Not only did the the Americans MICROWAVE WATER, but they dropped the tea bag AFTER they added milk. My blood is boiling hotter than my kettle.

I admit... I put my cup of tea in 2 minutes on high in the microwave, then I let the teabag steep for at least 5-10 minutes, then I drink it with milk. I don't exactly have the space in the condo needed to keep a teapot. Is my tea bitter? You'd better believe it is; it's wonderful.

American here. I have not nor have I seen anyone use a microwave to heat water, or putting the teabag after putting milk in tea. This is just universally criminal. Some probably do and thats weird.

That's interesting. I drink my tea with milk, and I actually prefer PG Tips to Yorkshire tea. I have them both on my counter right now. I love that bitter aftertaste from PG Tips.

American who finally tried Yorkshire after buying PG Tips for a while. Let's just say, two sips into Yorkshire, I threw my remaining five bags of PG away. I practically did it without thinking. So, I think my taste buds answered that question before my brain did.
And yes, I do make tea properly.

I'm Arabian, but I'm also a tea-lover (tea is so popular here), so this was interesting to me all the same.
Can someone please tell me the protocol with after drinking a full cup leaving a little drip of tea left? Or drink it all up?
I used to drink PG Tips. I moved from one state to another and then PG tips just did not taste as good. I tried Yorkshire Red again and it's great. I think that it was the change in the water. Where I live has "moderately hard" water but I use water through my fridge filter. Yorkshire is my go to tea now.
I've found both of these in my local supermarket here in Florida. PG is, in my humble opinion, far tastier. It is stronger and has a nice earthy flavor. Also, milk really adds to the flavor. I add just a splash, enough to make the tea opaque and slightly reddish brown.

PG Tips is more full-bodied. It's the middle of the sip flavor and the aftertaste that is stronger. Now... Yorkshire tea tends to concentrate the flavor into the foretaste. That foretaste has bite. But the mid and the aftertaste is less interesting than PG Tips, I find, for some reason. I have both brands on my countertop right now. Now... I will also admit to being a Yank, so; derive from that what you will.
@@TheSuperstick55 Fair point, but my explanation is similar to the commenter below. While Yorkshire is stronger in terms of initial flavor when it hits the palate, I find that the aftertaste of PG is more rich and stays on the palate a little longer. Also I found that I was drinking Yorkshire Gold, if that makes a difference.
Since this comment I've also found several other British teas like Ty-phoo, builder's, and even decaf PG Tips. While taste is subjective, I'm just glad that, as a Yank, I have discovered that tea is more than just horrible iced Lipton's with heaping spoons of sugar.
Because I'm American ive only had bottled or sweet tea (always cold), but ive always wanted to try Yorkshire tea with some milk in it
I'm living in the US and wanted to try Yorkshire tea so I ordered a box on Amazon, it was 100 bags for only $4. It's a really great tea, it was worth buying. I drink it with two sugars and some half-and-half.
I drink Lipton Yellow label loose leaf every day at work, but have recently found Yorkshire tea and its pretty damn good as well. I like strong tea. I find it amusing nobody seems to like Yellow label in the UK.

Lovely video. Most Brits take their tea with at least a splash of milk. I would recommend Yorkshire Gold with two-three teaspoons worth of semi-skimmed milk. The brew of the gods.
Why would you use semi-skimmed milk? The creamier your milk is the better it will taste. I will never understand why anyone buys anything but full cream milk. I actually moved to the US from Australia and they sell something called "half-and-half" here in the US, it's basically a mixture of half milk and half cream, it's used for adding to coffee. I add it to my tea and it makes it taste so much better than using normal milk, the creamier the better.

I personally prefer PG Tips and didn't notice any weird smell or taste at all, but Yorkshire Tea is a close 2nd. PG Tips is hard yo find where I live for some reason, so I just have Yorkshire Tea at the moment. I'll try to find PG Tips once I run out though.
The only Americans who can brew a proper cup of black tea are the Irish immigrants and their kids. I'm talking about those who emigrated from Ireland in the 40s to mid 60s. As a child of such immigrants to the US, I've been drinking tea since I was s toddler. Only loose tea, brewed in a pot was allowed in our house, no orange pekoe. The brands used were imported from Ireland, Barry's and Lyons Tea. They are both stronger African teas than English Assam teas. As a grown up I've had PG Tips and Yorkshire and they are solid, milder teas.
Of cheap bagged teas PG tips is smoother, Tetley if made well has a creamy strong taste and Yorkshire is a slightly higher grade of cheap teas. It makes loose ones. The gold blend was all right but I have not tried the original one. Even for run of the mill tea I would not make it in the microwave or think of using the Mike as we can name it for cooking or preparing drinks. Even if it’s convenient and does not taste different it’s a lowly way to make tea and I’m not that snobby about it and even say that but have done it on a Keurig at work when I only had a minute to make one not officially on my breaks
Why does everyone sleep on tetley? I’ve tried all of these and haven’t found a single one as good as tetley British blend.
Tea is 80% of what I drink in a day, now. 4 or 5 cups a day. Yorkshire is great and is my favorite. PG is also good. I also buy Twinings English Breakfast as well from time to time. I never had Typhoo. I must be in the minority that doesn't drink the same tea all the time but to me change is good. If I had only one to chose I would get Yorkshire Tea as well.

Very important note: not all teas are the exact same, there are 4 main types of tea: black, green, oolong, Pu’erh
Most people drink black tea and just because a product is called black tea does not mean they are the same as all black teas.
Most of the teas in supermarkets sold to western countries are black teas grown in India and Africa which are blended together so they all taste similar. But if you look into the different qualities of black tea, you’ll find higher quality teas taste better,
Personally I like the teas grown in China a lot better because the flavours range from dark chocolate and toffee to woodsy and fruit.

IMHO PG Tips is far better than Yorkshire...and Typhoo is better than them both!
As a clueless yank, my supermarket here in Florida carries Yorkshire, PG, and Typhoo. That makes me excited, Typhoo is the only one I haven't tried yet!
I love Typhoo too. Today I am getting 440 bags, so I am good for a while... :) But I also ordered some Tetley, PG and Yorkshire to do some comparing. I had them all already (used to live in England). But not I will do some comparing...

Come on. Its English tea- most of them do use milk and sugar in it. At least the milk part. Its not wrong to drink it black, but I enjoy it with a splash of milk. There's different varieties of black tea. Assam (Indian) tea and Earl Grey tea go well with milk n sugar...You can even combine the two. The tea base should be strong n bitter before adding milk. Also- if I'm gonna add sugar I aggitate the tea by pressing my spoon against the tea repeatedly. this makes it more bitter so its a no-no if you're drinking it black- but necessary if ur adding sugar. I wont add tea or sugar unless the tea is strong 1st cause otherwise it'll taste like hot sweet water and no one wants that. Thanks for the review. The yorkshire blend has assam in it so i'm sure i'd like it.
I drink Yorkshire Gold from Taylors of Harrogate the proper way, and I am from Norway... Lol
The only Americans who actually drink tea seriously are in the deep south and if we have the choice we make a large glass pitcher of sunmade tea probably with Luzianne with about a single cup of sugar for a few gallons. But once you get out of East Texas and/or north into Missouri you are better off just buying a coke and not risk Yankee tea. All the store bought ready made tea is mostly for them.

I love Yorkshire tea, Sainsbury's own brand tea and Lidl's Knightsbridge tea. The best decaf is Yorkshire's. Taste like proper tea, followed by Lidl's Knightsbridge decaf tea. A milder type.
The worst tea for me are Typhoo and Tetley. They taste of nothing and are so so weak for me. I need 2 bags to make a normal cuppa with these 2. May as well drink water. And not a fan of PG Tips neither. But better than Typhoo and Tetley. This is according to my taste.

I'm generally happy with any of the big brands. I generally think that PG tips are the default favourite amongst most Brits. Nobody had heard of Yorkshire Tea in most of the UK until twenty or thirty years ago. At home, I drink Lidl's Knightsbridge Gold blend tea. That stuff is fantastic value for money.
Not sure about people only knowing about it in the last 20 years or so. that but then I am from Yorkshire. Yorkshire Tea is a black tea blend produced by the Bettys & Taylors Group since 1977. It is the most popular traditional black tea brand sold in the UK. It is a stronger flavour than other teas, I also enjoy green tea with lemon and white tea.

I've been drinking tea since my mid-20s (I'm 34 now) and that Americans making tea video hurt me in my soul.
I recently bought Yorkshire Tea after drinking PGs and Tesco finest and for me the YT is the weakest out of the bunch.

Nice video, well done. But to say that loose leaf tea is the same as teabag tea is incorrect. Tea in bags is mostly "tea dust" and is the waste left over from processing loose leaf tea.

Just to be fair, she’s crazy. We don’t do that. I only heat up my tea or coffee in the microwave if it got cold. But hot water, teabag, steep, remove, sugar, then milk, or half&half.
Whoa there not all of us in America are as stupid as what's seen on TikTok. Please give us some credit. Also we southerners find the yank part kind of offensive. Yankees are what we call northerners lol. But I'm sure a lot of Americans don't know how to make a proper brew. Also, pg tips is the gold standard of tea.
