honestly the whole 'variety in the games in damaged by decompression' is such bs, the compressed BRs make so many planes pointless to play that everyone plays the best stuff, same for tanks
They keep the Br compressed to frustrate the player base and push us to buy premium vehicles to grind quicker.

I think bringing back some BR hard limits would be worth investigating. The most fun I ever had was back when they were in place.

@@tachankax4205 basically there was a hard limit on BR you could face, as long as you were at/below 9.7, you couldn't face anything of a higher br.

@@tachankax4205 there was also one at 7.3 so early jets would either face super props that climbed better or other early jets with similar speed. It was truly a golden age for WT imo
They need to add more population at these Gen 1, 2 jets and just separate Gen 3 entirely from fighting Gen 2's

You mentioned the b1 ter, and how it stomps 1.7s. True, but it also is entirely useless at any BR above 2.7, which it happens to see far more often.
I remember when the BR lock was in place at 10.0 and the only real threat was the Hunter FGA.9, then the 104 was added, then the Lightning replaced the 104.
it wont work as well as the past since it will dominate again at that br range being 10.0 not seeing anything higher
I like the current br just that some planes should be move lower like the F86s not one of them should be anything higher than 9.0 cuz fighting phantoms with that thing sucks

Been facing F-14's exclusively for two days now.
I don't understand why people complain about the F14. It's the top-line aircraft for the US tech tree which is incredibly potent and meta-defining, everybody would want it. There's a difference between that and when the matchmaker is cluttered by idiots in A10s who have no idea what they're doing, as well as flying a plane that can be countered pretty easily.
Add back the 9.7 hard limit, and put both the Su-25s and A-10s at 10.0
I think with the whole que time thing they could simply solve that by allowing what the current BR spread is to occur during low activity times. So for example, if you are a 9.0 vehicle, during peak time in whatever server you're in, you can go up/down by only .3 or .7, ( or if a new system has different numbers by similar increments) but during lower player count times of the day, you can go up/down by a whole BR level.
This will also help reduce pressure brought on by when new vehicles are added to the game, such as when the puma was added, all vehicles at 7.0 getting swept up to the puma's BR. When a new update drops There will be a lot more players playing, and if you restrict for up or down you can go, you can prevent people getting seal clubbed by not 100% balanced new vehicles.

I think a BR brake coud make more sense then decompression for example make vehicles at 9.3 not uptierable so basically they are top line while that brings a hole new list of problems with it is probably easier to balance because you coud (for example) separate subsonic from supersonic aircraft that els see each other almost every match (Sabers and T-2s for example).

@@zitrone2250 There was essentially a hard cap on BR at 9.7 for air RB. You wouldn't get uptiered to BR 10.0+ at all if your vehicle was in the 9.0-9.7 range.

There is nothing more frustrating than leaving your higher BR jet(Harrier) out of your arcade lineup trying to lower the BR, then having to fight the opposition’s Harrier’s with your Scimitar, Swift and Venom. At 8.7, 9.0, 9.3 I am always uptiered. I will always face F-5, Harrier and now A-10. Getting shot in the face with all aspect sidewinders in my gen 2 jet is ridiculous. It is ruining the game. If I use my F-5 or Harrier I will face Phantoms and MiG -23s. I researched the F-105 when it was 9.7. Now it’s 10.7 and unusable because it’s got no flares. It’s a hangar queen. Thanks for the opportunity to vent. P-26s when I get home today, low tier = fun tier.

I know you don't care for us Arcade scrublords but the there is a Ki-84 at 7.7 and a Mig-21 at 8.7 So a 1945 piston engined Japanese desperation bomber interceptor can face a Mach-2 jet LMAOp
BR 1 - 3 are good for arcade above that is pure gay using arcade in high tier BR
A2D is even at 9.0 back then, i don't know how about now, top tier air arcade is a joke
I have seen a harrier in person, and I will tell you that it’s acceleration is way faster than you would think.
Anything vtol literally has to be. It has to be designed to produce huge amounts of thrust at low speeds
I've never understood this argument of que times been so long if they decompress BR's. If they were to decompress BR's they would see an increase in people playing current dead content and filling up those que's. like wanna grind out your first meteor jet??? well get shit on by Mig 9's at 8.3.
As for the variety issue, have they played there own dam game??? everyone wants to play the new shiny shiny or the most OP machines possible because anything less is a handycap. I mean hell who thought putting a subsonic British Hunter F6 at Br 10.3 was a good idea??? Because subsonics should really be fighting all the new shiny top Tier 11.3's 9/10 times 0.o

I absolutely hated playing the mig17, because it was at a high enough br to face against planes with afterburners, and knowing the fact that the major production of the mig17 had an afterburner, and they just added the one without it in game. The problem becomes even more serious if you play in afghanistan. Due to it's height, even planes usually slower than the mig17 would become faster because they have an afterburner, and if that plane has missiles, you are practically daed.
I had a game in Simulator battles, where I was facing some swedish planes with an afterburner and missiles, and I couldn't catch them, because of their afterburner, and when I turned around, they would start chasing me and missile me. They would never engage in a dogfight.
Nah mate i play mig17 (premium version but its same) and it is so good. Yes if u get 10.0 u get fucked but if u play smart u can get some kills becouse mig17 is good in dogfights. U can kill ai at least so i dont think mig 17 is bad but its pretty hard to learn and there are jets way worse than mig17 on 9.0.

The MiG-15BiS can go toe to toe with an F-5 so it can do so as well with the Lim5P, also the J29F, it doesn't turn but it can do things so yeah
So why not make mig 17 8.7? ASLO why not restrict the BR range to 0.7 instead of 1.0 for air only

Honestly the "B1 ter" is already unplayable only on 3.0, and even has issues on its new, own 2.7 BR. When people ask: "Is it a good starter premium tank?" I must say that NOT any more; its almost useless now. And we see the same pointless nerf in other heavy tanks as well, like the M6, KV-1, Maus ... ect. Like if GAYjin forgot what the concept of a heavy tank is! Yes it supposed to be hard to kill! (not to mention the long 75mm panzers are now on 3.3 and 3.7, where even its armor can work)
And i don't know about your games, but when i play 9.0, I 95% end up on the next meta 9.7 BR instead of the lower 8.7, and if its a 10.0 i bail immediately, so I'd say even the "Shenyang F-5" should not be 9.3! (and what G.91 YS?)
don't forget the CL 14 mk 6 is at 9.7 lmao
remember any fighter plane in the right hands is going to make a mess in the game and that's not why it's broken. in my opinion the lim 5p looks good in 9.0 for 2 reasons, the first because it competes against the shenyang F5 and 17AS in terms of performance and the second because it doesn't have missiles like the shenyang F5 and 17AS

@@TransportSupremo 17AS is better than the normal 17, 17AS in terms of armament is better than the lim 5p, the shenyang f-5 is better than the 17AS in performance and lim 5p in terms of armament.
Lim-5P is my fav jet atm
I honestly believe premiums are the only guilty vehicles of balance issues. Spammed vehicles that do poorly will anchor every single vehicle around them regardless if they're capable or not
As much as RUclipsrs put out these rants and talks about BR compression, Gaijin has not and likely will never fix it. They are focused on making money and player experience comes second. (Seems like it comes 10th actually) It’s just unfortunate that they do not have much competition out there in an all-encompassing game like this.
PLEASE use the new boosters on the Lim-5P. i hate it when people say "disable new boosters" becasue nre boosters sgnificantly decrease rudder lock-up and sometimes give a good boost to roll rate.
the MiG-17 airframe is pretty much immune to ripping wings. pleaee enable new boosters.
yeah the wings are indestructible but the fucking rudder sometimes simply refuses to work above like 900 kph
@@ijnisus6273 thats EXACTLY why you should use new boosters. that modification extends yhe working range of your rudders so you dont lock up nearly as fast.
im able to not rip my wings in other aircraft (like the skyhawk for example) by making sure i slow down before i turn. what rips wings is high G turns at fast speeds. if you are around 600-700km/h you cant rip with positive G alone.
The Lim-5P is very very similar to the Shenyang F-5 and honestly they should both be at the same BR, despite slight differences in armament they perform very similarly
Want to play this cause I just got it, but so far 6 games all 6 I was shot down by either rockets or friendly fire. No flares or air to air middles against other vehicles that do, I’m not liking it so far

Imo a very simple fix would be to make it so you can jump only .3 up or down. That is still plenty and it prevents edge cases like mig-15 and mig-21 in the same game which is retarded.

I think war thunder should enable the player to combine vehicles and aircraft of every tech tree in a single lineup. That way queue time will be reduced significantly and the BR gap could be Spread further.
Thats a very bad idea. The fun of the game is making lineups according to the tt you are playing. Imagine if someone coul bring a tiger, an IS 2, a jumbo and a good CAS plane to the same match.
Or worse, make a full 8.0-9.3 lineup with light vehicles which are really good at those brs (tam+rooikat+bmp2m+the chinese lights...) just NO
Not mixed, but allow pet Alliance, i.e. you can combine Italian and German aircraft that have a mark for axis aircraft in their stat card. Or NATO vehicles from Germany, USA, GB, Italy etc.
That way you can return to a better, now realistic matchmaker, while widening the ability for lineups and also additionally make it possible to have individual nation tech trees, without the need to do major copy-paste and holes can be filled with vehicles from allied nations.

Let's be clear, none of the reasons Gaijin have given for not dealing with compression stand up to much scrutiny. I'm certain almost all players would prefer to reduce the BR range from 1.0 to 0.7 for example if it means 4 less players in each match for the same queue time, or a slightly longer queue time for the same number of players. The reality is that the business model of war thunder is still based on suffering, and compression leads to suffering which leads to money (buying research, premium time or premium vehicles) so decompression will not be a priority. I think gaijin actually have a good product and could monetise it in new ways more effectively, but there is no sign of that changing any time soon unfortunately
Simply make the BR bracket user adjustable from + - 0.3 to 1.3 put a warning up that changing the setting will may increase the wait time.
Also get rid of the stupid maximum of 4 vehicles of the top br per match and change it to balanced team mean BR so you can have full teams of 9.0 vs 9.0, that would also get rid of the virtual 12.3 BR Air.
With the current change especially on AirRB why dont gaijin put some modification, i mean if german can get afterburning mig-17 with radar which is mig-17PF, why dont gaijin put modification for mig-17 to be at least Mig-17F so it is the same mig-17 but with afterburner. That will be more fair to Mig-17 because afterburner matter. Of just add mig17PF to mig17 as a folder

In a 1v1 duel the mig 17 1 turn kills the Lim 5p. It is lighter and more maneuverable. I disagree that its bad at 9.0. Decompression is absolutely needed though
I mean, the Lim-5P can just dictate the fight because of the afterburner. Same issue with the F2 sabre, the plane itself is fine but it fights 10.0s where it doesn't stand a chance.

@@TransportSupremo Maneuverability is always good, but I doubt the Lim-5P is lacking in that regard. At some point it stops being a positive, as they're both capable of dodging missiles and avoiding head-ons. The Lim just happens to have an afterburner and better armament, meaning it'll do better in an uptier.
@@davidboy45 maneuverability never stops being a positive. The Ariete absolutely annihilates everything in a dog fight. Making it a great plane even at 9.3

feels like self forfilling profecy for me couse most of all my jets are around 8.0 too 9.7 and i dont play them i play my tanks couse its realy fucking difficult too play my jets when you constantly get upp tierd too much much better opponents that can shoot me down befor i even have time to react

As someone who has been playing allied aircraft in the 8.7 region, the allied teams are performing poorly most likely because all the more experienced players are gunning for the f14 while little timmy who bought the f-35 or a4e are going against 9.0-9.7 axis jets
