I got my shiny Giratina! Here are a couple notes:
* On 3DS, don't start the game with Stage 1. Start the game BEFORE stage 1, then soft-reset with stage one. The 3DS's load times are too inconsistent for Eon Timer, but once you get into DS mode, it's consistent.
* You don't have to change the year if you can just find a different seed for your shiny that is even.

Thank you so much for all of these videos, Ive only recently found your channel and at this point I have only been rng abusing emerald but all of your content is so helpful! I grew up with gen 4 and wanted to RNG abuse as a kid so much but never could seem to pull it off so I gave up but recently I wanted to play through emerald again to set up for a ribbon master challenge. Afer soft resetting a roaming latios for a while just for a good nature and getting things like adamant constantly I went fuck it and wanted to go all in on RNG abuse to just make it happen already. I ended up restarting the save file for a shiny starter RNG to get my secret ID as well but since then I have RNG'd all of the legendaries, a beldum, and 3 different bred pokemon to be shiny with good stats. Your videos seem to have been the guides that have finally allowed me to pull all of these manips myself.

I've been a full odds hunter for years but man does RNG manip feel so satisfying and empowering. I still enjoy the chill full odds hunts but this is so much better for actually playing the game with cool mons. Thanks so much for making this content, it got me through emerald and now Platinum!
Thank you!! it worked! And if you are like me and wanted to hunt shiny shaymin in diamond that works just as well, when you use pokefinder 4.1.2 shaymin wont be under event pokemon in diamond but you can just check platinum as the game you play and the rng will work the same.

Jokes aside, this kind of game manipulation is super cool. I love how easy you make this to understand and watching you get the target and even keeping in any adjustments you make is really neat to watch. Kind of makes me want to get into RNG Maniping some shinies so I can end my 600k hunt for a shiny Eevee in my Platinum :')
Will you be making a new DPPt guide for wild encounters too? I saw you had one from 2016 but the tool seems a bit outdated. I tried following it using PokeFinder instead of RNG Reporter but wasn't having much luck. I'd love if you consider it since Gen 4 is my favorite generation and I really wanna learn how to RNG it. I will try to follow this video too but unsure if I have any static encounters left to try haha Also, does the Journal advance the RNG any further? It opens for me every time and there's no way to stop it to my knowledge.

It would be helpful to include a list of things that cause rng to advance. I know nothing a out gen4 rng, but it seems like it doesn't advance based on time?
Moving NPC’s mostly, even offscreen. Distortion world does, making phone calls, chatot recorded chatters, pretty sure your character moving does as well.

Are you going to do a RNG guide for starters in BW2? I've heard that BW2 is really difficult for RNG cause of the npc's or smth. Also does using the 3DS make this harder?
You probably already know this but if for some reason untill now you don’t, he was using a 3ds in the video not an emulator
Blissey has guides on it already. BW is easier than BW2 because of Timer0 consistency. Also, DS / DS Lites are more consistent that 3DS, but you can rng on 3DS just fine.

Would you be able to do a video where you start a new file and obtain the things you need to do this? Like new file, show what progression in game is needed, show what other apps are used, and then this can be used to show the different methods of hunting like wild, egg, static and roaming.

Can you explain how to tell what the pitch of the chatot is? It does not sound all that different to me. Also when you change the year for the even or odd delay - is that just in Pokefinder, or do you have to reset the game and try again with eon timer?

If I use a seed where the advancement is 0, can I just confirm the seed with the coin flip & start the encounter?
I still cant get one, i have been on this for an entire day and im unable to either time it right or something, im on new 2ds or 3ds and i have to advance a couple hundred frames but idk how to advance the frames coz i dont know what frame im on

How do Synchronize leads affect the RNG? I'm able to generate my seed consistently and read my chatot pitch just fine, but have no idea whether my Synchronizer spread only works 50% of the time for each encounter with the Jolly Azelf in Valor Cavern. I'm being sure to only be a single spread away from my target as you'd described before starting the battle, as well as using a Jolly Synchronizer, but still keep landing on the frame after my target (the spread I get can only be found in the none results for my chosen lead). Am I goofing something here or have I just been unlucky trying to proc the 50%?
(at first I'd used a cute charm lead but then stopped because I had a feeling it couldn't help force a spread on a genderless pokemon)

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong: i hit my target delay, i advance to the correct frames with the chatots but I just don’t get it. I’m going for a shiny Palkia with perfect IVs on my copy of pearl, using a male cute charm lead (got the SID following your guides btw, thanks for your huge help), what could it be?
im 2 months late to this but if you are still curious its prob because you have a cute charm lead. palkia is genderless so it doesnt work on it. so you were prob going after a frame that not a shiny for genderless pokes

Would this work on the arceus in the hall of origin? I'm trying to do it right now, been trying for the past hour or so actually. I can't seem to hit my seed or verify it really. whenever I've done it so far I get something nonsensically far from what i was calibrated for, my ds does odd delays and it tells me occasionally that i hit an even delay even when i don't have a gba inserted. Platinum seems to a be bit more frustrating with the rng than does HGSS where i found it to be absurdly easy.
Edit: I've been at it for about 2 hours. I'm not getting even close to my target delay apparently. My last close attempt had me at more than 100 delay away according to the coin flips. Any thoughts on what might be happening?

holy jesus, finally. I finally did it. After staying up for hours last night i did it on my second try this morning. I used a different seed and i finally hit it using my ds phat. So happy i stayed persistent

I am doing Giratina on Platinum, hit the frame and delay, and the nature and IVs all matched up, except that it wasn’t shiny. Am I missing something?
This video is not for shiny, only IV's.
Shame PokeFinder doesn't support event legendaries like the azure flute arceus in dp, for some reason only manaphy shows for DP, and I'm using plat for a playthrough atm
I always land on the delay before the target delay.
I landed on the exact delay on the exact advance and i checked my tid and sid and the dialga was not shiny

I wish there were RNG methods for gen2, but from what I researched, it is whack.
I wanna get into competitive pokemon at some point but RNG stuff like this kinda drives me away from it. I understand why people hack their pokemon in now, however if you wanna use your team instantly, why not just use pokemon showdown to test your team out in the format you wanna play first and THEN grind to get your team?? Better than finding out your team sucks the hard way and having to start over from scratch.
Anyways I'm currently trying to Perfect IV some egg pokemon for the Emerald Battle Frontier. RNG is kinda screwing me right now.
Try breeding in FR/LG or Sapphire/Ruby. Emerald eggs hatch quicker with the addition of Flame Body/Magma Armor, but they screwed up how stats are passed down in Emerald. It's much easier in FR/LG/Sapphire/Ruby since you are nearly guaranteed to get at least 3 IV's from the parents. That means that you can keep swapping each parent with hatched pokemon for better stats more efficiently until you get 5 or 6 perfect IV Pokemon.
Emerald makes it to where the stats passed down can overlap so many times the eggs may only get 1 or 2 IV's from the parents.
@@ruxsack4021 so i can hatch a whole box full of eggs, trade them to fire red, have them be the new parents, and rinse and repeat until I have a perfect 6IV pokemon?

If you have some Pokemon in Emerald with 1 or more 31 IV stats then trade them to Fire Red and breed them in that game. It doesn't matter where the Pokemon come from, but you do want to make sure that you are breeding in Fire Red.
Breeding for perfectly maxed out pokemon is a bit daunting in older gens. I do remember gen6 and possibly 5 made it much easier tho. The gens before these, although better games imo, are more difficult to make perfect stat pokemon
