I'm going to go to Thailand in the following days and knowing that kind of information just saved my life. Thank so much for you kindness and patience. God bless you.
I have been to Thailand 🇹🇭 four times. This last time I got it figured out. The exchange rate changes all the time. But a good rule of thumb is for one American dollar you get 30 thai baht.
I am traveling to Thailand for the first time and this video was SO helpful. I loved your opening scene of trying to figure out currency under pressure! I have totally felt that way in other countries I have traveled to! Question - when youbtalked about tipping in a foreign currency it made me think about common tipping rates. In the US it tends to be around 15-30% of the cost depending on the service. Is there a common percentage to aim for? How much to tip a tuk- tuk driver vs a guide?
No need to tip tuktuk or taxi. If you get on taxi meter, you only round up a bit. Guide is necessary to tip especially the one who work for travel agent as they earn very little but don't tip for 20 Baht. Half day tour could be 100 Baht
@@ItsThaithings everything.. how much time do you think it'll take to learn Thai.. speak like native Thai person.. do you know any good language school in Pattaya??
Unfortunately, i don't live in Pattaya. I have no idea. I am about to teach Thai on this Channel too. You can practice with my videos. Listen and practice 😁
@@ItsThaithings yeah yeah I know you are going to.. I'm eagerly waiting.. but still I'm going to be there for a year as soon as the situation is over 😊
Thank you, this is very informative. One question I was have is based upon your last notes were to generally becareful showing the 1000 Baht: What are the most common notes and coins used for every day life? Generally whats the best notes to give cashiers and kinda what to expect back?
most common note for every day life is 20-100 Baht. Best note is whatever it seems most reasonable and closest to the cost. But if you shop in 7 Eleven, they don't care what you'll pay. They're not allow to refuse it. Ha....
I never heard before that anyone can do that. I could be wrong but what I understand is exchange money is where you must carry your own currency to exchange to local money. If you use visa card, you can withdraw ATM machine.
Hello, I want to ask. I'm going to Bangkok this week and I still have money (baht) that was released in 2005. Can I still use it in Bangkok? Thank you.
The 1,000 baht note at the public toilet reminds me why why you should get your baht at a currency exchange booth rather than an ATM. The booth gives you exact change (at a better rate) while at an ATM you just put in as many thousands as you feel comfortable with (keeping in mind they take a 200 baht transaction fee whether you take out 1,000 or the full 20,000-30,000 limit) and get it all in 1,000 baht notes. --- spooky
You remind me of my trip to Norway 2 years ago when I really want to use a public toilet but they allow only a credit card. My credit card can't be used for making a pin code there. That's a nightmare....lol
First of all, You must understand about currency before you hire agency. Otherwise, it won't be good. You can't rely everyone when you travel. Be confident and learn it slowly. There's a lot of tour you can go with but don't ask them about money or show your money you have to anyone. Good luck
I gave someone in Thailand a tip of $20 USD because I didn't have Baht. I was told later that person would not be able to exchange just $20 dollars (around 600 Baht)? I heard it can only be exchanged in increments of $100 dollars?
It's NOT true. He will get exchange around 600 Baht. However, please don't give dollars if your note is old because Thailand bank will not accept to exchange damaged or old note. Thanks for asking. It's very useful 👍

Your video is so helpful, btw can I ask how much 1 baht in satang?
100 Satang is 1 Baht But we only have 25 Satang coin as the cheapest Thai money. It means 4 coins of 25 Satang is for 1 Baht.
If we don’t understand currency or language fluently. Is there a tour agency or money exchange place that you would recommend?
