Hi Kenneth, I work with electronic engineering. The advise for chargers should be a little different. The load (in this case the earbuds) tells the voltage needed and how much current it will draw from the charger. This means the voltage must always meet what is asked ( usually 5V) and the charger must provide at least the current needed. If the charger is capable of a higher power, the buds will still draw only what it needs, it is not an issue. The risk with quick chargers is that they usually use several voltage levels ( 12V ,9V) besides the 5V. The charger expects a communication with the load to let it know which voltage to use. This is where it could be a problem, although most chargers should default to standard 5V. To summarize, if the charger is 5V only and capable to provide the required current to the buds you should be fine.
Thanks for the insight! I am aware of the communication needed for the device to ask for more power, though I just knew from your comment that it’ll only up the voltage right? My aim was so that most people could understand the difference between fast chargers and not, though I do mess up on how it works there 🤣 anyway, the more I know! ✌🏻
@@namedkenn Old comment, but this guy is correct. I don't know why the manufacturers warn against using high-wattage chargers, because it really can't hurt the TWS if they're designed properly. It's a bit like how your wall sockets can deliver 2000W (like if you plug a toaster or kettle in), but they won't blow up sensitive electronics like your 5W USB charger. Provided that they provide the correct voltage, chargers cannot PUSH extra power into your device. It is the device that must PULL the power from the charger.
I just ordered a Haylou GT1 Pro yesterday and i used your videos as guide to help me out. Number 4 tip was extremely helpful as i was early researching abt the wattage and what not. Thank you so much and stay safe!

A heads up on charging. If the charging connection is Usb-c on both ends, it means it is using PD and there is actually no voltage on the cable. This is unlike the old USB-A to Usb-c chargers which have a 5V potential present on the power rail at all times, that may kill your device. However, for Usb-c to usb-c chargers, protocol negotiation must occur before charging can begin. Basically, the charger tells the device what it can output, and the device tells it what it can accept and they default to the highest power that is able to be achieved by both, which is referred to as the handshake protocol. This protects your device. So, provided that both leads are Usb-c and devices are USB-IF compliant(there is no reason it shouldn't be, its cheap to implement), it cannot damage your device, no matter what it is.
You'd be surprised at how many non-compliant devices are actually out there. This is enough if a problem that a Google engineer began a database of compliant cables. The most notorious case was the Raspberry Pi 4 not being able to negotiate USB-PD if it's connected with an e-marker compliant cable. I also own a Bluetooth Speaker, an actual branded harman/Kardon speaker that I bought from an authorized JBL distributor, that can't charge from a USB-PD charger. It will only ever charge if I use an A-to-C cable.
@@Goodmanperson55 Yes this happens often on cheaper products as they are just using USB 2.0 power interfaces with the Type-C connector (a workaround is to solder resistors to the connector which will enable it to charge C2C). I'm surprised to hear about it from Harman Kardon, as Samsung Galaxy Buds and other products do support C2C charging.
I really like your reviews. I'm glad to see you clearing up that the issue is not fast charge but bad implementations. However by default all fast chargers throw 5V unless the device tell them otherwise, so unless you are using a crappy power adapter, the case cant kill itself unless it indeed have quick charge but badly implemented. I have tested Baseus and Xiaomi chargers with (from 18 to 65 W) and they all behave ok (careful with aliexpress Xiaomi chargers though, they are all fake). I think getting a "cheap" "20 dollars" usb multimeter would be a nice plus to your videos regarding this topic, like Ruideng TC66 or similars. And that would differentiate you from other reviewers.
I ordered QCY T9S thanks to your recommendation, I hope they will sound good and don't fall when I do exercices, thank you for your videos!!! Sadly I only have fast chargers😭😭
I doubt that a "high wattage" charger would brick any electronic device as the battery itself would limit the amount of power it can intake if the circuitry inside does not. So it's not really a valid point. Although using a low wattage 5w charger could extend the battery usage cycles of the case since it'll charge slower and cooler which is good.

I like the power portion tip. See, I have this USB voltage/Ampere tester. And I just checked my outlet with a built-in USB slot/s for charging. Now I got a reading of 4.98V with a 11708mAh. Now if we follow the formula of Kenneth, it is going to [Power (watts) = Volts x Ampere].. COnverting the mAh is dividing it to become Amperes. So that would be 11.7 Amperes. So that would be 5V multiplied to 11.7Ampere which is going to be equal to 58Watts..... I think at 4:11 he mentioned not to use 9V or 3amps. And yet what I have been currently using is 11.7Amps. Now I'm worried that my Haylou Pro would be toasted before it even hits 2-year anniversary. Oh the horror! I used it in my Laptop, the tester and it had shown me that my USB-3.0 slots are equipped with 4.98V and 12kmAh.....

Hi kenneth! I wanna ask you something... I’ve had a gt1 pro quite a while now,and i’ve got the idea to buy the original gt1 and swap the powerbank coz the gt1 pro powerbank is quite bulky So is it gonna work?
@Kenneth Tanaka have you encountered 1 of the TWS is not working in certain apps? Like NetFlix YT and Fb.. the left doesnt work, but both sides work in playing games like CODM or ML
Right I forgot to put these in! That should be tied to the default speaker/microphone set, try to enable ‘call audio’ in the earbuds’ bluetooth setting, or choose ‘bluetooth’ in call (e.g. Whatsapp in Android, or any iOS calls)

I had been using my sabbat x12 pro for w year without trouble charging the power with 5 amp. But it is slowly broken down because of rust on the metal conductor. So I bought new vooplay last yesterday. And there was warning not to plug it in fast charging power source.
I just watched a ton of your videos and I had no choice than to subscribe. Just did that now. You are very detailed while keeping it entertaining. I just purchased the tranya onyx neo (wish it was the spunky beats) as that is what is obtainable in my country for now. Plus they fall into what I am looking for in an earbud (I am a newbie) Just one question, how long do I have to charge the case(1st time before use) or should I just pop it in and use. Note: I will definitely go through your link just to support you next time I purchase an earbud. You are worth it.
Really appreciate the support man 🙏🏻 since these are not NiCd or NiMH batteries, you do not need to charge it for a set amount of time when you first got it, just charge it as you would normally 😁

a question is,my xiaomi adapter support fast charging with fast charging cable to phone,so if i use cable of ‘example sabbat e12 ultra’ with my xiaomi fast charger adapter, will make fast charging to my tws case or the cable of tws will cut down from 3.0A to 1.0A charge?
We're hoping that the fast charger will only provide 1A (or less) to the earbuds, but we never know if it could accidentally supply 3A and break the TWS, which is the thing that we want to avoid. So try to use a small charger 😁
The Fast Charging part is just confusing. Fast Charging usually needs special communication between the device and charger to trigger. If there is no Fast Charging circuitry, the charging rate will stay at baseline USB 5v power regardless of what adapter to use. Being able to Fast Charge requires intentionally designing the circuitry with that feature. If it does, then it makes it even more confusing why they would implement an expensive feature and then tell you not to use it.
Problem about the second tip is, you never know if you´ll find a proper fit until you try it on your ears. Ihave a couple of in-ears wired or TWS that are uncomfortable or impossible to get a good seal. The QCY T5 don´t get a proper seal with the stock eartips, as a result, it don´t sound good at all, with KZ it sounds good but don´t fit on the case.
That’s why I named the whole video as ‘things to do when you get your TWS’ 🙏🏻 before that you’ll have to rely on me (and others) as to how they fit, and the possible problems that may come up (i.e. 3rd party eartip support, overall fit, earfins, shape of earbuds)
Well this is bad because my charger is huawei super charger about 30wats... It charges my huawei phone for only 1.5H... But thank you for this and I will now use a Samsung adaptor from my lil bro this is very useful tip
Video idea: How to properly clean your ears and earphones. I even shave some hairs off in my ears and use a cleaning spray once a week and cotton swabs daily. My AirPods Pro I just clean with some disinfectant rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab.
thanks ken very informative video as always .. i have a question .. does all aptx headphones has good latency in a highend android phones? i was going to buy gt1+ but after you review i felt its not for me .. i need more bass .. not exactly looking for natural sound. i came across edifier x3 .. scarbir.com praised it even more than gt1+ and crowned it as the best budget tws .. but i also need low latency .. i wish you had this one reviewed .. your reviews are the most helpful in the web.. (i tested qcy T5 it was good but a little too bright for my taste and lacked bass)
Not necessarily, some phones (Samsung, for one) disabled the extra features of AptX like AptX TWS, AptX HD and AptX Adaptive and doesn't get that lower latency benefit. So in the budget realm, you should be looking for AptX TWS+ support (and inconveniently, not all Snapdragon chip supports it), and yes the Edifier X3 is fuller on the lower end, honestly it sounds better than the GT1 XR even (I've yet to put my review out though), but it's still nowhere near bass heavy if you're looking for it. Maybe the Realme Buds Q will be a better fit, or the best bass atm is Tronsmart Apollo Bold
@@namedkenn thanks man .. unfortunately i dont have access to realme .. so i've decided to up spend a little more and get fiil t1xs .. i wish you'd reviewed it as well .. but i watched your t1 pro rev .. it shouldn't be THAT much different .. or maybe it is?

Well try not to (despite technically it should work), you can instead plug it in to your phone or a laptop
I hear static noise on my haylou gt1 plus when I reduce the volume
Hi...When will u review the trueair 2?
Sorry no plans for now (got other earbuds to review already), but I know for sure it'll be good!
Hi i have a question, do you know a brand name 'Celebrat' ?
Sorry haven't heard of that before
Thanks for the tips! Quick question, will you review the haylou t16 with active noise cancellation?
Unfortunately T16 is not available in my country, so I won't be reviewing it anytime soon...
I have Sabbat E12 Ultra, that time I charged it with quick charge adaptor, now it's broken, lol. It cannot pairing anymore, cannot be detected by any smartphones.
Hi kenneth! I wanna ask you something...
I’ve had a gt1 pro quite a while now,and i’ve got the idea to buy the original gt1 and swap the powerbank coz the gt1 pro powerbank is quite bulky
So is it gonna work?
@Kenneth Tanaka have you encountered 1 of the TWS is not working in certain apps? Like NetFlix YT and Fb.. the left doesnt work, but both sides work in playing games like CODM or ML
So far I’ve got no such experience 🙏🏻
@@namedkenn I really dont know whats the problem 😭, thank you anyway 🙂
Please test Flydigi Cyberfox and Cyberfox t1 ❤️
Bang mau tanya dong kalau Haylou GT1 XR sama Eggel Liberty buds 2 mending ambil mana ya?
Eggel LB2 itu bass heavy banget banget banget yaa
Mi Earbuds Basic S or Basic 2? Which one you recommends?
Check out my recommendations video, I said multiple times there to not get the Airdots 2
Hello i just wanna ask if what would be the better option? The haylou gt1 xr or the soundpeats truefree 2? I cant decide on what to buy 😭
I've heard that TrueFree2 is quite bassy, and Haylou is more on the balanced-natural side, you pick which sound you like!
What can you do when during calls and messaging apps, your device is using it's own microphone instead of your earbuds microphone?
Right I forgot to put these in! That should be tied to the default speaker/microphone set, try to enable ‘call audio’ in the earbuds’ bluetooth setting, or choose ‘bluetooth’ in call (e.g. Whatsapp in Android, or any iOS calls)
Hey Kenneth i love your videos , you have a new subscriber,
Can you tell me if the Og airdots 1 earbuds cna be charged with airdots 2s (touch) case ?
because i have lost the case of my airdots 1 :( and i was thinking of buying a 2s so that both can be charged if possible ?
Kindly review the Lenovo x18. Thanks
Is it normal if the right earbuds of my Fiil T1 pro gets drain faster than my left earbud?
If it’s the master earbud, yes. This applies to every TWS out there
om Ken, do you have any recommendation for earbuds type thats not ear-in buds?
like huawei freebud 3 or airpod. just low latency would be okay
Check out my recommendations video, it’s in the half in-ear section, unfortunately probably the lowest latency for now is gonna be QCY T8 or Realme Buds Air Neo
what if the magnetic pin inside the case sucked in? I cant charge my right tws bcs of this.
Im using soundpeats truewings...
Maybe try dipping a q tip in alcohol and swab the pin
Or you can complain to the seller...
Which TWS to buy: FIIL T1 Pro or Tronsmart Apollo Bold?
Bass heavy sound or natural? Pick one 👍🏻
@@namedkenn Thank you, last question...which of the above have better call quality?
I had been using my sabbat x12 pro for w year without trouble charging the power with 5 amp. But it is slowly broken down because of rust on the metal conductor. So I bought new vooplay last yesterday. And there was warning not to plug it in fast charging power source.
It happens to me! I thought my earbuds wasn't charging and it was because I forgot to peel off the plastic! 🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha I know right!
Sir is sound peats a great tws? I have an haylou gt1 xr for me its lack of volume and bass. Do you have any suggestions for a budget tws.
Soundpeats is awesome! Go check em out
@@namedkenn thank you so much sir. Do you have a specific model of soundpeats you can recommend?
Nice info and nice opening
Thanks!
Bro haylou gt1xr is good for Samsung A51??
Well yeah!
I just watched a ton of your videos and I had no choice than to subscribe. Just did that now. You are very detailed while keeping it entertaining.
I just purchased the tranya onyx neo (wish it was the spunky beats) as that is what is obtainable in my country for now. Plus they fall into what I am looking for in an earbud (I am a newbie)
Just one question, how long do I have to charge the case(1st time before use) or should I just pop it in and use.
@@namedkenn Thanks man. You are of great help.
I just watch your videos now just to calm me.
Great review on the fiil T1, looks like my next earbuds ....... except things change before then.
Once again, Thanks
Hi Ken. Have you seen the Haylou T17, they look really promising. I use earphones only for exercise and I need really secure fit.
I'll check it out!
Hi Kenneth I'm new here and i really like how you review each products...I can't wait for you to review the new Soundpeats Q i really like the Simple white design and must have features like wireless charging and great noise cancellation with a nice mic... But also im interested if its really good sounding earbuds since its only supported SBC codec...and if its true that sound synchrony helps lessen the delay on playing games ir watching video... I hope you can review really soon...
a question is,my xiaomi adapter support fast charging with fast charging cable to phone,so if i use cable of ‘example sabbat e12 ultra’ with my xiaomi fast charger adapter, will make fast charging to my tws case or the cable of tws will cut down from 3.0A to 1.0A charge?
We're hoping that the fast charger will only provide 1A (or less) to the earbuds, but we never know if it could accidentally supply 3A and break the TWS, which is the thing that we want to avoid. So try to use a small charger 😁
The Fast Charging part is just confusing. Fast Charging usually needs special communication between the device and charger to trigger. If there is no Fast Charging circuitry, the charging rate will stay at baseline USB 5v power regardless of what adapter to use. Being able to Fast Charge requires intentionally designing the circuitry with that feature. If it does, then it makes it even more confusing why they would implement an expensive feature and then tell you not to use it.
kak, haylou t19 pake spinfit cp100 masih cukup ga masuk case?
Saya belum pernah coba nih maaf
@@namedkenn fix, nanti review spinfit wkkwkwk. Jadi nextnya tiap review tws ada part cocok ganti eartip apa nggk wkwkwk. Saran aja sih kak hehe
Hahah saya punyanya yang CP360 nih, yang memang didesain untuk TWS (enggak terlalu tinggi eartipsnya) supaya muat didalam case
@@namedkenn oh iya kak, CP360 pas buat T19 kan? Mau beli tapi takut ga cocok gt, soalnya mahal wkwkwk
What TWS you suggest with Wireless Charging capability?
So far FIIL T1 Pro is my favorite!
@@namedkenn not easy to get those informations, end up going always to the same brands, avoiding some brands and shapes
I forgot to use your links 😔 I just ordered ZNT Gamepods Max through shopee PH yesterday. wanna give support though😔
Well this is bad because my charger is huawei super charger about 30wats... It charges my huawei phone for only 1.5H...
But thank you for this and I will now use a Samsung adaptor from my lil bro this is very useful tip
That's good to hear!
tcl move audio s150 - very nice! $28 at Amazon!
Bro. Watching from Pakistan, lovely honest great reviews. 🇵🇰
Thank you so much man 😁
Video idea: How to properly clean your ears and earphones.
I even shave some hairs off in my ears and use a cleaning spray once a week and cotton swabs daily.
My AirPods Pro I just clean with some disinfectant rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab.
rikues reviu soundpeats sonic dong bang. kalo bisa ada vs h1 atau 3 se
Lagi nabung dulu nih 🙏🏻
@@namedkenn oke bang, selow saja
glad i watched ur video was planning on using mwith 120w lol
thanks ken very informative video as always .. i have a question .. does all aptx headphones has good latency in a highend android phones? i was going to buy gt1+ but after you review i felt its not for me .. i need more bass .. not exactly looking for natural sound. i came across edifier x3 .. scarbir.com praised it even more than gt1+ and crowned it as the best budget tws .. but i also need low latency .. i wish you had this one reviewed .. your reviews are the most helpful in the web..
My gt1 xr doesnt have any ear tips that properly fit. 😭
You can try 3rd party ones like Spinfit!
Great..advice ..thks sir...
You’re welcome!
Bro can you review blitzwolf flb2 tws earbuds.it isn't released yet but can pre order.plz need a review after released.I'm waiting for it.love from Sri Lanka
