Man my dad has owned so many monteros even when he lives in Dominican Republic, and this is just so cool seeing all these role together , keep up the great vids and work 👍🆙
btw, it has been fun watching you build confidence and your offroad skills. keep it up - let that big motor and your advanced traction control work for you.
I just got my 2005 Monte. Still need to mod. Never off road but dying to start. How do I join the group? I am in Fontana, California do you recommend a good mechanic and a place to mod my car?
Welcome! Here is a link to the Facebook group, facebook.com/groups/544566402561079/?ref=share The best mechanic for monteros are ozzys automotive in bell gardens, miyaki motorsports in el monte, and c&a auto in van nuys on van owen street.
Gen 2.5 the one with the blistered fenders. Clearly the 2nd gens are the most capable as you can see in this video and they’re the only generation that comes with the air locker rear diff.
@@owen_03montero I owned both and beg to differ. The Gen 3 has a monocoque frame with independent 4 wheel suspension and just a center locking diff. Compared to the solid axles on the 2nd Gen body on frame, with a Rear and center locking diff. While Gen 3 is certainly more of a comfortable and capable ride the Gen 2,2.5 is the more capable of the two
@@TCEPSD I have a different opinion I own several of every generation including 2.5 with rear locker and center locker. But that traction control on a gen 3 is very good and hard to beat especially if you add a rear lsd

Love these things man especially the older 2nd and 1st gens. Not as big a fan of the newer ones too round and modern looking for me.
The older ones are sweet
I owned a 2nd gen Montero back in the day. I like the look of the Gen 2.5 with those blister fenders. Great vids. Have fun and be safe.
I love my Montero. I have a 1988 SWB with 500k miles, a 1990 LWB with 325k miles and a 2001 we bought new now with 240k miles. They are awesome.

No Gen IV there🤔
They never made it to the US, we got the 3.8 after 04 but then stopped production after 06
Whats the best year for Montero? Or what Gen? Nice Montero! 👌
I like them all. Depends what you want to do with it
