This is an absolutely spot on parody of upper class values and ignorance. The speech patterns are so accurate.

Your observations are spot-on. In the 1930s the upper classes had little knowledge or interest in the working people. It's a great comedy sketch that reflects the attitudes of the time. I know the Aristocracy who were in charge of the Empire were not very sympathetic to the natives of those countries, but they weren't sympathetic to us poor Brits either. It's good to make fun of them and their prejudices. Thank you.

He did great parodies of these old "self-improvement" films. Conjugal Rights, Women know your limits, Women don't drive, Women keep your virtue...

I recommend watching the Harry Enfield sketch called 'Women, know your limits'.
The sketch pokes fun at the male attitude towards women in yesteryear's Britain.

The name is pronounced, 'Chomley-Warner.' An obvious parody of what was depicted in the 1930's of how working class people were portrayed.

Britain was big on the map as joke. But it is geographically the centre of the earth in reality. But I've always wondered why the African continent is small on the map in comparison to America, because the African continent is 3 times the size of America including Alaska & Hawaii. I've a feeling it's not an accident that they do it & it's to undermine Africa.

I order to fully appreciate this comedy, you need to understand that it's an exaggeration to the point of ridiculousness of attitudes and stereotypes of class that really did exist in Britain not very long ago. Nobody would talk like this today seriously, but in the 1990s, when I believe this programme was made, that world was still sufficiently recent for people to understand and appreciate the humour, whereas now, in the 2020s, I suspect quite a lot of younger British people just wouldn't get it any more.
