    I stumbled onto your video in my search for knitting jogless joins with striped color changes on socks. Your intro has me wanting to see more of your videos. Let me start by saying, I like that your videos don’t blast music and block out what you’re saying. Second your voice is very calm and pleasant, not annoying, condescending. Now… I will watch the rest of your video, I just wanted to add this comment before I forgot.

    Great seeing you on IVKN last night. Wonderful to come back to this video and watch it again. I've been doing a variation of this but your approach-- attaching the new yarn several stitches *before* the beginning of the round (and weaving through the back for the remainder of the round) -- results in a MUCH cleaner look on the front. And thanks, too, for the slip stitch on the second round of the new color. Did NOT know about that. Now I'm far more willing to make scrappy socks!

But most of all I am glad to see you using both types of knitting to show that it’s ok to use both or one or the other and there are different types of each style, thank you, it is a really good video 😀

    Hey Brownberry, love the show. In terms of weaving in ends as I go, why do you say every other stitch, as opposed to every stitch?

    • @annmariebusu9924
      @annmariebusu9924 3 года назад +1

      Every other stitch is more secure since the yarn goes over and under. If it was every stitch in the same place I think it will be easier to pull out. Just like weaving I try to go in different directions.

    Is there anything different to add a new color thread to the heel using the heel flap technique

    • @heyBrownBerry
      @heyBrownBerry  4 года назад

      mccoydg this should work just fine for adding a different heel flap color

    • @mccoydg
      @mccoydg 4 года назад

      heyBrownBerry I just wasn’t sure how that would work since you’re not knitting in the round at that point your knitting back-and-forth on just your flap until you have to then go and pick up your stitches

    • @heyBrownBerry
      @heyBrownBerry  4 года назад +1

      mccoydg the key is to “trap” the yarn tails in as you’re knitting. This can still be done on the knit tie of your heel flap but will need to be done over more stitches if you doing a slip stitch heel. I would weave in the 2nd yarn end on the next right side row. I don’t tend to use this weaving technique on a purl row.
