This took me such a long time to do. but after I got rid of the zapdos that I have roaming on my map, I got it after my first try. Unsure if this affected it or not but I loving my new shiny Shaymin. Easy to use guide and you were so helpful with each step.
I believe the roamers can advance rng so yeah getting rid of that probably made it easier/more consistent. Enjoy the shiny!

No as long as they are custom recorded you are good. They play at different pitches when they are custom recorded and that advances rng

I don’t have a computer can I rng manipulate a shiny starter chimchar in platinum without a computer b/c I failed a shiny chimchar last night when a event regigigas saved over it when I used action replay and I want to use rng to get it back so how do I do it without a computer
Great tutorial, ive tried 3 different seeds for shinies and hit all of them and did the chatot advances but none of them were shiny, any help would be appreciated (the discord link is down)
You should be able to catch the pokemon you land on and find it in the list in pokefinder. From there just add or subtract chatot flips by looking at how early or late you were. A lot of maps have initial advances that happen when the world loads (or if there is NPCs that can mess things up too). My guess is there is initial advances you are not accounting for so you will probably land on a pokemon later than the one you want, if that is the case just subtract the extra chatot advances out and try again
I soft reset for my shiny Giratina last year, I'm currently hunting for Dialga. After a few days of no luck, I think it's time I too do some rng manipulation. Which rng manipulation is easier, Platinum/Diamond/Pearl or Emerald (I started off with Emerald first, just not sure how different it is from Gen 4)?
I personally think emerald is easier. The timing is harder, but the process is quicker and easier. But also the pool of pokemon you have to choose from is smaller. DPP rng is a bit more to learn. But once you do its very easy and you can get nearly any pokemon you want
Hey, basically im doing this on 3ds, using a plat rom because i dont have the actual cartridge, im doing everything the exact same thing as you said but in a different way, and since my platinum rom loads up longer it messes up eon timer so i have to make second timer longer and all that. Do i have to change the calibrated delay to 576 or 600 for the shiny? Because i do not have a ds.
You are just going to have to search for the pokemon that you catch and calibrate from there
I hit my seed in the past, But i have a question, is the counting advances another way to use instead of using chatot pitches? And is this basically an easier version of it

@@justyourownnormalanimator521 you need to do something to advance the rng. Tons of things do it, npcs rotating, chatot cries, tons of stuff. The easiest to control is chatot though
So I‘ve hit the correct seed a few times but my chatot cries don‘t produce the same pitch that pokefinder gives me and I get lost, is there any easy way to find your spot or know at which advancement to start at?
Honestly I just do a reset, land on the right seed, and do the exact number of chatot rolls the advance is, then find out how many rng advances I missed by and subtracting that number
So how would this work with finding shiny starters? I'm not trying to use the Cute Charm glitch but am starting a new file. I got my trainer and secret id already but have no coin flips.
Tbh this would be tough. Im not sure the best way to verify the seed you hit without the coin flips. But youd have to do that. Verify the seed, then advance the rng to the point you need. I think saving might advance rng (not 100% sure). You might need to do your method then encounter a starter and check all surrounding seeds for that starter. Honestly sounds really involved

i dont know what im doing wrong, but ive followed step by step, and no matter how many tries, the custom chatter pitches never match up, and when i do the right amount of advances, its still not shiny
You should be able to find in pokefinder the pokemon you spawned. From there you just add or subtract how many advances you were off by

I did it myself. Absolutely
no matter how much i update my eon timer i keep hitting the same delay, two away from my target, both my target and what i am hitting are even numbers
So your coin flips are all off and youre getting the delay 2 in front or two behind your target? If this is the case stop updating the eon timer. Do it 2 or 3 times in a row. Keep track of which delay you land on the most often. Then update your eon timer with that delay. I find if i update my eon timer every time i start being inconsistent, give it a couple attempts to find out where your landing and calibrate from there

That is the easiest way to advance frames in a controlled manor. I believe there are other ways to do it but chatot is the most popular
