That was very helpful and straight forward. They are not many tutorials on how to weave in ends as you go for knitting like there is for crochet. I knew it could be done, so thank you for showing us how.
Nice clear tutorial, Christina! The first part is how our mother taught me (I'm guessing Shelagh too), but I hadn't seen the second part, with the left over tail. Excellent!
I don't see how this could be more professionally done, this is just fab except for the crashing sound and a bit low volume. I am in process of using up my stash of Paton classic wools and some I hand dyed and the ends are discouraging and a real problem when you do a lot of changes so this is just wonderful. Your video and voice teaching technique the best!
Thank you SO much for showing this! When I do mine, I would normally knit with the tail and the new yarn, but that only worked when I use the same color, and had the disadvantage of having a few stitches that were bigger than the rest. I love this, and will be trying it next time i join a color!
Thank you sooooo much! I have been scared to use two colors, especially on socks because I just couldn’t figure out what to do with the ends. I watched many videos and read a lot of stuff and just couldn’t get anything I really liked. Finally I happened upon your video and tried it (a few times) and I love it (although it will take a while for it to feel comfortable). I love the look of this. Thank you so much for making something so scary into something doable. :)
I'd heard of the technique you used on the gray tail, but doing it for the peach tail is genius!! Thanks! *runs to tink my color contrast toe and redo with this technique!*
WOW! Game changer for me. I already do a method where I just move the tail back and forth as I knit (so it is caught like a float) but this seems simpler in some ways. Thanks for this video!
Is there any way I can up the sound, it’s so low that I have to put the iPad up to my ear, then I can’t see what you are doing. I really want to learn this technique. Thank you
Loooove this technique! Thank you for your time and sharing your talents. The whoosh sound effect hurt my ears so badly...... extremely jarring. I will use this video again but with captions next time and putting the volume on mute first. But thank you for your awesome tip.
Thanks so much for a terrific tip and very helpful tutorial. Now another question...love the way your toe decreases look. If you have have the time and/or inclination I would love to see how you do the. They look so neat and tidy.
Love this video!! 😃 Please. Would you let me know which cast on and the increase you use for your toe? I’m learning and some increases look better than others. I like yours. Thank you!! 💕
Very well explained tutorial Christina, thanks a lot!I knew the first part but not the second, really clever help! If you would do that on a shawl or flat object, would you do the old color at the beginning of the WS row and the tail for the new at the end of the WS row?Love your podcast!
Dunja Witt on a shawl I weave in the old colour as I am knitting the first row of the new. Then I weave in the new colour either as I come back on the WS or on the next RS row depends on my mood. On my tamdou I did it on the next RS
Thanks so much! So clear! I do have a question...do you use this same technique when you add a ball of the same color yarn for a larger project (e.g., a sweater)?
Couldn’t help noticing the perfectly mirrored toe decreases. How do you do your SSK’s? I’ve tried pretty much evey technique on videos but have never been satisfied with the results. Look forward to hearing from you. nycSox
Carla Jewett I slip 1 as if to knit and place it back on the left needle, then knit 2 stitches together through the back loop. Then on the next row I knit that stitch through the back loop also.
This is amazing! Does this work when changing colors for the heel too? I am always having trouble figuring out a good way to add in the heel color. Thanks!
Needs to be redone so everyone can actually hear you. You keep moving your fork under the camera so it’s hardly seen. Would have been a good video otherwise.
BAD AUDIO. Would much appreciate it if you would REDO this video. TIPS: When you tape a knitting video use GIANT needles, SUPER BULKY yarn, CONTRASTING background, & CONTRASTING yarn colors. I have no idea what I was watching. Remember that there will always be BEGINNERS trying to learn.
Joan HAMLIN there is absolutely nothing wrong with this audio. perhaps the issue is with your device. as far as using GIANT yarn for this tutorial, I think the video is close enough that it is very clear and the fact that she took the time to make this video is generous enough I don’t think she needs to create a new project when she can use the one she’s working on especially when it’s as clear as this is. try being thankful when people take time from their day to do something like this it is not required of them to do this! geez how ungrateful and rude
Joan HAMLIN i’m pretty sure i’m not the one that needs to “calm down” as you are the one being ugly to someone that took their time to make a video for the benefit of others. regardless of others comments you were rude in yours. just own it
Thank you for showing this technique for us Continental style knitters.
I’ve been knitting socks for ages and this is the first time I’ve seen this! So happy, can’t wait!
Just discovered this today and want to say, "thank you". I love your sock kits and this trick will help the socks be ready just that much sooner!
This saved my day, I'm serious. Thank you a bazillion times for making this brilliant tutorial. ☕😊
Thank you So very much for this technique - continental style! So helpful! Love it!
What a great tutorial Christina. This is the method I use to weave in the ends for my mitered square memory blanket.
o my gawd, you are a genius!😉
My mind is blown! Totally using this fir the pair of scrappy advent calendar socks I'm knitting!
Thanks so much for this great video. Clear, concise and a great technique.
That was very helpful and straight forward. They are not many tutorials on how to weave in ends as you go for knitting like there is for crochet. I knew it could be done, so thank you for showing us how.
Ingenious!!!! 😎 you're too cool for knitting school. Using this forever and ever now. Winning!
thank you so much, so helpful, please do more tutorials. love you both so much in the podcast.
Just wow. I hope I can eventually get the tension right on two yarns in one hand, my hat is off to you....
I am a newbie in sock knitting and that technique was amazing, I hope to try that on my next pair. Thank you for sharing.
Wow! Really elegant method to weave in ends!
This is great! Thank you so much for sharing!
That is really cool technique!!! LOVE the mini hanks in your table!!!!
Nice clear tutorial, Christina! The first part is how our mother taught me (I'm guessing Shelagh too), but I hadn't seen the second part, with the left over tail. Excellent!
Great technique! I'll be trying this on my current socks. Thank you!
Great tip! Thanks for clearly demonstrating this.
I don't see how this could be more professionally done, this is just fab except for the crashing sound and a bit low volume. I know those needles! That makes the over/under easier. Love this technique, so easy.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! It's brilliant!
MIND COMPLETELY BLOWN!!!!
Wonderful tip!! Never thought to do that - it will save me so much time.
Thanks, very helpful info. 🌼🌺🌸
Super! I tried the “magic knot” on my scrappy socks. They not only looked awful, a number of them came apart. This is defo the way to go!
FREAKING BRILLIANT!!!!!!!
Like this! Clear camera work.
I have never seen anything thing like it

me too😍 viewed this a while back and came back again to savor the fine points I missed/forgot.
This is just so phenomenal!
I'd heard of the technique you used on the gray tail, but doing it for the peach tail is genius!! Thanks! *runs to tink my color contrast toe and redo with this technique!*
Wow!! I love this!!! Thanks for sharing!!
I love this technique. Thanks for such a clear demo Christina! I'm going to try it on my next hat when I have to add the 2nd ball. :)
I've never seen this technique. Its brilliant thank you I can't wait to try it
Brilliant tutorial. 🙏🏻❤️
WOW! Game changer for me. I already do a method where I just move the tail back and forth as I knit (so it is caught like a float) but this seems simpler in some ways. Thanks for this video!
This is so freaking awesome. This is definitely a technique I will use in the future. Thank you!
Thank you for this great tip!! I hate weaving in ends
Wonderful tutorial = so useful! Thank you
Thank you so much for this tutorial!
Great tip! I will definitely be using this in the future!
Fantastic technique!!!!!!!!!
FINALLY!!! Thank you so much!! I have looked for ages for a weaving in another color video!! Perfect!! Finally!! #Subscribed!!
Thank you! I want to make some socks out of some mini sets, but have been dreading dealing with the tails. This will be perfect.
I'm wearing headphones watching this and so I peed myself at the sound effect/transition.
That's genius! Thank you for this video!
Thank you this is so cool! Going to use this on my shawl.
This is amazing. Thank you for sharing!!
thanks for this!! Going to go try it now!!
Freaking genius! I can't wait to try it!! Thank you. :)
Thank you Christina, it’s brilliant.
Amazing!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!! Hugs from Portugal!
I have been using this technique for colour work at the start and finish. It has been so helpful, thank you for sharing!!!! (Newdknit on Rav) ❤️❤️❤️🇦🇺
Is there any way I can up the sound, it’s so low that I have to put the iPad up to my ear, then I can’t see what you are doing. I really want to learn this technique. Thank you

Thanks for this, I am going to try it!
Thanks for sharing!
Great tip!! Thanks for sharing 🤓
lovely presentation, such even knitting; can hardly hear you without earphones and volume way up.
Do you trim the ends after you move them to the inside part of the sock, or do you leave them long?
Thanks for the great tip. I hope to use it in an upcoming project.❤️
FANtasTIC!!
Great technique!
Brilliant! Thank you.
Thank you for sharing!
Love it!
Thanks so much for a terrific tip and very helpful tutorial. Now another question...love the way your toe decreases look. If you have have the time and/or inclination I would love to see how you do the. They look so neat and tidy.
Helpful! Thanks!
Great - I will try today!
can you just snip the ends of the woven yarns or do you have to still weave them in to be safe a little?
What size needles are you using and how much yarn do you use for each colour for the self striping
Love this tutorial 😊 Thank you so much
Do you still weave in the ends or just cut it after this method?
Thank you!
Love this video!! 😃 Please. Would you let me know which cast on and the increase you use for your toe? I’m learning and some increases look better than others. I like yours. Thank you!! 💕
What toe decrease do you use to creat those angular jogs on the side. Mine are more of a straighter line?
Very well explained tutorial Christina, thanks a lot!I knew the first part but not the second, really clever help! If you would do that on a shawl or flat object, would you do the old color at the beginning of the WS row and the tail for the new at the end of the WS row?Love your podcast!

Thank you so much for responding!! I will try this on my next pair of socks.
Is there a way for English knitters to adapt this?
For each new Color, there's an end to weave in?
Thank you
Going to try this technique today, excellent tutorial. Can I ask how you did your toe decreases, it looks different to mine. X
I sooo want to learn this... its a bit blurry though, cant quite see some of it. And when I knit the yarn is on my right finger... this is baffling me
Thanks so much! So clear! I do have a question...do you use this same technique when you add a ball of the same color yarn for a larger project (e.g., a sweater)?

Sensory warning at 2:33 😬

Elizabeth Fernandez it sure does
Would have liked to hear your process, but I could hardly hear you, even whenI turned the volume up. Maybe you can get closer to your voice piece.
Turn up the Sound on YOUR computer. The video sound is usually as loud as it can go. Go to your Toolbar and click on the Sound Icon.
Camera is off the intro & you repeat too fast
I have speaker all the way up and can not hear her, Can't really make out what she is saying just mumbling
This process doesn't fix the jagged rows of color that I see.
Not very helpful for me - a first time attempt
Needs to be redone so everyone can actually hear you. You keep moving your fork under the camera so it’s hardly seen. Would have been a good video otherwise.

C. Stephens: Calm down. Others posted audio problems, below: See "Cindi Bednarz" comment.
