I guess what makes it not quite as bad is if there’s nothing drawing on the current making it produce hydrogen gas. But if the lights were on or something and you were welding next to it, not a good thing
@Bad Chad when you get up to 17-18 amps area then you have a good chance of exploding the battery. The sides of the battery will start bulging out. You dont want to be around when a battery explodes.
Always exciting to drive your hot rod the first time! I think it needs some 3" lowering blocks in the front. And needs the hood to complete the shape front-to-rear. Looks like a gasser IMHO. "Give Me Back My Wig" is a funny old blues tune by Hound Dog Taylor! His chick is bald and he gave her the money for the wig. She treats him bad and he's like "Give me back my wig, then".
Make sure those rear bumper over-riders are on tight before the test run. You might lose them otherwise... Car looks great but for me I would have preferred the front to be a tad lower (or the rear raised a bit).
AWESOME! think the front could be lowered to match the rear, but that being said, they did raise the front back in the day, so it works either way, except for the height of the windshield you would never know that car was chopped, pretty awesome!, I'd also be very tempted to clear the car to preserve the patina, but that's just me, I like 'em shiny lol!. Another build DONE!

As a cloth gasket between the fender and body to prevent squeaking. You may need to address that .

Loosen the alternator and install a tensioner to take up the slack. This will also keep the proper tension on the belt. JMHO
