    Nice weather station. I probably wouldn't mount it to a plastic cover as i suspect the vibrations will destroy it. Also, if you mounted it just off the ladder, you could easily put it up and take it down if you travel. But for a semi-permanent or permanent location, I understand why you mounted it where you did.

    The problem with all of the more accurate weather stations *that I have looked at* is that they take between TWO WEEKS and ONE MONTH in one geographic location in order to accurately predict the weather -- which makes most of them completely useless if you actually _travel_ with the RV (which we do). Further, most of them have such slow update times that wind gusts are completely ignored!!

    Is this a permanent solution? Or do I have to take it off after every winter? I guess I’m asking more so if this is a safe permanent solution. This is my first winter in a trailer, and im really not liking the idea of skirting and unskirting every year.

    Isn't there a distance requirement between your intake and exhaust? I am not sure about campers, but for homes you need to keep the intake away from the dangerous gases exhausted by the stove.

    • @OneStrangeJourney
      @OneStrangeJourney 21 день назад

      Good question! The intake and exhaust are about 3 feet apart, but since the air from the intake is only used by the pellet stove to burn the pellets and then goes right back out through the exhaust, it doesn’t actually enter the RV. So I feel it's fine but if you have any concerns running a higher chimney would help. I just did'nt want it to mess with my awning.

    Are you still using the same chimney set up? Any recommendations on a smaller unit? My 5th wheels only 36ft.

    • @OneStrangeJourney
      @OneStrangeJourney 26 дней назад

      Yes I am. But I may add a couple extra feet heading up on the outside. I ran a Timelapse one night and caught a spark of an ember. Nothing serious but I think another foot or 2 would be perfect. In my opinion even at 36' I think this pellet stove or similar size would be perfect. Maybe a smaller pellet stove would be more efficient? Just depends how much heat you need. But I can say in my RV this pellet stove has been great keeping us toasty warm on the coldest (-40) days! Good luck!
