Interesting one Peter. Always satisfying once you have it sorted though. Vacuum pipe to rocker cover is likely because the design engineers have built a vacuum reservoir tank into the body of the rocker cover. VW seem to like doing that.

Wow, that is the first time I have ever heard of it being built into the rocker cover. That’s mad, I’m sitting here with a big smile on my face, I don’t know why but that thought is just cool. Thanks for that info Russell 🙏🙏🙏

Brilliant Peter that was a cliff hanger that would of defeated most without a doubt and no parts needed. To the lay person two pipes fitted the wrong way round must be a two minute fix ? Not so it was a long road to the final destination- thanks for taking us along for the ride Peter really great cartoon ✊

      Cheers Kevin 🙏🙏

It’s a bit like being in a car wanting to go faster & then when you are going too fast all you want to do is slow down. Funny how things go eh Chris 😂😂😂😂

There’s a lot of learning in this video Peter…I assume the Autel would have provided you with all the same information as the Mahel? There is no such thing as a simple job and not having a clear history of what had been done to the wagon previously really left you at a disadvantage. Great video Peter and the use of equipment really helps us to get a greater understanding of the systems and their processes… 👍🏻

Had this a few times where the diaphragm in the solenoid is split and when it try’s do drop the vacuum to create boost it can’t, I think they call it negative deviation

Have you ever looked at live data & seen loads of PIDs with phrases like negative deviation, then thought what the heck does all that stuff mean 😱😱
      😂😂😂😂

I have an LR that has this error right now.
You'd be surprised at how many things can cause a P0299 fault.
    I'm running out of ideas.

Turbo control systems can be sometimes quite hard to pinpoint faults in & persistence can be very often needed. Did you check the map sensor for carbon ???
And Jimmy O Reilly has some good videos on these 🤞🤞

Witch WiringDiagram tools use for this car?

I was using Autodata but if memory serves me correct I think is was looking at the wrong engine type due to wiring discrepancies 🤔🤔

What model computer is that Autel?

It is a ‘Mahle’ scantool running on a generic android tablet. I got it from Ryan’s automotive in Ballywilliam, Co. Wexford Ireland 🇮🇪
