Thank you ssssooo much for this video. I’m a self taught knitter so I learn new things when I need them. I’m working on a shawl that has 21 colors in a wedge and 7 wedges so that is a lot of color changes and I hate weaving in tales. I’m on my 4th wedge when I found this video. Thank you sooo much. Also it looks very neat and clean on the back of the project.

I just discovered your technique works great for doing color work! I’m doing my first color work project. (Knit sweater for my dog!!) and so I don’t have long floats ever 2 or 3 stitches I do your stitch to make my floats shorter! This tip has been a lifesaver! Thank u!!!!

I never thought of doing that for ends! I came across this trick for catching colorwork floats and it works great. I will be using now for ends, too!

Thank you so much for this great tutorial, Natalie! It came at the perfect time as I’m making a pair of scrappy socks with my Advent minis. I’m a continental knitter & I’m actually holding the both my working yarn and the tails in my left hand. I’m pinching the tails with my thumb & middle finger, which is working well. I just couldn’t wrap my head around holding the yarn in my right hand! 😅 Thanks again! ~Amy

This is very nice - I think I would love to try it for color work floats - what do you do with the grey yarn tail in the sample you showed?

Can you knit over the ends if you’re knitting a pattern? What are you doing with the end of the other color?

Hi! Thanks for the video! I am making an advent sweater out of all my minis, so I can't wait to try this. Do you think it is secure enough for a sweater? Thank you!

killylovesamis I think so! As long as your yarn has a little stickyness to it. You can also do this for a for about 7-8 stitches and then use a tapestry needle to go back a ways. Defeats the purpose a little but it’s still quicker!

Youbare using a REVERSE YO....because when you say to do a YO with the tail, i would want to wrap the tail in the other, ie clockwise, direction.
