It’s literally all my sister talked about when she first watched Series Three, all my friends actively celebrate whenever she returns, hell the only person I’ve seen not want Martha to come back have all ended up being racists; aka, not real Doctor Who fans.
Twofold opinion: 1. If the goal is to attract new viewers, bringing up an old character that has not been seen on screen for about 15 years is a bad idea. 2. Martha was awesome and definitely deserves her own spin-off.
When I was a kid, Martha was my favorite of the RTD companions. Also, the notion that season 3 was bad is insane. Almost all the best episodes of the tennant run are in that season. Blink, human nature/family of blood, utopia, smith and jones
The fact that Disney+ doesn’t seem to be involved worries me solely as a non-UK person because that means like with Tales of the TARDIS, I and countless others outside of the UK probably won’t be able to watch it.
It was about time Martha Jones had a spin-off series, though we expect it more from the Classics given the departure and creation of the Sarah Jane Adventures, nevertheless, from the modern series, given how Martha has not been affected such as her memory kept, she is still in contemporary Earth etc, it is therefore logical to make a spin-off series that stars Martha Jones. It has been 13 years since we have waited for such a spin-off series.
anyways, the tall women thing, my girlfriend is one of the tallest women alive and she constantly gets fucking transvestigated, and there are strangers who will post her fucking photos online and start targeting and harassing her over her appearance
I do hope the show doesn’t remove her human feeling element from her character, a lot of characters lately don’t feel like real people you could talk with, they feel like fictional characters written to fill a role, that might sound like a silly argument but in the old RTD era every character felt so real and nuanced, I hope when Martha comes back she keeps that, give her a family, where’s Mickey? If he’s not recast what happened to him? Are they still married?
I would actually like to see this spin-off become reality if this rumour is true. If it’s some kind of series ranging between the Sea Devil’s in the past and UNIT in the present where Martha (if she does return) takes the lead alongside Kate. Plus, any Sea Devil stuff could be set up for a possible season finale or two-parter for Doctor Who. Only time will tell. It always does.

Martha has been a fan favorite of modern Who since she was introduced. People were begging for a Martha spin-off when she first left the show. I swear this dude has to be AI generated. This cannot be a real human being
That guy is an idiot he was ranting on Twitter/X whatever you want to call it about X-men being woke and a bunch of BS like the men be emasculated by the women and the whites being replaced.
Right around when the Far-Right side of the Internet started to co-opt it, and then it just got so overused that it lost whatever meaning it had, like many terms before it, from “communist”, to “Nazi”, to an old favourite of mine “virtue-signaller”, a cry which is so self-defeating that it’s hilarious.
Personally, I do hope that they handwave away the whole "married to Mickey" thing just by insinuating she was his work wife or something. Its not like they do anything particularly "coupley" in that short scene in The End of Time Assuming these rumours are even true in the first place ofc!
Martha Jones is the best companion in doctor who, she certainly is my favourite and I have been begging for a Martha return because she holds so much potential and has so much to do with Unit and Torchwood. Martha Jones is a freelance agent fighting against monsters and traveling the universe (possibly) how does she not have a reason to have a spin off show??.
I really miss SJA so I really hope we get another new big spin-off. Wasn't so keen on Torchwood tbh, but it was a good idea. Something more adult and riské
I personally liked Torchwood but there were times where it seems like they were trying a bit too hard to be 'adult' and 'edgy'. It was mainly just in series 1
The initial Disney deal was for 2 9-episode series of Dr Who (8 eps plus Christmas x 2), the 3 60th Anniversary specials and a 5-part spin-off. 26 episodes.
They will lie to validate opinions because it makes them money and business has been booming nerdrotic, geeks and gamers they're all cashing in on angry people while there has been problems and shit content being churned out there is more to it than simply politics a lot of the time
Here’s my prediction: this will actually be the first season of a unit series, with “the war between the land and the sea” being a subtitle. It’ll be all one story like children of earth.
I'd love a Martha Jones spinoff. It would be nice to see her outside her time with the Doctor. And yes I know she was on torchwood but that wasn't a whole lot with her and I haven't got to her big finish run yet.
I’m now gonna buy every single episode of the spinoff if it ever actually does come to be and comes out on DVD,if it’s controversial,I’ll love it I know
I love how when he takes time to promote his book the only thing he seems to say about it is that "It's good Sci-Fi" and other stuff of that nature. Great sales pitch there. Not even a premise or anything.
such a dumb take about Freema... IMO as a caucasian cismale hetero : in pure beauty standings Modern Who 1) Freema , 2) Millie Gibson, 3) Jenna Coleman, 4) Pearl Mackie... maybe then Karen and Billie... but Freema rules! Classic : 1) Leela,/ Peri , 2) Jo Grant, Zoe, 3) Romana 2 / Sarah Jane, 4) Romana 1/ Liz Shaw (but for wit this is the ultimate one !Romana 2 was a downgrade in character imo)
Anyone back here after discovering that The War Between the Land and the Sea has officially been confirmed at SDCC. No news of Freema Agyeman in the cast but we do have Jemma Redgrave back as Kate Stewart as some good casting choices like Russell Tovey, Alexander Devrient and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. The latter of whom played Tish Jones, Martha’s sister from series 3 so if Martha isn’t in this spin-off, we do at least of a Jones to join the team.
@@MrTARDIS Are they now? Interesting to see who they’ll be. Also, if you’ve seen what happens at the end of the teaser for Joy to the World, I can see possible tie-ins with this spin off and season 2 or 3 of Doctor Who. As you said, if War Between the Land and the Sea is real, then a third Doctor Who season is assured so I’m interested if both will be connected for a story arc for a DW season or at least set up for the finale of that season.
Out of all the past NuWho companions, Martha Jones is easily the most deserving of a spinoff imo This is easily the most out of touch I’ve seen from them which is saying something. Also this guy has apparently written for one of the sites that these RUclipsrs use for their bs videos
Honestly, I don't see it from THAT perspective, but personally I don't like Martha Jones, I don't like the character because basically her whole story in the series was to fall in love with the Doctor, but if this rumored Spin-off came to exist and they create a real plot for Martha I wouldn't have a problem to start appreciating the character, the same thing happened to me with Mel after all, since we knew her almost nothing in Classic Who, she was shouting all the time and left as soon as she arrived, but The Giggle and this final season made me see her as another character.
Yeah British culture is being appropriated because a british writer who heads up a British production company has cast a British actress to play a character which she had already made a fan favourite years ago. People like this grifter have definitely never properly watched the show before, if season three was made today people like this would be calling it woke garbage.

I’ve literally only ever seen people ask for Martha to come back. It’s literally all my sister talked about when she first watched Series Three, all my friends actively celebrate whenever she returns, hell the only person I’ve seen not want Martha to come back have all ended up being racists; aka, not real Doctor Who fans.
Martha was so badly served in season 3that getting her own show does make a world of sense.
On the point of him saying they brought back the master how much you wanna bet he thinks maestro was the master
“British culture has been appropriated” my guy you’re an American what do you care
Martha is with Unit. There is meant to be a show focused on the organisation. Maybe this is it.
Thats horrible. I really like Freema
The fact that Disney+ doesn’t seem to be involved worries me solely as a non-UK person because that means like with Tales of the TARDIS, I and countless others outside of the UK probably won’t be able to watch it.
Thats assuming it is TV and Not Big Finish. If its big finish then you can get it no matter where you are.
@@neptune04 that’s true.
The spin-off IS part of the Disney 26 episode deal.
It’s talking about a TV spinoff and it was very likely commissioned for Disney+ :)
Martha is one of the best companions, and I will definitely be watching. I love Martha!!
Been watching a video on Palestine so come here for some fun and light relief....LET'S GO!
getting “i miss dogwhistles” tattooed
anyways, the tall women thing, my girlfriend is one of the tallest women alive and she constantly gets fucking transvestigated, and there are strangers who will post her fucking photos online and start targeting and harassing her over her appearance
Honestly, Martha cured my racism
We need the Giant racist Eating Slug from Dot and Bubble.
It always does.
ffs this racist guy.. "this spinoff that no one asked for" everyone thats a fan of Martha has asked and begged for this. God a group of previous Doctor Who UNIT companions have been said to return and now that one of them happens to be black he now complains... XD this guy is on something
"Victim tour" what a prick.
"WE DON'T WANT A MATHA SPIN OFF!!!!! 😡😡😡"
Sorry, who's "we"?
I can't help but to notice this guy going on about cultural appropriation of British culture, and erasure if British culture doesn't sound to be British at all
The first few seconds into the Jon Del Arroz‘s I literal want “OMG that’s Fing racist” he went fully masked off
Freema is in a video talking about the first time she joined as a companion and the racism she faced. It is obvious these antisjw youtubers will use her for content. People will come out to defend her.
It’s so exhausting. Thank you for saying something. Always good to stand up for what’s right.
Never fails to amaze me how stupid people can be. Genuinely what the hell does it matter the colour of anyone's skin. How are we not over this yet?
Martha has been a fan favorite of modern Who since she was introduced. People were begging for a Martha spin-off when she first left the show. I swear this dude has to be AI generated. This cannot be a real human being
I don’t understand you tube why do they allow these people to make these videos
You'd like it if everybody was in your little echo chamber wouldn't you. Cunt.
🤨
This guy attacking Freema sounds like Lord Haw Haw.
That guy is an idiot he was ranting on Twitter/X whatever you want to call it about X-men being woke and a bunch of BS like the men be emasculated by the women and the whites being replaced.
When did woke start meaning “bad”?
Right around when the Far-Right side of the Internet started to co-opt it, and then it just got so overused that it lost whatever meaning it had, like many terms before it, from “communist”, to “Nazi”, to an old favourite of mine “virtue-signaller”, a cry which is so self-defeating that it’s hilarious.
Personally, I do hope that they handwave away the whole "married to Mickey" thing just by insinuating she was his work wife or something. Its not like they do anything particularly "coupley" in that short scene in The End of Time
Assuming these rumours are even true in the first place ofc!
I like the idea of her saying "you shouldn't have married me" to imply he performed the wedding
@@dylanshadowstar9779 ah yeah, that works too!
Oh yeah also Freema was amazing in Sense8. Shame that got cancelled, but tbf it was an expensive show.
"bring her black" is an freudian slip😂
I’m now gonna buy every single episode of the spinoff if it ever actually does come to be and comes out on DVD,if it’s controversial,I’ll love it I know
What do mean Series 1 didn’t have any callbacks? The main Villains of That Season were The Daleks
I love how when he takes time to promote his book the only thing he seems to say about it is that "It's good Sci-Fi" and other stuff of that nature. Great sales pitch there. Not even a premise or anything.
I can already tell that it is going to be amazing! /s
Martha Jones was an awesome companion, her bravery, especially standing on her own with the daleks
such a dumb take about Freema... IMO as a caucasian cismale hetero : in pure beauty standings Modern Who
1) Freema , 2) Millie Gibson, 3) Jenna Coleman, 4) Pearl Mackie... maybe then Karen and Billie... but Freema rules!
@@bladersmosh it's actually been confirmed that Mbatha-Raw and Tovey are playing new, original characters.
Out of all the past NuWho companions, Martha Jones is easily the most deserving of a spinoff imo
This is easily the most out of touch I’ve seen from them which is saying something. Also this guy has apparently written for one of the sites that these RUclipsrs use for their bs videos
Mr. Del Arroz. Dude, on 6th November, your President might be a half-Indian half-Jamiacan woman. That possibility must be so maddening for you.
If that isn't a Freudian slip ...
If Rose towering over everyone makes her less of a woman, then the same should apply to Amy Pond, surely.
Yeah British culture is being appropriated because a british writer who heads up a British production company has cast a British actress to play a character which she had already made a fan favourite years ago.
People like this grifter have definitely never properly watched the show before, if season three was made today people like this would be calling it woke garbage.
Do they know that Martha Jones was before Disney? Cause I think they should look up series 3 Of Doctor Who.
Regarding today standards . In writing … she deserves better .. hope it’s not true ..
One thing I think this guy has missed about Donna Noble is that both of her love interests (ie. the two people she wore a wedding dress for) were both black.
I've loved Martha and FReema from the moment I saw her. And I do not care what color any companion is. There is not one companion that I didn't like
Dude needs to watch Series 2 again. He’s looking back on it with rose tinted glasses (no pun intended) when it’s actually the worst series of the revival 😂
Yeah I agree, it was all over the place, there were some good stories but quite a few forgettable one's, I think Ecclestone's series was stronger. Season 3 was actually my Favourite overall season RTD was head writer for, then season 4, then season 1, then season 2 in dead last place for me.
Wow! Martha was one of the best, if not the best, companion. Is this guy related to Charlie Kirk?
Martha is my favourite Dr companion
I was hoping they'd bring back Angela Bruce as Winifred Bambera in a Unit spinoff, but if it'd make her a target from these types now I'd understand if she didn't want to. 😢
41:20 wait Freema in that production Romeo and Juliet! Make me wish I hadn’t been at work for the 2 nanoseconds the tickets are on sale. 😤
Definitely don't tell these grifters about the play selling out. They hate it when woke doesn't go broke. 😂
Has Jon Dell Arroz seen Torchwood? 🤣🤣🤣
