Very excited to learn you will attend GenCon 2024! I will watch for you. Usually I use GenCon to learn a few of the games I bought in previous years and haven't been able to play yet. I also am fortunate to GM for AEG's Big Game Night (Friday night) where we have a blast teaching about 800 gamers some of AEG's newest games. GenCon is lots of fun, but, lots and lots of gamers. In particular, watch the crowd anticipating the opening of the vendor hall on Thursday morning about 8 or 8:30 (I think) - a few thousand of us, requested NOT to run but walk, like kids in a candy store. Also, you are saying Las Vegas correctly, but most of us in America say "Lost Wages" - say it fast a few times. That's what happens in Vegas, yes, wages stay in Vegas :-). Safe travels ! I have some Norwegian in me (my namesake as my Great Grandfather immigrated from Norway to the U.S. around 1900).
Yay! I hope you have a wonderful time! I will be at GEN CON and hope to see you - and make the secret sign!
My husband and I will be there for our first time. I hope we see you there!
Looking forward to the travel vlog 👍
Thank you 😁
My first Gen Con was Gen Con 20 if I recall correctly when it was still in Milwaukee, WI. We went every year for quite a while but only went once to Indy. It was fun but it's gotten a bit too crowded for us. Had I known sooner I'd have loved to have met you guys! Have fun!!!
That is awesome! Maybe we can meet there another time :)
So happy for you guys because of your passion for games. I hope you two have a blast there.
Omg I’ll be at gencon too! Would love to meet you guys finally!
Looking forward to see you there! 🤩
Sounds like an amazing trip! Hope you have an awesome time!
Thank you! I have a pretty epic trip planned, so fingers crossed it will be amazing! 🤩
It will be our first time at Gen Con, too. It would be great to see you. Hopefully our paths will cross.
Hope you’ll have an amazing time! And hope to see you there 🤩
Welcome to the United States! If you're beer drinkers, please ask the locals "what's a good craft beer here?" Or go to the local brew pub. The US has enormous numbers of different kinds of beer that you can get good beer. Just don't order the obvious brands. In Colorado, try anything by New Belgian Brewing Company. I like the Fat Tire. Rocky Mountain National Park is pretty but the east side is so full of people its more like a botanical garden. Drive around to the west side for more wildlife and less people. Just like Norway, the larger wildlife may not appreciate people getting too close. Pack a picnic lunch, the town of Grand Lake doesn't have enough restaurants for the number of tourists. Every state has different laws on buying alcohol too, so some places you can get anything at the grocery store, and others you have to go to the liquor store for the hard stuff, and others only have state run stores. Oh, yeah, rent a car. Only about five cities have decent public transportation. Pike's Peak is awesome too, you can see purple mountains majesty and amber waves of grain. But here, take the trolley to the top. You get to see a lot more.
Thank you for all the suggestions and tips! 🤩
Fun. Been doing Gencon since the late 70s and would be interested in hearing your impression.
I’m excited! 🤩
Sounds like a fantastic trip. Enjoy!
I am so excited! 🥳
Congrats on being able to get to GenCon, this year. I hope you are welcomed warmly to the US and you have a fantastic time!
Thank you so much 🥳
I'd love to see travel vlogs! Also hope you have a great time in our fair country and really enjoy your time here.
Thank you so much! Hope you’ll enjoy the travel coverage! :D
I hope your US tour is amazing!
Thank you so much!
I hope to see you at GenCon👋(closest thing to the secret sign).
Hope to see you there! 🤩
How exciting!!! We'll be at Gen Con, and we are sooooo looking forward to meeting you both!! 😊 Safe travels!! Can't wait to see all your US adventures❤
Happy to hear! Hope to see you there 🥳
Welcome. I hope I get a chance to meet you guys (you're one of my favorite channels). I'll be demoing for CGE so if you happen to be in their room (it's huge), please find me to say hello.
Excited for you guys! Wish I could make it this year, but every other year is what works for my budget/schedule.
Hope to catch you there another year! 😁
I'm so jealous! Not that you're going to Gen Con, but because everyone at Gen Con has a chance to meet you. 😁
Your pronunciation of Las Vegas is pretty close: it's Spanish but anglicized, so the last vowel is dropped. Approximately "Lahs VAY-guss" or "VAY-giss." Either way, no one will have any trouble understanding you, they'll just know you're from out of town. Speaking of which, the state of Nevada is "Ne-VAD-ah", not "Ne-VAH-dah".
Thank you so much for that! 🤩
I can't wait to hear how you compare it to Essen Spiel
I’m excited as well! I have few expectations, so we will see how it is!
Wish my husband I could be there to meet you in person! Hope you have a wonderful time for your first trip to the US and to Gen Con! Love your YT channel! And I would say VAY-guss.
Thank you so much! Hope you’ll enjoy the Gen Con coverage at least! 😊
How awesome! I wish we were going to be there! We will not be there this year, but hope that you enjoy your time in the US!!!!
Thank you so much 🤩
I've been waiting for years for this! I ordered my Board Gaming Ramblings shirt and will be hoping to meet you!!!
Awesome! Cannot wait to see you there 🤩
Awesome news. Hope to catch you both to say “Hello.”
Hope to see you there! 🤩
Have fun at GenCon. I was there last year for my first time. I worked in a booth so I did not get to play many games but it was still a lot of fun. I suggest stopping by the consignment room. There are a lot of rare and old games there.
Thank you for the reccomendation! We are excited 😁
As an Indianapolis local, welcome!
If you need some local support with, I don't know, logistics, let me know. I'm happy to help if I can.
Thank you so much! That is very kind of you :) Will we see you at Gen Con?
I went last year. It was amazing and overwhelming! You will have a great time! Looking forward to your travelog and gaming videos. 😊
Glad to hear you had fun! Hope you’ll enjoy our coverage! 🥳
Magic! Playing boardgames in nature! Escape rooms! oh and gen con
The Castle?
Won’t have the time this time around sadly, but I want to go one day!
If you will be in the DC area before the Con, please let me know.
Sadly not this time!
Hi! That secret sign has a name here in my country. We call it Panipipa! Hope you enjoy GenCon, guys. I`m eager to hear your impressions. Have a nice trip! ✈
Awesome name! I love it! Hope you’ll enjoy our coverage of the con! 🤩
See you there!
Yes! Looking forward to it 🥳
Look at MOUNTAINS?!? Are you coming through Colorado?!?
Yes, that is the plan! 😁
I’m going to Gen Con, too!
Hope to see you there!
Ah, thumbing your noses. (brief nostalgia interlude) My very first (of very many) trip to the Principal's Office was for thumbing my nose at someone during lunch. All downhill from first grade!
Hahahahha, that is awesome! It’s good to be adults! We can now do silly things and make them our own!
Oh man…the one year I am not going! I AM going to Essen this year though
See you in Germany then 😁
The pronunciation of Las Vegas in Norwegian is close to that in English. Because it's a Spanish name, meaning "The Meadows". Which makes them probably the hottest meadows in the world around the time you will be there. (As I write this, it's 42°C in Las Vegas. It gets hotter later in the summer.)
Have fun on your roadtrip. 2 weeks from LA to Indy is enough to see many things, but I'd recommend not trying to see all the things. There are a lot of things. 8-)
We will not try to see all the things 😂
I’m going to melt in Vegas 😅
@@BoardGamingRamblings When my Norwegian relatives used to come to northern Minnesota to visit, they would go out and lay in the sun if even the smallest sliver of the sun was visible. That shouldn't be a problem for you. 8-)
If you're going to visit several of the National Parks and Monuments in the western US, I'd recommend getting the annual parks pass. It will pay its cost back in ~3 parks.
Oh by the way, it’s pronounced las vay gus
Awesome! Thank you!
I can't even figure out how to get tickets from the website. How much is it for the badges to get in?
You are saying Vegas correct. Normally you guys pronounce "V" as we would pronounce a "W" so I can understand how it feels weird. I would expect you to say it like "Wegas" but that is not actually how it's said. Its like "Vay-gis"
Thank you 😁
V- ay- gus
Thank you!
Las-Vay-gis
Thank you! :D
Visiting Indianapolis for your first trip to the US would be like me coming to Norway to visit your sanitation systems and garbage dumps. I hope Gencon is fun. Try some White Castle.
Haha, I think we’ll see many different things the different places we’re going, and Indianapolis is mostly for the games and people! Don’t really know anything about the city 😅
Las Vegas is a bit...meh. Unless you go there to meet up with the Board Game Barrage crew.
I'd rather spend more time in nature to be honest, Three Kings is amazing.
I think I am going to love both Vegas and ghe nature 🤩
