I have the recpro 15k you showed in the video in my Cardinal 3450RL (2010). It pulls around ~1400watts powered by my ~3700watts of solar on the roof. But it still struggles to keep up in when its 90+ here in Indiana. But I normally only run the one during the day. The 13.5K that is in the bedroom, I only run when sleeping. I have a 48volt solar setup which I do love (EG4 6000XP with two EG4 Lifepo4 48v 100AH batteries). I say if you are going to put solar on the roof, you will want to use it for more then then just the AC. Love the videos. You keep it real. Keep em coming.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it! The EG4 line definitely looks solid, and I’m seriously considering their batteries and controllers/chargers for my setup. I love the idea of being able to plug and play right away while slowly building out the solar system over time-it’s definitely more doable that way. But yeah, the recpro's are still on my mind too. I’m just worried that even with two new 15k units, it still might not be enough. My neighbors with a similar-sized RV are running three units, so I’m thinking lol...

I forgot if you added extra UV coating on top of the roof, I just did mine couple months ago and it definitely seems to be making a huge difference. I got it from Home Depot. Henry’s silicone and I added three layers with the 5 gallon bucket on a 33 foot fifth wheel.

You know I used that same stuff on my Bounder motorhome a long time ago right before I sold her. It really made a difference huh? I never even considered that could help. I am due to repaint my roof in the next year. Will have to look into it. Thanks for the tip TG!

Nothing like going from sub zero to hotter than Hattie’s 🤣🤣.
Yes sir, stay away from the sticky fly traps. My cat got wrapped up in one of those and she went crazy. That sticky stuff does wash off.
Lots of people do that mini split and I’m thinking seriously about doing also. Just haven’t done it this year. Maybe next year.
I got 3 ac’s so mine get down to 70, no problem. But I don’t pay the electric bill either.

Definitely looking into the mini split, just need to weigh the pros and cons a bit more before pulling the trigger. A few of my neighbors also have 3 AC's in same size 5th wheel and like you have no issues. I just think thats the issue. Even with new units I may not be happy.

Does the whole rv stay hot 85 plus or just living room? Our master bedroom will stay 66 all day when its been 100-110 here in sodak. Living room does get into mid 80s tho. Also maine, vermont, new hammi all stay very nice in summer have lived in all. Very few days in the 90s

Our bedroom usually runs 2-3 degrees warmer than the living room too. I’d be thrilled to keep it at 66! When it hits over 100 outside, our RV usually maintains around 20 degrees cooler inside, which is tolerable, but it's still not ideal. And funny you mentioned those states-Maine is especially high on my list as well!
