If you ask me; part of the reason Angron dropped down to Istvaan III was because he was hoping Horus would go 'fuck it' and virus bomb the planet with him on it. To be fair, he pretty much always does things that are wise (with a few exceptions like fighting Corvus Corax even though Chaos Gods told him NOT to do that). If we really think about it, he is the only one out of all the Primarchs who has actually achieved the vast majority of his goals during the Horus Heresy. And he's doing pretty solid in 40k too. His Legion is one of the few that actually retained it's discipline, structure and coherence. He probably has the second most powerful Chaos force in the Galaxy right after Abaddon with his Black Legion (where most of the Chaos Astartes go). And he's continuing his work, slowly converting more and more planets to the worship of the Four for nearly 10000 years now. Lorgar is extremely wise. And he's winning.

Black Library tends to have the primarchs, especially the traitors, be virtually Shakespearean in their voices, which only occasionally drops to a more grounded tone. I think it works for Lorgar here more than Angron. Perhaps dropping the face of the preacher for a few moments while seriously confronting his brother. So yeah. Would love to see more of these from you. Full blown primarch excerpts are surprisingly rare on RUclips. Maybe Fulgrim, Corax, or Alpharius perhaps?

Bruh, Russ could have killed him at any time in their fight. It wouldn't have been easy, but Russ had dozens of chances to kill Angron. And yeah the World Eaters surrounded the Space Wolves, but Russ like any primarch in that scenario would have just fought his way out with only mild difficulty. Without their Primarch the World Eaters would have been annihilated. Not a clean win mind you, but Russ won the fight just by showing up.

Yes, he hates using his powers, but he still did like on Propspero to nullify certain skills and abilities such as the Lion's senses. With Magnus, Leman would have still won their duel regardless of the Custodes or Sisters or even their legions' involvement. Yes, Magnus weakened the response to the Space Wolves, but do note that the forces Russ arrived with were never meant to kill him. His original orders were to take him in. Regardless, Russ' own psyker abilities are seemingly themed to nullify Primarch/Psyker abilities as seen across the Burning of Prospero should he have used them more, it's likely Magnus would have stood no chance anyways. Finally, just because Horus is indeed overrated doesn't mean he's any less powerful. Russ beat a Chaos ascended Horus 1v1, knowing that his sheer skill and, more importantly, the Spear would take him out faster than Horus could. He's faster, stronger, smarter, and far more durable than Angron ever was or would be. Hell, Russ would just feel sorry for him because there's little glory in putting a sick animal out of its misery.
