True and false. The first Gravemind was the last surviving Precursor, that’s where a lot of the knowledge comes from. The flood kind of are the Precursors, therefore that original intelligence is theirs.
One could also make the argument that any intelligence anyone acquires doesn’t “belong” to them. Most information is taught by others, not obtained from oneself.

God yeah, I am not gonna lie the first time I ever played halo remasters when I first came out. Yeah, this is exactly how I literally reacted to this whole entire terminal of Captain Keyes. his death was so excruciating like beyond anything I’ve ever seen. the books go into that graphic detail and in this terminal I’m like why in the world is 343 going t for teen? This is why the halo universe needs to stay M for mature. This went into the disturbing detail about what the flood due to their victims, especially those that are still conscious and alive. I can’t imagine any sort of forerunner in the forerunner Flood war, having to have been captured by the flood, and literally gone through this kind of hell. This is even more disturbing than I’ve ever seen and man I’m actually grateful I got to understand what he was going through. in the books, they say the same thing too you can tell he’s literally trying to fight. He is not sure who’s captured believing it’s the covenant he still is convinced it’s the covenant. Yet he’s doing his best to try and prevent giving any information to the flood that want to know their next feeding ground. The most disturbing part of all is we hear the proto Gravemind speak and it’s like man thank God master chief arrived in time. I mean, yeah, he was already long gone before his final moments he had to warn master chief in Cortana to stay away from him. Believing that was all he could do to save human best chance for survival and if anything were to happen to them yeah, that’s a reason to do that. But the most important thing was extracting his neural implants in his head. Yeah, chief did the right thing to put him out of his misery. God the things he went through. I mean, I am fairly certain Miranda would be horrified by that.

There is absolutely no way that 343,or anyone for that matter, can write something even more powerful and more dangerous than the flood. Among all the horrible dialogue lines in Halo infinite, this was straight up the dumbest. The flood is by far the single most powerful, non divine entity i have ever seen in any media period.
It is realistically undefeatable, has for all intends and purposes unlimited computing and planning power, cannot realistically be killed in any meaningful way, knows basically everything you can possibly know... In lore it's as close to omnipotent as something without super powers can be. It is also quite impossible for the flood to have been defeated at the end of halo 3, not even the "local" outbreak. Its intelligence and planning power is far beyond anything even entire species can bring fourth, and the entire ending of halo 3 builds on a simple mistake the flood allegedly makes. (that is, having access to about a million slipspace capable ships, and billions of life forms on high charity, and taking all of them to the ark instead of seeding the entire galaxy with backup forms)
The gravemind alone is so incomprehensibly powerful that i personally think they went a little too far with just HOW powerful he is. The games don't even remotely do him justice.

Tons of things happen that are canon and not mentioned in any novel.

Even mentions a scene where 343 Guilty Spark kidnapped a Sergeant by the name Marvin Mobuto to help clean out the flood around the index. One level im having fun shooting brutes, grunts and fighting the covenant and boom now im fighting these space zombies and I dread it every time cause I realize im getting to the point im fighting the flood and all the amusement I had just drains and I just tolerate it. The flood was annoying, especially on level cortana where they're just a nuisance and obstacles. That’s up for debate. The terminals were found, in canon, during halo 3, odst, 4, Reach, 5 and likely Infinite. I see no reason why it would be any different in CE or 2, even if they were added after the fact. I have a long form video going over this very concept that explains it all.

I wouldn't say keys is a father. Hes more likely a brother

Not really. Keyes was there when John was conscripted. He had a thing with Halsey. If Halsey is like his mom, Keyes would be something like a father figure

@@Woodyisasexybeast so then if I had a thing with your mom then under that technicality I would be your father figure? Lol I swear it was just a fling

I mean, they had a kid together. Miranda. That’s only half of what I said as well. Keyes was there when John was conscripted. That’s important. Also, I said “potential” because it’s a little unclear how John felt. We know he cared a lot about him and respected him greatly. We also know he was deeply affected by his death but that’s it. It is possible that he felt some kind of paternal connection with Keyes

Halo CEA, halo CE did not have terminals
