What I find odd about this fight compared to nearly every other fight in Bleach, is this is entire from Starrk's point of view. You don't hear Kyoraku's internal thoughts, you don't know what he's thinking. The anime treats Starrk like the protagonist, and Kyoraku as the villain to the point where you're pulling for Starrk.
Agreed, honestly think this plays extra sad since if given the chance to harmonize I think stark might have been happy to exist around those he fought, loneliness is a gut rencher for me so I kept hoping they could just seal him or capture, he would have been a great ally, thats war or battle but does not change the loss of potential and the existence of those who are lost
Starks aspect of death was Loneliness. A hollows power seems to stem from the size of the hole on their hearts. And, barring Ulquiorras nilihsim, Starks loneliness is perhaps the greatest 'hollowness' you can feel. The beauty of Stark as a character is that he is immensely powerful, but the very source of his power is the reason he never fully utilizes it. He just doesn't care. He's depressed. I don't think we ever saw Stark really 'try' in his battle. And when Lillinette died, I believe that's when Stark dedicated himself to death as well. I believe it's also because of this loneliness that Aizen seemed to respect Stark more so than the other espada. Because Aizen was also lonely. But unlike Stark, Aizen is not a hollow. Rather than loneliness, Aizens aspect of death was Solitude. To be lonely but to still have the resolve to carry on. That's what Stark lacked. Resolve.
You know it's still pissing off how he just died. For 1 he was not hostile and they knew this too that is why they took there time. 2 all he wanted was a friend. 3 there was a comedy skit right in the middle of fighting. 4 he was the coolest one by being the only one in the anime with guns. Last 5 at the end he wasn't even focused on the fight worrying about his partner, WORRYING! His death was more of a tragedy than a "good guy win bad guy lose" I mean am i the only one?
+lazy gizmo Yes, it was tragic how he died. Of course, Stark represents "loneliness" as a cause of death (all 10 Espada represent different causes of death according to the story), so it's actually somewhat fitting for an Espada like him. Just think how OP he would be if he wasn't giving in to that feeling. He fought 4 captain-level Soul Reapers and Visoreds and held his own almost effortlessly - while in a state of loneliness. At max power, he could probably solo everyone except Yamamoto and maybe Shinji.
Stark had the most unfair fight. He didn't want to fight anyone strong, instead he ended up fighting two captains and two vizards who were once captains. Saw long Primera Espada
Funny thing about the fight: Kyoraku didn't get serious vs. Stark until late in the fight, either. But IMO, Halibel's fight was also unfair. She fought 2 visoreds and a captain, then Aizen stabbed her in the back just as a WTF ending.
cameraREDeye With the entire fight results i wonder if the Vizors were even needed. Kenpachi and Byakuya took out Yami without trying, Kenpachi wasn't trying too hard against Nnoitra, Byakuya only struggled because Zommari had a Rukia meat shield, and Mayuri was just toying with Szayel. It's like most of these fights were sort of mismatched.
0DarkEagle Hachigen was definitely needed against Barragan (Espada No. 2) since his original opponents were Soifon and Omaeda, neither of which were a match for him at all. Not even close. That kido from Hachigen along with a bada$$ strategy were what took Barragan down. Since Barragan had that "death aura" surrounding him after he went Resurreccion Mode, physical attacks were completely out of the question, as if they weren't already against his base form (in which he merely "aged" anything attacking him). And neither Soifon nor Omaeda had any kido that could do ANY real damage to Barragan in the first place since his Reiatsu was greater than theirs. (Soifon does have Shunko up her sleeve, but it's a partial physical attack which, as I said already, is useless vs. Barragan.) And Love and Rose were (somewhat) needed against Stark (Espada No. 1) since Kyoraku and Ukitake, his original opponents, both got cheapshotted by him and (I think) Wonderweiss. They bought enough time for Kyoraku to recover, turn around, and cheapshot Stark with his "shadow tag" game. After that, Kyoraku had little trouble beating him with those Shikai shadow games.
cameraREDeye His Shadow Game match made things uncomfortable for a lot of people but against Barragan, well there were other people who knew Kido, if not then Yamamoto would have stepped in and ended the guy. Actually with Bankai Yamamoto would be all there needs against the Espada, all the others have to do is take out Wonderweiss. Or not, hell his bankai comes with it's own army
@@HORRIOR1 We never really saw Starrk using his full power even in his first release, if you really think that his power and Shunsui aren't on par with each other you are just dumb. I agree that with Bankai Kyouraku would kill Starrk, however, we will never know how powerfull Starrk really was since we never saw his true strenght. C'mon, Starrk was so powerfull that everything that got close to him died and it kept happening until he learned how to control his power, he wasn't the First Espada just for show, he was the strongest of them and handled 4 Capitains single handed, including 2 Vizard and 2 that where almost on the same level as Yamamoto. He was a beast and if he had his Second Release i don't think anyone could stop him.
Firstly, Ukitake himself said to shunsui that stubborn an opponent is sure to bring nothing to his bankai .... because we know that shunsuis bankai is a game and if, as he himself said, "the one who wins will live and the loser will die" thus it is too risky against such an intelligent opponent who like aizen after only a short time immediately sees through the weaknesses of the abilities and uses them against the opponents ... secondly, a second transformation is not necessary for starrk he fought shunsui, ukitake and later two with the masks who are also on captain level and still could not really make him serious ... If he had completely reunited his soul with lillinette, then he would have become the creature whose very existence kills weak hollows .... the reiatsu that emanated from him was so powerful that miles of hollow corpses lay around him and therefore he has a large part of his soul sacrificed to his soul to no longer be lonely and despite his soul split, he was still so strong that aizen when he saw him fascinated to him said "you are strong! "neither Barragan nor ulquiorra, both of whom were in their first metamorphosis when Aizen met them, were weaker than stubborn, who possessed perhaps two-thirds of his soul and yet was not transformed. in the state aizen has put him over barragan (transformed) and ulquiorra (first transformation) ... even if aizen did not know about the second transformation, his second transformation will not make him ten times as strong as any other transformation twice as strong !! whether he is stronger than he is stubborn is not sure, and even if his strength should be strangely surpassed, starrk can win through his intelligence and see through Ulquiorra's weaknesses in the fight .... and as I said with his entire soul, he would probably be such a reiatsu monster like aizen
@@DaddyMyers94 I dont get why they brought Grimmy and Nel back, and even revived Barragan! Starrk had so much potential to be a War Potential like the Big 7, or whatever number that was. Whats even more surprising is that Kyouraku and the other 3 have centuries of fighting experience, whereas Staark had only begun fighting recently. Nobody realizes that, dont they? Starrk is a beast

Starrk is like Shikimaru with no choji, ino, asuma or clan bro was damn near on his own until Aizen. Imagine if he actually had the right team with him
I have two reason; 1. From a story perspective,Jushiro said the Shunsui's bankai can't be seen by anyone. Implying that something is wrong with it. 2. From a writers perspective,Kubo probably hadn't thought of a bankai for him yet.
Yeah, he even asked shunsui to pretend to fight. The only time he got serious was when all his other espada had died, and aizen clearly didn't care, he got upset and wanted to at least try to avenge them.
proves how much of a badass Stark really was everyone else was taken down by a captain with a lieutenant but he faced 4 captians and have all of them a very hard time
Stark fought 2 masked vizards which is the same as fighting bankai… Shunsui also needed help from the vizard to even beat stark shunsui had help from multiple captain class opponents. He couldn’t even land a hit on stark prior to the vizards intervening. He would’ve been forced to bankai had jushiro not intervened. He even called a weakened stark(only using swords) a difficult opponent. He didn’t even have access to wolves,ceros, and cero variants. Stark>Shikai shunsui which is obvious. Edit: I saw one comment above that said That the 3 captains didn’t matter because it’s pathetic to lose to a Shikai , but those 3 are the reason shunsui even won in the first place, he would’ve been forced to bankai-would’ve killed everyone else in order to beat stark. Plus, shunsui isn’t even stronger stat wise, it’s just his insane hax that carry him. 1. Losing to Shikai isn’t a bad thing, Is gremmy underwhelming because he lost to Shikai kenpachi? Nope. 2. Shunsui wouldn’t have won in Shikai alone unless he had help from multiple captain class. Stark fought non stop, shunsui got to rest. Stark was stabbed in the back, soul split, and losing resolve, yet he could almost blitz shunsui and he was able to keep up in CQC. This is also without wolves or ceros, only swords as I mentioned above. Stark also fought bankai sized amps via mask+ Shikai. So technically, he didn’t die by a Shikai. He died By 2 bankai’s+jushiro and shunsui Shikai counting the help. Let’s not say shunsui won alone here. So he fought 4 captain class.
since when being able to force someone to use bankai means you > them? There's also nothing wrong with using hacks and tricks as a fighting method - otherwise we'd only have reskinned kenpachi fights with two people throwing explosions at each otehr.

Honestly, She should have been about #5 or #6. and there was definitely no way that she was stronger than Ulqiorra. I completely agree with your numbering, and am glad that we can agree on this.
I know Stark was strong but this battle just frustrated me. I thought he was gonna be faster and stronger then Ulquiorra since he was Primera.{Which will result in the deaths of captains if he was lol} and blow everyone away without breaking a sweat. After his death I stopped watching the series until Aizen and Ichigo started to fight. The battle with Stark was interesting but I got disappointed at his lazy ass. Like you said There is reason for Aizen to place him Primera only for fucking ceros and not baraggan.
Jorge Moisa he did have the second release because Ulquiorra said that all 4 and lower had a second release but they could only use it while in that certain part because their second release would cause too much destruction
True, but I still hope they bring him back somehow. They could explain it by saying only his hole was cut by a purifying zanpaktou, so now his halo side is completely gone but his shinigami side lives on. Dare to dream but it would be pretty cool if they did that.
it may how ever happen in the manga, it was once said that hollows cut with a Zanpaktou were cleansed and sent to the soul society so there is still hope for starrk and lillynette to still be alive in the soul society)
He seems pretty young to me... Nonetheless he was the only Espada who was born a Vasto Lorde. Aizen turned him into a Arrancar, which caused him to stop ageing. The original Starrk WAS the strongest, but he was so lonely he split his soul into two and became the Starrk we know and Lilynette, the only Hollows that became Arrancars by themselves (Without Aizens aid) Someone who split their own SOUL into two entities. And still getting #1 Espada position. Friggin badass imo.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think aside from him Ulquiorra and Haribel were both Vasto Lordes as well. While Grimmjow, Noitara, and the others were born from Adjuchas. I THINK Barragon was already an Arrancar when Aizen pulled up with the boys. Not sure if I'm spelling Barragon's name right.
I honestly would be fine if he lived... he would be one of those characters that would show up every now and then but never really do anything important for the plot.
kubo stated that halibel,grimmjow and stark may appear in the new arc the source is an almost recent interview... Stark is the most badass espada, he is way stronger than captain level-shinigami, but remember shunsui is probably the second strongest shinigami within soul society
Stark is insanely strong and wasn’t going all out… the same can be said for Shunsui since he didn’t use all of his shikai abilities… plus he fake an injury cuz he didn’t want to fight anymore
Wrong, Shunsui didn't fake an injury and even less because he didn't want to fight. He cowardly ran away from a fight that was his, allowing himself to rest and waiting for an opportunity to strike critically. He himself knew that he could not defeat Starrk alone. So he allowed 3 more captains to interfere and saw each one go to his knees while Starrk was untouched, bored and unprepared for a stab in the back. In CS and other similar games we call this type of person a camper, referred to as too weak and cowardly to go head-to-head in 1v1 against your opponent.
Ulquiora did whatever Aizen wanted without question. Starrk was in it to have ``friends`` people around him strong enough to not die. He often spoke about not wanting to do certain deeds and in the end cared very little for aizen who he recognized didnt love any of them.
I feel like if starrk was fast enough to dodge most of shunsuis attacks, put up a fight for shunsui, get orihime from wherever the fuck he was AND get back instantly, I'm pretty sure he coulda dodged in the 5 seconds kyoraku gave him to dodge the last hit, every starrk fan or at least I referenced TFS piccolo and said WHY DIDN'T YOU DOOOOODGE?! well maybe cuz Lilynette died so it's like he wanted to die but aizen would be brutal about it
When toshiro was first telling ichigo about menos classes, it was ulquiorras silhouette we saw when he got to vasto lordes. I’d say that means ulquiorras also a vasto, but I doubt nnoitora is. His release didn’t look human enough to suggest vasto lorde
@evildoc666 He didn't fight 4 captains... he fought 1 captain... then 2 captains.. then 2 captains.. then 1 captain.. It was starrk vs shunsui... then it was starrk vs shunsui&joshiro. Then it was starrk vs the vizards. then it was starrk vs shunsui in 1 on 1 again... and shunsui won.... in the one on one. Starrk has vast amounts of spiritual energy, and was barely tired by the time him and shunsui engaged in their final one on one. In reality he was beaten by one captain using a shikai.

No, that was when Kyouraku was using the abilities of his shikai. While I have no doubt Stark could have definitely won that fight he could not cut Kyouraku that time because he had to call out the color he wanted to cut. That was the game being played at the time and everyone in the spiritual range of the game had to play by those rules.
Starks death is the second most disappointed thing i have seen happen in Bleach... he is set out to be the strongest Espada, yet 2 captains without even using bankai takes him down.
well yeah in the end of the fight SHE SACRIFICED HERSELF to save starrk.. What he pointed out is that Starrk sacrificed her to gain his powers, thing that never happened, Lillinette alone sacrificed herself to SAVE STARRK, as a wolf she was, Starrk didnt sacrifice her !
True. I'm just proving that not all of the espada were purified and sent to Soul Society because it was proven otherwise that they went to Hell. It is very possible that the good ones were able to be purified. Also, Halibel didn't die so she doesn't relate to the whole espada death thing.

Wrong. Aizen knew it existed, he wasn't in the least bit surprised by Ichigo or Ulquiorra's battle, in fact, he gave the impression like he planned it that way, and he expected it. People always confuse themselves: Aizen knew about Ulquiorra's Segunda Etapa, but he didn't know the extent of his power in that form. Simply put, Aizen didn't believe Ulquiorra was stronger than Harribel even with his second release, simples.
i think that the fact that his sword stopped, is because of Kyoraku's sword ability.. i mean you can see that he is astonished that he didnt cut Kyoraku, i mean he wouldnt react in that way, if he didnt really want to cut him.. my opinion
.....he is right and wrong you know, by the end point she is pretty much gone, the wolves were a representation of her and the last one which protected Stark from attack was blown away by Shunsui's attack. Afterwards you can see Stark pauses in shock and horror, having realised she just sacrificed herself (also why the Soundscape to Ardor music was playing in that scene, as he realises she is gone)
actually, you're probably right about that. It is possible that he was just showing off, and was actually not strong at all. Unfortunately, we will never know for sure unless we ask Kubo.
Oh no doubt, but he had to be defeated somehow in order for the story to go on. Also, he lost the will to fight so you could say that was the main reason he lost. With Lillinette gone his mind was clouded with thoughts of being alone. While Kyoraku was the underdog in terms of spiritual power I think, a moment of losing focus is all it takes.
I am Further expanding on why I Think stark wins against TYBW shikai Shunsui.We all know that stark of course,will lose to Bankai shunsui(sadly). Well,let’s get started; First of all,Shunsui without his clones will not be tagging stark.Even a stark without access to his CM or wolves won’t get tagged unless Shunsui uses his Clones.This is because shunsui couldn’t even touch a healed stark without having Outside help.An intent to kill Shunsui failed to blindside stark with a straw hat that he used to disguise his attack: Spoiler: And again when stark was having a chat with jushiro about his nasty ability: Spoiler: The only time Shunsui could ever tag stark was when he had help from the vizards and took advantage of the situation,which won’t happen in a 1 on 1 scenario Spoiler: Shunsui needs his clones to potentially overwhelm stark with numbers like he did here with Lille Barro: Spoiler: But that won’t work either.Stark has shown the capability to Conjure 50-70 wolves or more.Meanwhile Shunsui at most has only been shown to produce 5-6 clones.Not only does Stark have the number advantage with the wolves,they are also intangible and cannot die from physical attacks like the Striking of a zanpakuto,so even if Shunsui used that game it would be nigh useless in the face of superior numbers and the Hax of the intangible wolves against his physical attacking clones.To further add on to this. the clones wouldn’t even be able to get close if the real Shunsui couldn’t,thanks to Cero metralleta which even kept the real Shunsui on his toes,and getting ready to use bankai.So wolves or just starks Cero guns would already be an adequate counter to the clones. Now moving on to the part where Shunsui appears behind his opponent almost instantly with Daruma San fell over.He Talks And sings the jingle before appearing behind his opponent,like he did with his first encounter with Lille,giving him the chance to dodge: Spoiler: Stark can also dodge aswell,and even easier at that given he has Better reactions than Lille,and has the advantage of listening in on the jingle before Shunsui strikes aswell.But you may be asking,how does stark have better reactions than Lille barro?Well Here is how; Shunsui could blitz Lille in CQC without the use of his games: Spoiler: meanwhile a weakened stark who has suffered from Soul tearing,Mental resolve being low,and a stab through the spinal area,can react to Shunsui in CQC,and was even physically competing with him even with all these hinderance factors. I would also like to comment that starks colmillo blades are stronger than Lille barros Diagram constructs ,notice how I’m the panel I posted above,Lilles Bow(Diagram) got cut in half by shikai Shunsui and he had to reform it?A weakened starks blades of Reiatsu can clash against Shunsuis without getting sliced in half or damaged in the slightest. Spoiler: He also already dodged Kage-oni in canon while weakened,so that shouldn’t be a problem either for a healthy stark. so not only does stark have the tools to counter Shunsuis every game.He can still react to Shunsuis raw speed without even being touched.The only thing that would be the problem is the game that allows him to appear instantly and the clones that at overwhelm in numbers,but I already covered that,so let’s recap: •Shunsui can’t even get close to stark because of CM keeping him away,and would even force him to go bankai. •Shunsuis clones can’t even get close thanks to CM considering the real Shunsui couldn’t.Or the wolves,which I’ve already explained are immune to their physical attacks and can overwhelm in numbers. •Shunsuis Kageoni gets reacted to as per canon by a healthy stark considering a weakened stark already could. •Daruma San Fell over will be countered by starks reactions which are greater or at the very least the same as Lilles. In short: Starrk vs Shunsui Starrk win chance: 100.00% Shinsui's chance to win: 00.00% Now I have a question: If Shunsui who can't even touch Starrk was named the new commander of the Gotei 13, then would Starrk have any chance of beating Yamamoto and his Bankai?
Anyway, Remembering that filler where it showed Szayel and Aaroniero landed in Hell, thought it was to promote the Bleach Hell Chapter movie, Hoping they'll use that as a Loop Hole to bring back Starrk stronger than ever o3o
I have to agree. He had no speed or brains at all, and relied on Ulquiorra to do all of the thinking for him! i think he could have maybe landed a hit on Halibel, but the others would have killed him before he got the chance. and Barragan? Not a chance in the world! That couldn't even be called a fight! He may have been labeled as "#0" but really, he was below most of the others and would have died in a real battle almost instantly.
+ONE_BONE _4_LIFE Assuming he even had one. At that time, Ulquiorra said he was the only Espada to have developed a 2nd release, so it's highly unlikely that Stark had one before he died. But yeah, if Stark had that 2nd release he'd easily solo everyone in the SS except Yamamoto and maybe Shinji.
the captain never hit her, the wolves reformed after being struck but after starrk blew them all up he said "i'm alone" he was using his guns to shoot ceros but when he switched to wolves his guns disappeared and lilynette never spoke again. he made her through his power and during this fight used up all the power he used to make her, thus sacrificing her.
If I remember it properly, there was a point near the end of the battle where he tried to talk to her and she didn't respond. This is following the point at which Shunsui started his heroic beat down.
I felt the same way with Grimmjow he became an anti-hero of sorts near the end of the Arrancar arc was hoping he'd turn on Aizen and help Ichigo...but that one eyed wanker almost killed him
When he found out about about the Captains Bankai being so strong, he put forth enough effort to put up a huge challenge to 2 Vizard and 2 Senior captains
as much as I agree with this statement, that's sort of the effect it needed to show as his whole body and presence was the representation of Loneliness... he had to worry, care for those he may lose as he IS loneliness, therefore his treasure is his partners and friends, just like the good guys of bleach, therefore you can say he's not so different, however he is hollow and does do his duty. Unfortunatly, that is the only reason he is bad.
Lillinette was personified in the wolves that were helping Stark fight. When Kyoruku used his bushuguma to kill them, she was permanently gone. As a result, Starrk had no reason to want to live.
to be fair, the others do have to charge bala, it is just really fast, and stark does fire his ceros at about the same speed. the only time he really charges is when he fires lots of them.
She did sacrifice, even if she was a part of him (that was seperated) she still had a different personality and cognitive existence, she chose to give up her own existence to protect him, and you could tell it was and emotional decision so it was a sacrifice no matter how you look at it. It makes it all the more depressing that they split in the first place to have a friend, and after he dies, he comments on how he even dies alone. That's pretty f*cking depressing.
perhaps, but there is a forum I came across on the net that some guy posted from the Jump specificly stating the fact, but judging on capability, i'd say they could have a very even fight.
*SPOILER ALERT* As of now in the manga Ichigo is so strong that he doesn't need his hollow form to take on all of the Gotei 13 by himself. In the latest chapter he is able to strike back at one of the Zero Division members, and crack his hand. He is at least up to par with the Zero Division, and it has been said that the members of the Zero Division are stronger than the whole Gotei 13, meaning Ichigo has already surpasses all the members of the Gotei 13.
Of Ulquiorras Lanza Del Relampago, though maybe not in just a single explosion, and starrk can Control them, while Ulquiorra has trouble aiming his lance. Also, while Ulquiorras Hierro is powerful, Starrk took a direct hit from Love Aikawa's Shikai, while he had his mask on, and was practically unharmed.
@silentbl00d i think you are right starrk was worried about his partner because she is like his little sister but he would have survived if he had defected and fought against aizen cuz he was the only origional espada
Out of all of the espadas (sorry for my bad spelling) stories I love Starks the most. Although it is the saddest in my opinion. He was so lonely he cut himself in half to have a friend :'(
I really liked starrk and i thought how Kyouraku Shunsui fought against him was a bit wimpy considering he attacked him from behind a lot, starrk was the better fighter in my opinion i really wanted him to win >

What I find odd about this fight compared to nearly every other fight in Bleach, is this is entire from Starrk's point of view. You don't hear Kyoraku's internal thoughts, you don't know what he's thinking. The anime treats Starrk like the protagonist, and Kyoraku as the villain to the point where you're pulling for Starrk.
Agreed, honestly think this plays extra sad since if given the chance to harmonize I think stark might have been happy to exist around those he fought, loneliness is a gut rencher for me so I kept hoping they could just seal him or capture, he would have been a great ally, thats war or battle but does not change the loss of potential and the existence of those who are lost

Starks aspect of death was Loneliness. A hollows power seems to stem from the size of the hole on their hearts. And, barring Ulquiorras nilihsim, Starks loneliness is perhaps the greatest 'hollowness' you can feel.
The beauty of Stark as a character is that he is immensely powerful, but the very source of his power is the reason he never fully utilizes it. He just doesn't care. He's depressed.
I don't think we ever saw Stark really 'try' in his battle. And when Lillinette died, I believe that's when Stark dedicated himself to death as well.
I believe it's also because of this loneliness that Aizen seemed to respect Stark more so than the other espada. Because Aizen was also lonely. But unlike Stark, Aizen is not a hollow.
Rather than loneliness, Aizens aspect of death was Solitude. To be lonely but to still have the resolve to carry on.
That's what Stark lacked. Resolve.
You know it's still pissing off how he just died. For 1 he was not hostile and they knew this too that is why they took there time. 2 all he wanted was a friend. 3 there was a comedy skit right in the middle of fighting. 4 he was the coolest one by being the only one in the anime with guns. Last 5 at the end he wasn't even focused on the fight worrying about his partner, WORRYING! His death was more of a tragedy than a "good guy win bad guy lose"

+lazy gizmo Yes, it was tragic how he died. Of course, Stark represents "loneliness" as a cause of death (all 10 Espada represent different causes of death according to the story), so it's actually somewhat fitting for an Espada like him.
Just think how OP he would be if he wasn't giving in to that feeling. He fought 4 captain-level Soul Reapers and Visoreds and held his own almost effortlessly - while in a state of loneliness. At max power, he could probably solo everyone except Yamamoto and maybe Shinji.

Stark had the most unfair fight. He didn't want to fight anyone strong, instead he ended up fighting two captains and two vizards who were once captains. Saw long Primera Espada

Funny thing about the fight: Kyoraku didn't get serious vs. Stark until late in the fight, either.
But IMO, Halibel's fight was also unfair. She fought 2 visoreds and a captain, then Aizen stabbed her in the back just as a WTF ending.

Kenpachi and Byakuya took out Yami without trying, Kenpachi wasn't trying too hard against Nnoitra, Byakuya only struggled because Zommari had a Rukia meat shield, and Mayuri was just toying with Szayel. It's like most of these fights were sort of mismatched.
0DarkEagle Hachigen was definitely needed against Barragan (Espada No. 2) since his original opponents were Soifon and Omaeda, neither of which were a match for him at all. Not even close. That kido from Hachigen along with a bada$$ strategy were what took Barragan down.
Since Barragan had that "death aura" surrounding him after he went Resurreccion Mode, physical attacks were completely out of the question, as if they weren't already against his base form (in which he merely "aged" anything attacking him). And neither Soifon nor Omaeda had any kido that could do ANY real damage to Barragan in the first place since his Reiatsu was greater than theirs. (Soifon does have Shunko up her sleeve, but it's a partial physical attack which, as I said already, is useless vs. Barragan.)
And Love and Rose were (somewhat) needed against Stark (Espada No. 1) since Kyoraku and Ukitake, his original opponents, both got cheapshotted by him and (I think) Wonderweiss. They bought enough time for Kyoraku to recover, turn around, and cheapshot Stark with his "shadow tag" game. After that, Kyoraku had little trouble beating him with those Shikai shadow games.
cameraREDeye His Shadow Game match made things uncomfortable for a lot of people but against Barragan, well there were other people who knew Kido, if not then Yamamoto would have stepped in and ended the guy. Actually with Bankai Yamamoto would be all there needs against the Espada, all the others have to do is take out Wonderweiss. Or not, hell his bankai comes with it's own army
If Starrk could use his second release he would be unstoppable. Shame on that, he deserved more than this...
If Stark would have done that then Kyoraku would have just used his bankai and it would have been the same outcome.
@@HORRIOR1 We never really saw Starrk using his full power even in his first release, if you really think that his power and Shunsui aren't on par with each other you are just dumb. I agree that with Bankai Kyouraku would kill Starrk, however, we will never know how powerfull Starrk really was since we never saw his true strenght.
C'mon, Starrk was so powerfull that everything that got close to him died and it kept happening until he learned how to control his power, he wasn't the First Espada just for show, he was the strongest of them and handled 4 Capitains single handed, including 2 Vizard and 2 that where almost on the same level as Yamamoto. He was a beast and if he had his Second Release i don't think anyone could stop him.

because we know that shunsuis bankai is a game and if, as he himself said, "the one who wins will live and the loser will die"
thus it is too risky against such an intelligent opponent who like aizen after only a short time immediately sees through the weaknesses of the abilities and uses them against the opponents ...
secondly, a second transformation is not necessary for starrk he fought shunsui, ukitake and later two with the masks who are also on captain level and still could not really make him serious ...
If he had completely reunited his soul with lillinette, then he would have become the creature whose very existence kills weak hollows ....
the reiatsu that emanated from him was so powerful that miles of hollow corpses lay around him and therefore he has a large part of his soul sacrificed to his soul to no longer be lonely and despite his soul split, he was still so strong that aizen when he saw him fascinated to him said "you are strong!
"neither Barragan nor ulquiorra, both of whom were in their first metamorphosis when Aizen met them, were weaker than stubborn, who possessed perhaps two-thirds of his soul and yet was not transformed.
in the state aizen has put him over barragan (transformed) and ulquiorra (first transformation) ...
even if aizen did not know about the second transformation, his second transformation will not make him ten times as strong as any other transformation twice as strong !!
whether he is stronger than he is stubborn is not sure, and even if his strength should be strangely surpassed, starrk can win through his intelligence and see through Ulquiorra's weaknesses in the fight ....
and as I said with his entire soul, he would probably be such a reiatsu monster like aizen

1. From a story perspective,Jushiro said the Shunsui's bankai can't be seen by anyone. Implying that something is wrong with it.
2. From a writers perspective,Kubo probably hadn't thought of a bankai for him yet.

Stark fought 2 masked vizards which is the same as fighting bankai… Shunsui also needed help from the vizard to even beat stark
shunsui had help from multiple captain class opponents. He couldn’t even land a hit on stark prior to the vizards intervening. He would’ve been forced to bankai had jushiro not intervened. He even called a weakened stark(only using swords) a difficult opponent. He didn’t even have access to wolves,ceros, and cero variants.

Edit: I saw one comment above that said That the 3 captains didn’t matter because it’s pathetic to lose to a Shikai , but those 3 are the reason shunsui even won in the first place, he would’ve been forced to bankai-would’ve killed everyone else in order to beat stark. Plus, shunsui isn’t even stronger stat wise, it’s just his insane hax that carry him. 1. Losing to Shikai isn’t a bad thing, Is gremmy underwhelming because he lost to Shikai kenpachi? Nope.
2. Shunsui wouldn’t have won in Shikai alone unless he had help from multiple captain class. Stark fought non stop, shunsui got to rest. Stark was stabbed in the back, soul split, and losing resolve, yet he could almost blitz shunsui and he was able to keep up in CQC. This is also without wolves or ceros, only swords as I mentioned above.
Stark also fought bankai sized amps via mask+ Shikai. So technically, he didn’t die by a Shikai. He died By 2 bankai’s+jushiro and shunsui Shikai counting the help. Let’s not say shunsui won alone here.
So he fought 4 captain class.
since when being able to force someone to use bankai means you > them? There's also nothing wrong with using hacks and tricks as a fighting method - otherwise we'd only have reskinned kenpachi fights with two people throwing explosions at each otehr.

I know Stark was strong but this battle just frustrated me. I thought he was gonna be faster and stronger then Ulquiorra since he was Primera.{Which will result in the deaths of captains if he was lol} and blow everyone away without breaking a sweat. After his death I stopped watching the series until Aizen and Ichigo started to fight. The battle with Stark was interesting but I got disappointed at his lazy ass. Like you said There is reason for Aizen to place him Primera only for fucking ceros and not baraggan.

True, but I still hope they bring him back somehow. They could explain it by saying only his hole was cut by a purifying zanpaktou, so now his halo side is completely gone but his shinigami side lives on. Dare to dream but it would be pretty cool if they did that.
it may how ever happen in the manga, it was once said that hollows cut with a Zanpaktou were cleansed and sent to the soul society so there is still hope for starrk and lillynette to still be alive in the soul society)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think aside from him Ulquiorra and Haribel were both Vasto Lordes as well. While Grimmjow, Noitara, and the others were born from Adjuchas. I THINK Barragon was already an Arrancar when Aizen pulled up with the boys. Not sure if I'm spelling Barragon's name right.

I honestly would be fine if he lived... he would be one of those characters that would show up every now and then but never really do anything important for the plot.

Stark is insanely strong and wasn’t going all out… the same can be said for Shunsui since he didn’t use all of his shikai abilities… plus he fake an injury cuz he didn’t want to fight anymore
Wrong, Shunsui didn't fake an injury and even less because he didn't want to fight. He cowardly ran away from a fight that was his, allowing himself to rest and waiting for an opportunity to strike critically.
He himself knew that he could not defeat Starrk alone. So he allowed 3 more captains to interfere and saw each one go to his knees while Starrk was untouched, bored and unprepared for a stab in the back.
In CS and other similar games we call this type of person a camper, referred to as too weak and cowardly to go head-to-head in 1v1 against your opponent.

Ulquiora did whatever Aizen wanted without question. Starrk was in it to have ``friends`` people around him strong enough to not die. He often spoke about not wanting to do certain deeds and in the end cared very little for aizen who he recognized didnt love any of them.
I feel like if starrk was fast enough to dodge most of shunsuis attacks, put up a fight for shunsui, get orihime from wherever the fuck he was AND get back instantly, I'm pretty sure he coulda dodged in the 5 seconds kyoraku gave him to dodge the last hit, every starrk fan or at least I referenced TFS piccolo and said WHY DIDN'T YOU DOOOOODGE?! well maybe cuz Lilynette died so it's like he wanted to die but aizen would be brutal about it

When toshiro was first telling ichigo about menos classes, it was ulquiorras silhouette we saw when he got to vasto lordes. I’d say that means ulquiorras also a vasto, but I doubt nnoitora is. His release didn’t look human enough to suggest vasto lorde

Then it was starrk vs the vizards. then it was starrk vs shunsui in 1 on 1 again... and shunsui won.... in the one on one. Starrk has vast amounts of spiritual energy, and was barely tired by the time him and shunsui engaged in their final one on one. In reality he was beaten by one captain using a shikai.

No, that was when Kyouraku was using the abilities of his shikai. While I have no doubt Stark could have definitely won that fight he could not cut Kyouraku that time because he had to call out the color he wanted to cut. That was the game being played at the time and everyone in the spiritual range of the game had to play by those rules.

True. I'm just proving that not all of the espada were purified and sent to Soul Society because it was proven otherwise that they went to Hell. It is very possible that the good ones were able to be purified. Also, Halibel didn't die so she doesn't relate to the whole espada death thing.

Aizen knew it existed, he wasn't in the least bit surprised by Ichigo or Ulquiorra's battle, in fact, he gave the impression like he planned it that way, and he expected it.
People always confuse themselves: Aizen knew about Ulquiorra's Segunda Etapa, but he didn't know the extent of his power in that form. Simply put, Aizen didn't believe Ulquiorra was stronger than Harribel even with his second release, simples.
i think that the fact that his sword stopped, is because of Kyoraku's sword ability.. i mean you can see that he is astonished that he didnt cut Kyoraku, i mean he wouldnt react in that way, if he didnt really want to cut him.. my opinion
.....he is right and wrong you know, by the end point she is pretty much gone, the wolves were a representation of her and the last one which protected Stark from attack was blown away by Shunsui's attack. Afterwards you can see Stark pauses in shock and horror, having realised she just sacrificed herself (also why the Soundscape to Ardor music was playing in that scene, as he realises she is gone)
actually, you're probably right about that. It is possible that he was just showing off, and was actually not strong at all. Unfortunately, we will never know for sure unless we ask Kubo.
Oh no doubt, but he had to be defeated somehow in order for the story to go on. Also, he lost the will to fight so you could say that was the main reason he lost. With Lillinette gone his mind was clouded with thoughts of being alone. While Kyoraku was the underdog in terms of spiritual power I think, a moment of losing focus is all it takes.

Well,let’s get started;
First of all,Shunsui without his clones will not be tagging stark.Even a stark without access to his CM or wolves won’t get tagged unless Shunsui uses his Clones.This is because shunsui couldn’t even touch a healed stark without having Outside help.An intent to kill Shunsui failed to blindside stark with a straw hat that he used to disguise his attack:

But that won’t work either.Stark has shown the capability to Conjure 50-70 wolves or more.Meanwhile Shunsui at most has only been shown to produce 5-6 clones.Not only does Stark have the number advantage with the wolves,they are also intangible and cannot die from physical attacks like the Striking of a zanpakuto,so even if Shunsui used that game it would be nigh useless in the face of superior numbers and the Hax of the intangible wolves against his physical attacking clones.To further add on to this.
the clones wouldn’t even be able to get close if the real Shunsui couldn’t,thanks to Cero metralleta which even kept the real Shunsui on his toes,and getting ready to use bankai.So wolves or just starks Cero guns would already be an adequate counter to the clones.
Now moving on to the part where Shunsui appears behind his opponent almost instantly with Daruma San fell over.He Talks And sings the jingle before appearing behind his opponent,like he did with his first encounter with Lille,giving him the chance to dodge:

meanwhile a weakened stark who has suffered from Soul tearing,Mental resolve being low,and a stab through the spinal area,can react to Shunsui in CQC,and was even physically competing with him even with all these hinderance factors.
I would also like to comment that starks colmillo blades are stronger than Lille barros Diagram constructs ,notice how I’m the panel I posted above,Lilles Bow(Diagram) got cut in half by shikai Shunsui and he had to reform it?A weakened starks blades of Reiatsu can clash against Shunsuis without getting sliced in half or damaged in the slightest.

He also already dodged Kage-oni in canon while weakened,so that shouldn’t be a problem either for a healthy stark.
so not only does stark have the tools to counter Shunsuis every game.He can still react to Shunsuis raw speed without even being touched.The only thing that would be the problem is the game that allows him to appear instantly and the clones that at overwhelm in numbers,but I already covered that,so let’s recap:
•Shunsui can’t even get close to stark because of CM keeping him away,and would even force him to go bankai.
•Shunsuis clones can’t even get close thanks to CM considering the real Shunsui couldn’t.Or the wolves,which I’ve already explained are immune to their physical attacks and can overwhelm in numbers.
•Shunsuis Kageoni gets reacted to as per canon by a healthy stark considering a weakened stark already could.
•Daruma San Fell over will be countered by starks reactions which are greater or at the very least the same as Lilles.

He had no speed or brains at all, and relied on Ulquiorra to do all of the thinking for him! i think he could have maybe landed a hit on Halibel, but the others would have killed him before he got the chance. and Barragan? +ONE_BONE _4_LIFE Assuming he even had one. At that time, Ulquiorra said he was the only Espada to have developed a 2nd release, so it's highly unlikely that Stark had one before he died.
But yeah, if Stark had that 2nd release he'd easily solo everyone in the SS except Yamamoto and maybe Shinji.
the captain never hit her, the wolves reformed after being struck but after starrk blew them all up he said "i'm alone"
he was using his guns to shoot ceros but when he switched to wolves his guns disappeared and lilynette never spoke again.
he made her through his power and during this fight used up all the power he used to make her, thus sacrificing her.
If I remember it properly, there was a point near the end of the battle where he tried to talk to her and she didn't respond. This is following the point at which Shunsui started his heroic beat down.
I felt the same way with Grimmjow he became an anti-hero of sorts near the end of the Arrancar arc was hoping he'd turn on Aizen and help Ichigo...but that one eyed wanker almost killed him
When he found out about about the Captains Bankai being so strong, he put forth enough effort to put up a huge challenge to 2 Vizard and 2 Senior captains

as much as I agree with this statement, that's sort of the effect it needed to show as his whole body and presence was the representation of Loneliness... he had to worry, care for those he may lose as he IS loneliness, therefore his treasure is his partners and friends, just like the good guys of bleach, therefore you can say he's not so different, however he is hollow and does do his duty. Unfortunatly, that is the only reason he is bad.
Lillinette was personified in the wolves that were helping Stark fight. When Kyoruku used his bushuguma to kill them, she was permanently gone. As a result, Starrk had no reason to want to live.
to be fair, the others do have to charge bala, it is just really fast, and stark does fire his ceros at about the same speed. the only time he really charges is when he fires lots of them.
She did sacrifice, even if she was a part of him (that was seperated) she still had a different personality and cognitive existence, she chose to give up her own existence to protect him, and you could tell it was and emotional decision so it was a sacrifice no matter how you look at it. It makes it all the more depressing that they split in the first place to have a friend, and after he dies, he comments on how he even dies alone. That's pretty f*cking depressing.
I agree, Stark death was actually the saddest.

perhaps, but there is a forum I came across on the net that some guy posted from the Jump specificly stating the fact, but judging on capability, i'd say they could have a very even fight.

As of now in the manga Ichigo is so strong that he doesn't need his hollow form to take on all of the Gotei 13 by himself. In the latest chapter he is able to strike back at one of the Zero Division members, and crack his hand. He is at least up to par with the Zero Division, and it has been said that the members of the Zero Division are stronger than the whole Gotei 13, meaning Ichigo has already surpasses all the members of the Gotei 13.
Of Ulquiorras Lanza Del Relampago, though maybe not in just a single explosion, and starrk can Control them, while Ulquiorra has trouble aiming his lance. Also, while Ulquiorras Hierro is powerful, Starrk took a direct hit from Love Aikawa's Shikai, while he had his mask on, and was practically unharmed.
@silentbl00d i think you are right starrk was worried about his partner because she is like his little sister but he would have survived if he had defected and fought against aizen cuz he was the only origional espada
The girl died before he did towards the end of the fight, that is the point in which he basically gave up
Don;t get me wrong though. Starrk is amazingly strong, and one of my favorite characters from bleach. I was sad when he died.

Out of all of the espadas (sorry for my bad spelling) stories I love Starks the most. Although it is the saddest in my opinion. He was so lonely he cut himself in half to have a friend :'(

I really liked starrk and i thought how Kyouraku Shunsui fought against him was a bit wimpy considering he attacked him from behind a lot, starrk was the better fighter in my opinion i really wanted him to win >

well i agree with that, what the other man stated was that starrk had sacrificed her to release his power, which is wrong
