Tips from someone who used to spray bedliners.. if you want to cover up the holes in the bed you can use a small piece of masking tape to cover the hole before you spray and once the liner hardens it will be invisible... also use wire tape for the edges instead of masking tape (looks like pinstripe tape, but with a wire in it) that way when you get ready to peel the masking tape off you pull the wire to cut the bedliner so you can leave a clean edge and not have to worry about leaving tape behind that you have to pick out lol.. lastly and most importantly.. DO NOT close your tailgate for at least 24 hours, the liner is still tacky and can actually glue your tailgate shut! lol
Hey boss, question for you to make sure I'm not being stupid. Places near me want $600+ to do my bed so if I were to buy 2 or 3 kits for $200-$300, that would solve the thickness issue while still being cheaper, correct? Or do these bedliner liquids not thicken up like I am thinking they would?
@@bdr3481 it’s been a while since I watched this video so I don’t remember the type of coating his spray was.. really depends on the type of bed liner spray and the job you want it to do for you.. it’s been about 10 years since I used to do it and I can’t remember the brand of the spray we used but it was like a rubber coating when it dried (which I think is similar to what he used) and the more product you used the thicker it would be.. it was perfect for keeping things from sliding around your bed while driving, but on the flip side since it was “rubber like” and it wasn’t durable so a thicker layer would be better.. but if your going to be throwing toolboxes and heavy items with sharp corners around in the bed I’d say you’d want to go with a bedliner similar to rhino liner.. it’s more like concrete and in that case you don’t need a super thick layer for it to be effective.. flip side to the rhino liner is depending on the texturing it can be rough on your knees when crawling around the bed and cargo may shift… it’s all pros and cons..
@@texas15013 thanks boss
Do u peel the wire fresh or when gets dry?
And do u lett it dry then apply another coat? I seen some videos like that but he used the whole 4 quarters at one time
@@fishbusterss we used to peel the wire tape and masking tape off after about 15-30 mins or so while it was still tacky, but starting to cure.. instead of extra coats I would say do it all in one go, we used a spray machine to get it to about 1/16-1/8” thick and then did a mist over it to give it some texture.. a lot of the thickness needed really depends on the type of bed liner used.. stuff like rhino liner hardens like concrete and you can get away with a thin layer.. the stuff we used was more rubbery so we would spray a little thicker on the floor of the bed compared to the sides to give it more durability in the high use area.. I don’t know how that product would react to multiple coats over dried coats.. it may work out fine, or flip side the layers start to peel apart down the road..
I have never once been in love with a garage before but yours is immaculate, id kill for your garage
Lol, I see garages that clean and empty and I’m like where do they put their stuff?
I have a 3 car and couldn’t fit a Prius in there let alone my truck, lol.

This is awesome that your using frog trap 🐸... I make that tape at my job... been making that tape for over 11 years and is awesome to see someone actually using it on cars...
I make it too I’m a coater operator at shurtape!
@@ericwallace1470 that’s awesome ya I’m a coater operator at plant 36 Shurtape hickory...
I'd recommend to do the top of the bed rails also. It protects them when something is slid into the bed.
I did this to my 2011 a couple years ago and its still holding strong...easy to touch up. I also sprayed the door handles, front grill, brush guard and about to do the entire truck.
Coming from someone that has worked at custom truck shop and did bedliners. Honestly this way better then any rush job they would make me do on the regular. They wanted bedliners done with in 2 hours. Prep and spraying. Can it be done yes. Does it look good. Yea. Is this DIY better than that. Hell yes it is. An you save so much more money from it. Good job man. Can’t wait to spay my 2012 Silverado beginning of the year
I appreciate it!
I just sprayed my Trail Boss this past Saturday with Raptor and it looks amazing. Professional results for a fraction of the cost. Thanks Chad.
Right on!
I just did my bed with raptor liner last night, looks really good. I used 30 psi, the texture was perfect.
Just finished my 6ft bed. 2 bottles on the sides 2 coates. 2 bottles for the bed plus tailgate. Worked out perfectly with a tiny bit to spare. Make sure you overlap 50% when spraying to avoid spray lines.
Aloha from Texas lived on Oahu for 6 yrs. My wife is a local girl. Bought my house in Waianae, love your videos I got a 2021 Silverado love it can't wait to do different mods.
I just discovered his channel and love the name. We love Hawaii but live in the DFW area.
How is your raptor liner holding up?
Hi! This is my first video of yours I watched and I really liked it. I work in the detail department of a dealership and what we use to get over spray off; paint, floors, and basically anywhere is called: Clear Reflections "C-Solve" or Citrus solvent, it is an extremely harsh solvent that will basically just wipe the overspray bed liner off and also is very good for getting plastidip and other rattle can sprays off. We use it on new cars that get the undercarriage rust protection put on as the place that does it for us is very bad about overspray and the whole car is usually covered.
Super helpful. Thank you for the info!!
If there is one thing I love, it is Raptor, if one thing I dislike the most it is the sound of sandpaper scratching any surface! So it will be a lifelong situation I will get over...
I’ve had it on my 2008 Silverado for a few months and has held up wonderfully!
Excellent prep work brother! Wish I woulda known from previous vids that you were going to do this. I woulda warned you to make sure everything is completely covered. I’ve sprayed this 5 times (87 el Camino, 87 Monte SS undercarriage)and man oh man you gotta cover and re cover EVERYTHING! When I saw the open space and flooring exposed, I was like 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 But it came out AMAZINGLY clean Bro! 🏆🏁🏆🏁🏆
Lol I spent an hour with degreaser and a scrubbing brush... all good now, but lesson learned!
I have a raptor liner truck and it’s good. I can recommend it for exterior look and light duty bed use. But it will never match line X for bed use. There’s a reason why line x bakes on and has a different gun with a lot of pressure. But I do recommend going thicker if it was my truck. If you toss a shovels, chain links or a metal house appliance it will scratch or chip easier than line x.
All you need now to add the cherry to the truck/tailgate is a deezee tailgate assist! Game changer for your truck! Highly recommend for your Silverado 🤙🏼 🤙🏼
Thanks for the video! I’m prepping my new RAM right now as I await the Raptor liner to be delivered. Great job!
You did this in Nov 15, 2020, is there a follow up video to let us know how the product held up to the elements, sun and overall wear and tear? Would you buy this product again?
What size air compressor did you use
Just a small 3 gal compressor from Lowes. Nothing special. It was able to keep up.
H&B spray on bedliner and truck accessories Houston Tx. $329 for your standard bed and $399 for a longbed. Takes about a hour and a half. Lifetime warranty too!
I did a rustoleum bed liner. Mine was glossy too, after a few months the sun will tame it down a few degrees.. looks good bro!!
Came out great brotha!! If I could recommend some self protection to you. Take a 1” (I believe) hose clamp and secure it to your tailgate joint. This will SIGNIFICANTLY help deter potential thieves from your tailgate. Trust me you won’t be disappointed!!
Raptor is amazing! I painted the bumpers and grill and mirrors on my new trailboss. So much better then that shinny thin paint 👍
I did the same bed liner on my 09 Silverado and I even taped off the bed rails and sprayed them as well and I love the way it came out ! But the kit I bought was an 8 bottle kit I wanted a pretty thick coat
Yes the ticker the better I learned the hard way.
It looks great. Your truck is nice also. I think you’d love Ez Armor for your tires. It’s a coating that you put on your tires. It’s not oily or greasy. Protects against dry rot and lasts a long time. The sweet thing for you and your truck is that it won’t sling at all onto your truck.
Awesome work, those hard to reach corners I used adhesive promoter and worked great,I also raptor lined the whole outside of my truck in ford tractor blue and looks amazing
That garage is absolutely wild. I should have done the raptor kit instead of harbor freight but I didn't know about it until today. 😂
Great video and done a few myself👍❤️Nothing like the self gratification of hard work and finished product💪
What size compressor and what CFM an PSI did you hit it with? Looks great dood
well done professional video. I had concerns on the thickness as you mentioned. Have you considered a second or third coat? I'd think adhesion would be pretty strong.
I’ve several loads in the bed since I’ve installed it and have been surprised how durable it’s been. No chipping or scratches yet
I like what you do to your Silverado and all your diys i recently just bought one black z71 LT 2013 love the truck... I've just been watching you the entire time since I bought my truck lol cheers bud
Looks nice, that's what I want to do to mine. And price is not bad at all. Nice truck and the trail boss
I spray Berliners at Bullet Liner. For 450$ you get a real high heat spray on bed liner with a lifetime warranty. These don’t look terrible but Raptor liner can’t stand up to the abuse. We have had to strip these out of multiple trucks to spray our liner. You just can’t beat the real thing.
I'm going to spray my whole 2005 nissan titan
Been watching all of your videos lately. Love the channel. Ordered some moto metal wheels and tires for my sierra last week and just realized today they are pretty much the same wheels that you have on the og silverado.
Epic, and not just your garage! I'm officially convinced now that I'm not going to spray in my bedliner, way too much work for me & I'm trying to protect my original paint.
Your truck looks awesome and its a great ad for Linex, err Raptor ; )
Just watched this video on 3/5/24. After all this time how is the Raptor Liner holding up? Thinking of doing one on my Silverado!
How is your bed liner holding up so far? Any chips or fading?
Really looks nice like the flat look ,getting one like that
I work for a rhino lining place and we use a different sander and today I sanded 3 trucks in 45 minutes
Same, This "liner" offers zero protection, But its 10mil thick at the max. Mine are 120mil. Just my opinion.
Love your videos brother. You should install on of those rear light bars. Would look nice.
Did you spray all 4 bottles at once? Not sure if I should wait 60 mins half way through. Unsure if a “coat” is a covering of the bed or they mean a full kit. Thanks
Watching your videos has given me the drive to start upgrading my 09 Silverado! I have a 3.5 lift kit at home waiting for a buddy to get back in town to put it on! I also have a sick off-road bumper and winch coming on Tuesday that’s also going on! Can’t wait! Ohh yeah and definitely gotta do this diy on my bed!!!
Love it!
what grit sandpaper do you use? do you need to spray an adhesion promoter after sanding? obviously you need to clean off the dust, right? how can you make it not so glossy?
im planning to spray my whole car with raptor liner. this will be my first time and I hope it'll look as good as your truck bed.
Being you've used and see how well this spray holds up. Do you think it would work well on the roof of a small popup camper.
As long os the surface is prepped correctly, I don't see why not! Still looks great months later after several loads of dirt 👍🏽
Nice channel. All vids are very well done. Keep up the good work, Buddy.
Good job! Looks really good. I bought my 2022 Silverado 1500 LT, if i want to do this, do i still have to sand the paint even tho its a new truck? Shout out to you from Seattle.
That looks amazing! I’m gonna give it a go!
Right on! BEWARE the overspray lol. Took forever to scrub off the floors.
It looks alright, and would be fine on an older truck, or one you're not going to abuse too much. I wonder about the longevity of it, a LOT of the DIY spray liners tend to fade really bad after about a year. I had a '15 Chevy 1500 that I had sprayed with LineX and when I traded it almost 4 years later it still looked new after a fair amount of abuse. Had my new truck sprayed about 2 weeks after I bought it.
This was a great video. Thanks for sharing..
I want to install a couple of new emblems/badges over the raptor liner. Have you done this in the past? If so, what would be the best adhesive to use?
Very nicely done. But one of the things that seems to be missed in these DIY bed liner videos is the amount of time it takes. That is worth $$. I have no problem with DIY, at all. But the time it takes is part of the cost for the commercial products that is ignored.
Came out great!!! So do tour neighbors love or hate ya!?!? Lol! Start both the the 2007&2020 up at the same time! The 07 body looks still brand new!! So cool!! 💯👊
Not yet... but they haven't seen the car that I'm trying to add to the garage yet... we'll see!
May I ask what type of air compressor you used? I have a 6 gallon, no sure if it’s ok
Wonder how this would turn out doing the frame as well?
How did you get it to spray so thin? When i used raptor liner on my truck it came out with thicker chunks.
Hey I got the same truck an wanna do the rocker panels but the previous owner has already sprayed them with a liner like material maybe even line x. Do you think I should get it down to bare metal or can I scuff it up an spray over it?
I'm not completely caught up with your vids and I'm just skipping around but if you haven't already, 100% need to buy a slow release kit for the tailgate. They're like $20 and you'll never want to go back
Have you thought about adding the tailgate assist to the OG? I did it to my 09 Silverado and I love it. Its on Amazon for $27
Highly recommend this...did it on my ford.
My truck supposedly has this how do I find out if it does? Does it ever wear out?
@@bigwick7626 if you open the tailgate and it slams down or you have to let it down it does not have one. I've had it for 3yrs and still works perfect.
@@andrewlivingston9058 you’re right, I have the easy lift. Did you get the deezee tailgate assist on amazon? for 27.20?
@@bigwick7626 thats the one
It looks like who ever had your truck before you either had pullout bed drawers or a water/air tank frame bolted to the bed. My water tank with sprayer is about the same dimensions.
Well observed sir. That's probably it!
Thanks for the video Amazing job bro about to do mine 🙌🏼
How r the led lights headlights working and whats the name brand....did alot of research and alot of negative reviews on amazon about them?
Nice job! You are the neighbor I always wished for! Lol
That looks sick!! I did mine by bullet liner. And yours look way better and for cheaper. Always amazing videos and content. 🤟🏼
Is your garage slippery when wet? What kind of coating did you use for the garage floor? Nice job on the bed liner
Man that looks really good for the price! Have you ever thought of putting fog light caps on the front bumper even though I know your headlights do the job?
Looks good. Kudos to you to have the tools, time and patience. I’d just pay someone 4-500 dollars😂
Exactly, more than just buying the kit. Average Joe will not own a sprayer. With that said, I have a 90 F250 that has had a plastic drop on for about 25 years and looking at options
Has anyone tried to get a thicker coating on a 6.5 inch bed? Im wondering if i put on 6 or 8 liters instead of 4 it would make a thicker liner or if its bad to do that? Any thoughts?
Al's bedliner is by far superior to any of those bedliner that harden. Its literally solid rubber. It never gets hard and chips off. It's only 100 per kit and has been proven and tested to be better than even products like rino liner.
Definitely not rubber and it hardens just as hard as linex or similar and it can chip if hit hard enough too (i have a chip on my hood edgeI Raptor’d the entire body of my 07 tahoe two years ago and she’s still holding strong for the most part. Even did body color so I didn’t have to worry about jambs, hell, it’s even got the factory metalics in the coating too.
Can’t wait to do my bed liner! Great video, it came out clean👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I got a question. So I bought the bed liner that you add the color it (white) if I don’t use the white will it just be black ? Or what would it do ?
Nice job braddah!
Props great work! However, I think 80 grit is a little aggressive to prep the surface...
80 still to soft next time I’ll used a lil bit more aggressive
I wonder if a cheap sand blaster would get the same results but faster.
Hey not sure if you check your messages frequently or not - but do you feel that this kit was enough? They make a 8 quart kit I am considering.
Nice vid. I am curious to see how durable the raptor liner is I know it’s like one of the best DIY bedliners but after all it is thin and sprayed on, and I wanna know what you’d think of steel front/real bumpers paint matched on the 07 I think that would look SIIIIIIIIIICK let me know what you think
How do you set the compressor? What kind of compressor do you need?
Excellent D.I.Y. I think you sold me on the product, nice job👍
Plan to do the roof of my jeep, thanks for the video. I'm sold on it now 👍
NICELY DONE!!
Updates on the third vehicle? Absolutely look forward to your videos every week man!
The search continues... COVID price spike is finally starting to come down.
What kind of air compressor did you use ?
raptor bed liner is pretty good stuff i have it on my youtube channel as well on a ram i load it with fire wood and all sorts of stuff it holds up to most of it
Can you put a 5th wheel hitch over it with out cracking it or having the bolts shaking loose??
I have a brand new 2022 truck. Do I need to sand it before I would try this?
One question, why didn't you remove the tie-down covers before spraying the bed liner? If you had, you could have replaced those covers once the bed liner cured and been able to use those areas to add additional tie downs in the future if you wanted/needed. Since you didn't remove them, they are now sprayed in permanently. I'm just curious if you thought about that before hand.
I appreciate the music!
Looks great but I would have pulled the the plastic oval covers at the top of the bed. For people who need to tie down a lot they make mounts that go in there that are awesome.
Do you recommend spraying two kits?
Can you spray a second coat on top of it to make it thicker?
Get an electric leaf blower that runs off your power tool batteries to blow out the garage. I bought one to just blow out the garage and it’s perfect for it!
awesome video Bro! can't wait to do it on mine
I have watched many reviews of this Raptor Liner stuff and this video is by far the best. #Texas
How does this guy know how to do all his mods like a pro good work wish I had that talent.
Made lots of mistakes before I started filming 😂.
Big bless braddah
How long do you wait in between coats? Or do you just do it bottle after bottle ?
Looks awesome bro 👍🏼
