is not replacing the smartphone in one generation. It just isn't. Maybe in another 5-10 years, closer to 10, when the device can be miniaturized to the degree that it can basically fit into anything, including contemporary style eyeglass frames or sunglasses at most, in addition to being portable across any network connected device with a display, be it tablet, watch, PHONE, car, home system, etc.
Nobody is going to wear their X-Men Cyclops visor every time they want to check e-mails, text or check their feed. They're going to look at their pocket display, ie. smartphone. Was anyone still wearing Google Glass after the early adopter, trend jumper phase wore off? Sure, we'll see Apple super fans wearing their Gen 1 AR sets in public places, who will likely stop before the Gen 2 is even released and stick to wearing them at home.
When AR fits into tiny ear buds the size of AirPods that project or sync visual data via a wearable lens, THEN the iPhone is obsolete and pointless. Years down the line.
Meanwhile, Apple MUST sell iPhones due to the amount of revenue it represents to their overall business operations, regardless of how objectively uninspiring and boring they've become.

IMO Apple should stop new iPhone releases every year and set them to be released every 2-3 years instead focusing on new upgrades and improving performance. In the meantime, they can release the Apple glasses which I think would definitely be a game changer if they are able to do it right. Im not talking about a AR or VR headset as those are pretty clunky looking indeed.
tech sales will be abysmal for 2023 because of inflation. Why release something revolutionary this year if it won't sell well.

Good video but I disagree with you when it comes to the iPhones demise. The VR/AR headset that Apple is coming out with is intriguing but not a replacement for the iPhone. I take public transport to work every day and I don't see hundreds of people sitting on a train with headsets strapped to their faces in place of the iPhones that hold their attention now. Plus, there is too much innovation left to make in iPhone design. They still need to make it fold and flop like the competition.

I’m not sure because apple is starting to lose money over iPhones. (This is my personal opinion don’t take it as a fact) because there’s not many changes between each phone they are releasing. And so people are not upgrading each time because they are seeing how alike the new phone and there phone are. So I do believe it if apple did really wanna shift there focus. Because I do believe everyone’s getting tired of paying $1,200 for a phone that works in the same way as there current phone now. Plus an apple car would be huge. And a big investment to some people, (again, I think) :)
That being said I DO still think they would make new iPhones. I don’t believe they would stop it as a whole. But I think they would start releasing them less. Like maybe 1 time every 3-4 years or so.

Jumping into an existing (EV) market with very little to add seems uncharacteristically cynical from Apple. The e-bike market is newer technology that's begging for innovation and verrry much within the apple-ethos (their wheelhouse, maybe? :P)
It's eco-friendly transportation, simple, elegant and they could easily redefine the industry just bringing in their existing tech. It seems so Apple I almost can't believe it hasn't happened yet.
E-bike riders have been waiting for a USB-C e-bike but bike manufacturers don't make their own batteries. Apple could innovate on bike locking system that integrates with airtags. E-bikes usually have cheap displays that could be replaced by your Phone and If they created a full system like CarPlay that starts up when you get on your bike it would be a complete game changer.
They could actually be leaders.
Smartphones are too expensive and is causing me to go broke I don't understand why these companies think they're getting all this money for it and yet they want and hope for customers to buy it the inflation is getting worse I highly suggest not buy expensive flagship phones. The whole economy is about to freeze again and the price on gas is already dropping hold off guys until we are clear from all this expensive trash it looks cool and all but that's all it is is looks to get you to buy the companies product.
