Damn! It's a You Tubers convention! Glad to see Bandit again, miss his videos. How did you guys get together? Also like that combine trailer. Wonder where they scrounged that one up. Looks like a good 8900, but go over it good before you put it in the field, we don't want another crispy critter! Funny you should mention the alternator, that was the source of the engine fire I had on mine years back. Either the wires shorted out or the alternator itself. Set the engine compartment on fire. I just pulled up to the truck to unload and looked in the mirror, all I saw was flames blowing out from the engine compartment! I just caught it in time and the little fire extinguisher I had with me saved it! That and the advice I got from a IHC combine clinic I attended years back. He told us to never shut off the motor if it's on fire. The fan's out put keeps the flames directed, it gives you time to either get off the road, dump the grain from the tank on the ground and even try to put it out! Once the fan stops, it's over! As the fire will instantly spread every where! And the grain on board also feeds the blaze once it spreads that far. I never shut it off and put the extinguisher's spray under the hood next to the fan and hit it twice and out it went! Took a broom to the area and continued for the rest of the field that night. Next day we replaced some charred hydraulic lines and the Alternator and wires, and oil filters as they had the paint burned off and likely the source of the oil seep that fueled the fire. I'm rooting for you guys, be safe!
