Imagine being sooooo advance as a species you devolve yourself out of boredom multiple times over. That's almost godhood there.

the only, utmost repeating kind of power level maxed over there within that single, Small halo universe's and galaxy's/franchise's known territorially-bounded cosmology-Only, hrm....
They played unto abstract alchemy concepts like regression and unification which does a curious parallel towards the human devolution and forerunner fall
That's TRUE boredom.
Literally what we do when playing games with high replayability, it's like giving yourself a challenge and finding new ways to entertain yourself, because life means nothing without pleasure.
When you've done so much in a game that you switch around your playstyle and looks completely every once in a while just for fun.

I think this is the best summary on the Precursors I've seen, especially with the observations from a real-world mythology point of view. REALLY good! I liked this a lot.
This is something I always liked when people bring up a group of pagan gods in fantasy or scifi stories. The idea that they aren't the highest power but just the highest level of power that the mortals can notice and understand without just breaking from trying to understand it.

Halo lore on MetaNerdz?! Yes! My favorite video game series being covered here is so great to see! Thank you for this!

@@MetaNerdzLore hi dude how are you
It's not Halo lore it's whatever abomination and greatly misinformed and sheltered understanding of what Halo is. Dude probably got into the series because he was a part of the trend where being a nerd and a cuck became mainstream which is why he's trying to think that Halo is based off of New age ideas Man it's a real riot.
hi jdj
For me the wildest part is that Precursor seems to be far above in Forerunners in everything whether it be knowledge, technologies or even something basic like biology. To the point the forerunners are actually baffled how they ever have the upper hand in the first place. At least in my opinion judging by how unperturbed Precursors are toward their supposed death it feels like they are actually giving Forerunners chance to prove them wrong, that maybe the mantle does belong to Forerunners, but after several attempts they have seen enough and decided to punish Forerunners for the final time.
Nice! Don't think I've seen such an in depth breakdown for the precursors. Great work!
Really? Then no offence to both of you - you haven't been looking well my good man.

26:44 The way I interpreted the figure of the Domain having 100 Billion years of knowledge is that it has records dating to at least 100 Billion years ago. This would be believable considering all of the other canon feats and implied powers of the Precursors, them having a data repository from before the Universe began could simply mean that they originated from a different or previous universe, and hopped into/discovered this one much later.
Yeah that could work
Or maybe it implies a cyclical universe.
If 3 people read a book for an hour, you have 3 hours of knowledge.
@@carlosandleonexactly thats why 100 billion years of accumilated knowledge doesn't make sense. There were many precursors. ALL of their accimulated knowledge would be more way more than mere 100 billion
Yup the fucking marathon universe. Calling it because it makes too much sense.
Halo lore is pretty neat, especially with a project im working on. I wouldn't mind hearing some Mass Effect lore from you if it peaks your interests enough. I know that lore goes pretty deep like Halo lore
Yeah I have a ton of Mass Effect scripts written too so I'm hoping to keep consistent uploads on all these franchises
Great video! What’s wild is in Outcasts, it’s implied that the Precursors truly exist outside of space and time itself. This seems to indicate that the Precursors are the creators of existence.
Even with all this power, the most freaky thing about the Precursors is the fact that something or someone created them.
I dont think that
'Even with all this power,-'.

'Even with all this power, the mos-'.

that halo '06' era introduction of that 'is even worse than the flood!~' Whatever, new, Out-of-context made race for example is more than enough for those like me. so, no.) is ever going to happen it seems coming from those 343I developers there.
and I think many would agree too (especially by those fans who were the ones who got damaged the most during at the start of halo 06's release finally. Lore-wise/storytelling-speaking), that after reading your considerable suggested reminder in here for example (none to the offense).
Lore-wise Realistically though?: ....

16:30 compare that to the Harbinger, and the resemblance is astounding, suggesting the Harbinger may be the form of the avatars of the Precursors before several were molded together into the Primordial, since the Didact commented that the Primordial wasn't one creature, but multiple molded together.
The Endless being Precursor avatars would also explain their survival from the Halos. They were in Neural Physical temporal stasis when the array was fired, resulting in them being dumped back into the flow of time after the energies of Halo passed, dissolving their neural-physical stasis chambers.
Hell yeah, MetaNerdz doing more Halo! Even as someone who has read everything, this is great. Very excited at the prospect of your video format/aproceh being done with more halo.

- the marathon multiverse's: wrkncacnter(/etc other such Causal, etc forces/beings(?) like them).
- those few more other bungieverses-connected settings', but probably not as vast as those 3 main ones of bungo's (Lore-wise).
- the halo universe's (and galaxy's): precursors.
*(**24:24**).*
Not bad of a summary. There are a few errors though. It was the Ur-didact not the Iso-didact that destroyed the Primordial. Also, the Librarian discovered that the Forerunners killed off the Precursors during her visit with the ancient Forerunners she met at path kathona.
The precursors ARE the flood, always have been and they created life to engulf it and therefore experience life.. you could say they are the universes way to experience life, good and bad.. aka sweetness

When i saw "precursor" i thought it was a Subnautica video

@justan324 yeah, i just like subnautica a ton, so its what i thought of first :)

And they were created by the Predecessors, before them the Antecedents, before them the Ancient Ones, before them the Antediluvians, before them the Progenitors, before them the First Ones...
I feel like the Precursors seemingly being behind everything is too simple, and too supernatural. The precursors bringing all these supernatural elements into the setting really mess with the more pedestrian sci-fi vibe that Halo started with.
Precursors may be “Super natural” however many ideas and theories do hold up in our Limited scientific, for example: in 1504 while Christopher Columbus was stranded in Jamaica, he used his foreknowledge of a lunar eclipse to fool the natives, at the time Columbus proved that the natives god is lesser than theirs, and that One of many times were, a “lesser” civilizations was dominated, and displays a more advance civilizations, superior knowledge of their understanding of the world around them.
Complex enough science to those who are not informed may seem like magic
You don't just get into space without asking yourself much bigger questions.
And when those questions have answers, you obviously look small in comparison. It all scales up.
What makes it meaningful for me is that these small struggles still contribute to the broader whole.
That Gods would watch us must mean that our actions and choices do have an impact on the world around us, so the core themes of "hope" against all odds, "Duty and Service", "Self-Sacrifice", "Survival at all costs", and "What it means to be human" are all themes with a deep meaning that our gameplay contributes to.
I like it.

Gnural Phisics not Neural Physics
Like in PkMn it's Protien not Protein
frank o conner really ruined the forerunners that bad huh
I can't wait till he covers the material from the book point of light that one is something else lol
I like how in the early edition of the Halo Encyclopedia, it is stated that the Covenant doesn't have superior technology to Humanity by anything really of their doing, but by their imitative usage and reverse-engineering of Forerunner technology. It seems to me that Forerunners mostly just appropriated and imitated Precursor technology- when they could even begin to wrap their minds around it, that is.
Only in a very few cases. Forerunner tech is largely described as their own, if my memory serves. They had little, if any, real understanding of the precursor works like the star roads, they didn't realize the domain was a precursor construct until the very end (a point the grave mind noted as being part of their revenge) and the halos harnessed neural physics almost by accident
I would like to see more Halo lore. Maybe cover the prototype suit.
Except not everyone got into the domain.
I wonder if the Xalilin were related to precursors in some form.
Maybe the endless are the first creations of the precursors and have their technology like star roads and other precursors stuff like weapons ships and armors and vehicles and have precursors like neutral physics sure their have the abilities to manipulate and control countless energies and matters including living time but I sure they also can manipulate and control neutral physics
huh....

In the Kardashev scale, Precursors would be a type 4, capable of using the energy of an entire universe and to manipulate the fundamental structure of space time
if the precursors were so OP, how did the Forerunners eradicated them? were they stupid?
The Forerunners caught the Precursors off guard.
And Precursors fascinated by this violemce didn't fight back. Some turned into flood some rejected that. I hope we WILL get a full precursor one day in the books.
I think a majority precursors wanted to feel the "sweetness" of being genocided by the Forerunners, proving their point that the Forerunners weren't fit to hold the Mantle of Responsibility. Some precursors simply escaped to other galaxies to create more life; and as stated by this video, other precursors tranformed themselves into the molecular dust to become the Flood - to act as retribution for the Forerunner's hubris and betrayal.
Really poor naming, though:
Forerunners, Precursors, Endless...
The races had names for themselves. Use them once more is uncovered about them in the lore.

Some of the best world building in gaming, up there with elderscrolls, mass effect, Pokemon, and fallout. They really understood scifi and had a deep passion for the world they were crafting. They put so much effort into making a compelling story to what was, by the 3rd installment quickly becoming a multiplayer shooter in the zeitgeist that most kids never even touched the campaign. Then...suddenly...they just stopped caring.
A lot of modern game dev teams in the west we see hating on games like elden ring and BG3 for what they tout as "an obscene amount of unnecessary detail that players will never experience". Its often even more deep than they know such as every single NPC in elden ring given a face, eyes, and facial details that not only match their descriptions in the lore but their eyes often give away a profound truth about them you wouldnt find out until the near end of your playthrough, the only issue? Almost all of them have armor that covers these faces, no one will ever see them unless they opened the textures up with a special program and remove their clothes. They could have easily just used a blank standard head for all of them or none at all! No one would have known...accept thats not true is it? They would have known. They care about the consistency of the world they made. Things like not realizing all the ruins throughout the game are actually of one of the last levels and all the random designs and mosiacs not only have profound meanings and lore implications but literally match up such that the devs actually created the city(farumszula) then broke it up and places the ruins that way. Insane level of world consistency and attention to detail.
You may not notice that detail, or the faces or the fact everyones eyes tell you who they serve and why or any one thing but these hyper passion filled decisions act as flags to us players. A dev team willing to go to such lengths and have such pride in their world is not going to give you a crap game. The people that made fallout 1 and 2 and even wrote a lore bible made such a good and believable world because they built a world they played in. Thus it was a world they personally cared about and it shows. Western game companys have begun hiring non gamers to make their games or worse gamers who dont make the game they are working on to be fun to them personally. They have no passion or connection to this escapism and thus they fall into vapid traps like uing the franchise as a method to platform their cringe personal political beliefs. A game developer who would take a once non modern political game franchise and immediately begin stuffing it with trump or obama hate refrences and dialogue is a game dev who isnt making a game, they are exploiting the franchise and converting someone elses passion into pure vanity. I believe this is why these companys like bioware, bethesda, and 343 now suck at world building. They no longer even view their job as a world builder, but rather at best, a gambling and behavioral addiction salesman whos job it is to link all these addiction systems together into a coherent story that a child will be able to easly wander into their digital exploitation traps.
At worst these devs view them selves as propagandists, as specialized digital activists that have a duty to deconstruct your world to prop up their ego.
So sad, this is why we need to protect Japan from this memetic marxist-decnstructionist mind plague. They are our only hope for eacapist media now.
Oooh you haven’t done a Halo video in a long time.
Whoa 😮 I appreciate this coherent way to learn the lore 😊 thank you ❤

Anyone else think if the flood evolves enough they will go back to being a precursor?
In regards of their biological composition I’ll only say this….If this isn’t a person’s quantifying of God’s nature and plugging it into a sci-fi environment then I don’t know what is! Rather well thought out. 😎
How about the Six Infinity Stones coverage?
We don't know if they actually intended to wipe out the Forerunners. It is left deliberately vague by the writers, and I think that is wise. Given the level of shame implied to exist on a cultural level in the Magellanic Cloud Forerunners, I think that was never the plan but was later used as a justification, a coverup. I mean they (the expeditionary force that chased the last of the Precursors down) deliberately burned their ships, and possibly themselves, leaving only a tiny group of survivors who had been marooned on a planet earlier for refusing to engage in xenocide. Sad fact is that the Forerunners were unfit to rule, and we see in the books that they were an extremely arrogant and violent species. So to be fair it might have been a wise choice for the Precursors to eliminate them.... but it just doesn't fit with even the limited lore we have on their society and philosophy
A surprise to be sure.
But a welcome one! 😊
So humanity found the flood and it then started to consume them immediately afterward?
Humanity found dust in jars, which seemed inert, and when they experimented on/with it, they found that when fed to their pets, it made them more docile and friendly. So finding no negative effects, they started using it on their pets across their empire. It wasn't until much later when their pets suddenly started sprouting tentacles, releasing spores that caused humans who came into contact with the spores to do the same. It wasn't long after then that the Flood first emerged, transforming those infected into undead Lovecraftian horrors.
DEAR HUMANITY, WE REGRET MISSING THE DEBUT OF THIS VIDEO

AND WE MOST DEFINITELY REGRET NOT LEAVING THIS COMMENT EARLIER.
OORAH.
Hi
*MetaNerdz posts a not Star Wars video* "a surprise to be sure"
*And its Halo* "but a welcome one"
This sounds like the same argument Tarns people use to explain their nonsense
As fascinating as this lore is, I can't help but feel that it's terribly convoluted compared to what Bungie may have had in mind. In fact, some of the Gravemind's taunts to John make zero sense in the context that humanity was the Precursors creations. Worse, the average Halo player absolutely doesn't care for it and many might look at it in disdain given that it was crafted by 343i, an unworthy inheritor to the Mantle of Halo custody.
Bungie didn't have an answer for what the flood was and changed ideas several times. All the gravemind lines make sense with the Forerunner saga.
Child of my enemy why have you come I offer no forgiveness of a father's sins passed to his son. The Librarian kept humans safe multiple times humanity was going to be exterminated after the war the Librarian stepped in and stopped it having humanity be composed in stead. The Librarian kept a secret sect of humanity that was making advancements at a rate that surprised even her so with the help of other forerunners they kept them safe and later reformulated them on earth. Hence the children line the Librarian herself calls humanity her children and so don't the Didact.
Bungie has a track record of to me if they can't explain something they give multiple answers until something sticks. Flood started as a covenant bioweapon then was implied to be an experiment. But Gravemind implies something different he speaks when we first meet him as a prisoner. The I have listened through rock and metal and time these sound like constraints. And then you have his lines in Halo 3 But basking in New freedom I will know all that I possess or defeat is simply an addition of time to a sentence I never deserved but you imposed.
Bungie with destiny is doing similar stiff again the Traveler introduction no it's dead no it's sleeping no the darkness is keeping it down and as we found Bungie admitted they had no idea what the darkness was and we would be discovering what the light is and we'd know why we were chosen to get out light back. Final dlc is in a few months and we still don't have that answered. Bungie also tells us oh you can't believe that lore because unreliable narrator constantly for big things. Which can be used here too 343GS and the Fragment of Mendicant Bias are the only characters that mention humanity being forerunners. 343 GS is experiencing rampancy which is a form of dementia and Mendicant on High Charity is just 1 piece of his whole being. So these two are unreliable narrator's.
More halo again😊
