Replacing Subaru Headlight Connector

In this video I replace a bad headlight connector on a 1997 Subaru Legacy. And use my power probe butane soldering kit.

Can I just strip the wire, twist the new wires on and seal with electrical tape?

Is this voltage okay for low volt beans (dolphins) rather than heat shrink?
