I don't understand the language barrier thing really, language has never been a barrier for me to enjoy music or movies, I'm an Arab person and I listen to english, french, spanish, indian, turkish, korean "bts mainly", sometimes italian, albanian songs, what matters to me is that there is a good beat and if not the beat the lyrics. BTS are great performers, they're amazing dancers, singers, rappers and they write most of their lyrics and help in producing many if not all of their tracks. They're so hardworking and sincere who owe everything to their fans and never miss a chance to thank them. they grew so much since their debut and now they're doing things that I don't see many others are doing even the half of it. They're really on another level that I find people ignoring their work really ignorants.
I think most of Americans are used to listen everything in English, cause the have gotten famous artists and artists that doesn’t speak English have done music in English as well...(ex shakira,jlo,Bjork,etc) and while other countries are multilinguals so they are very open to listen music in different languages . My country is monolingual, I speak Spanish and I love listening music in different languages

The staging, lighting, and overall visual effects for this performance are extremely high-quality/standard, and not typical of a routine done on a talk show (versus a live concert or awards show)!

The official music videos actually do have English subtitles and there are always fan made lyric videos for their b-side tracks, so the language issue is pretty easy to overcome since translations are so readily available. In fact, that’s why a lot of fans love BTS’ music; because of their message and lyrics.
“Black Swan” isn’t actually about dancing, but takes that quote and applies it to a musician, talking about the fear of losing their passion for music.
Lol! It sounds Asian because it’s a traditional Korean instrument. Sadly I have no idea how to spell the name of it but I’m sure somebody else can tell you😅 great reaction!💜💜💜
Hi Montana Guys! I love your reaction to Black Swan. You expressed a lot of things that I felt when I watched BTS live on Cordon's show. Isn't this group fantastic?! I was a modern dance performer in my younger years. I had the great privilege of meeting Martha and her company and taking a master class! Graham technique, yeah! And I want to say that to work with a group that was a smidge as good as BTS was wonderful. To have good choreography is stupendous, let alone to have all the dancers together, relating to each other, projecting their emotions to the audience? Rare! And to be singing LIVE at the same time? Phenomenal! Thanks for your wonderful reaction video! And thanks for appreciating the ephemeral art of dance!
I get what you mean by 'asian sound' they're probably using a traditional type of instrument at the beginning. either from Korea or another part of Asia. Something that's not really used elsewhere.
Also when you said 'he's cute' yes. RM is my favorite. He actually has a song on his own with another rapper. And it's all in English. If you ever want to react to it. 'Change - Rap Monster & Wale.'
the fact that you already love Korean food and love the music without understanding what they were singing is just fine .. the more you get to know BTS, the more you will understand why they have a great big fandom behind them .. understanding the language is just a plus so you can actually use the subtitle .. im pretty sure other ARMYs already recommended videos that you can use to know more about BTS if and just in case you both are interested 💜💜💜💜

Uh oh, you guys opened up the BTS flood gates now! I've seen that there are already dozens of suggestions for what to watch next to learn more about the guys but for music check out their official videos like Fake Love (turn on captions and enjoy) and Blood Sweat and Tears. Then you gotta go for their solos from past albums like Serendipity, Singularity and Epiphany (personal faves). Then there are songs from only the vocalists like The Truth Untold or House of Cards and then the rap line, like Ddaeng. There is so much more of course but if you wanna get sucked in and see what the fuss is really all about I suggest starting here 🤘🏼

the quote mentions a dancer dying twice but when we connect it to the song, for bts it's not really about the dancing. it's about their passion for music and their fear of losing it. somewhere in the song there's a lyric "no song affects me anymore, i'm crying out a silent cry". i think that's the key to black swan.

I'm a fairly new ARMY... I watched a majority of their songs on color- coded videos (lyrics) only sometimes before sometimes after to get a better understanding of their songs. A ton of "get to know the members, from nobodies to legends, and such" to really grasp who these young men were.
I now adore their music and the members themselves!

They are the first to dance barefoot on american tv and it’s the first time performing “Black Swan” with the choreography. I don’t know anyone else but it gives me fake love & blood sweat tears vibes and the fact that Suga & RM in the front doing body rolls. This is their third time being on his show, their debut appearance/performance was “DNA” on top of playing Flinch game and the second time appearance/performance “Fake Lovel. Our guys came out like the seven swan bosses they are taking everyone’s wigs but also made everybody worry about JHope during the performance b/c he was accidentally kicked on the top of the ear & head by Yoongi & Taehyung but he didn’t break focus from dancing and they felt really apologetic towards him afterwards. Luckily, he is okay 👌 Tae did a vlive chat with JHope & RM right after they gotten back to the hotel. The Hide & Seek game they played was hilariously adorable which I felt so bad for jimin, jin and JK for being man handled by Ashton Kutcher but James walked all the way back to set holding Suga & Taehyung hand. *Regarding the Grammys, BTS became the first ever SOUTH KOREAN KPOP GROUP to perform on the grammys stage because the collaboration they did with Lil Nas X, Billy Ray Cyrus and Mason Ramsey performing “Old Town Road”.
THERE HAVE BEEN SOME AMERICAN STAGES THAT DONE SETUPS LIKE THIS AND OTHERS HAVENT BUT FOR THIS PARTICULAR STAGE IT IS THE FIRST TIME ON A AMERICAN TALK SHOW.

I enjoy the dancing a lot more than the singing or MV's. I prefer to watch dance rehearsal cuz it shows the full formation and transition to each member.

These boys werent in the video though, since they gave the stage to real contemporary dancers from Europe dancing to this song. You guys should see their stages at Korean award shows! Incredible stuff. Check out the MMA 2019 and the MAMA 2019 they get sets very elaborate and about 20/30 minutes just for them!
Ok so if you watch the Art film made for this song it has closed captions so you can read the english. Apart from a couple of early MVs all BTS MVs have closed captions its the little button with cc on it.

What part of Montana? I'm from Butte myself but haven't been back since I moved in 2013. It'd be interesting to see how well the boys are received there since well, it's Butte and unless it's attached to a bar or casino not much happens. I didn't expect to be drawn to their music at first but once I took a deeper look to understand the message behind their music and the good they want to bring with it I couldn't help adore these young men. They ooze talent, charisma, good looks, etc but they're so goofy and humble at the same time while never forgetting that it was their fans who brought them to this point. They really are true artists in every sense of the word and my only regret is that I didn't know them from the start.

All of their MVs have English captions and for other songs you can look up color coded lyrics for the English translation.

One of the most important elements of KPop is visual, aka dancing, and why their dance level has to be top notch and they have to constantly work hard in practice, along with their vocal training and the rest.
Seventeen, NCT, Pentagon, The Boyz, OnlyOneOf, and so many other boy bands in Korea are really good dancers too!
