Mustang's fight with Lust was brutal and his fight with Envy was hard but tragic in the end. I hated envy for killing Hughes but after seeing him cry after Edward figured him out then commit suicide I couldn't help but feel a little pity for him
It's basically the perfect anime, i'm dead serious. Even my all time favorite anime has flaws in it, but I can't find anything wrong with Brotherhood, it's flawless and masterful. Perfect anime to show to new people and even veterans still love it.

Mac I thought Gurren Lagan was pretty cool, but too childish, Tomas Melo I thought Death Note's plot ruined it, EpicMidnite and yeah, I probably should watch HunterxHunter, it's just so long so I've put it off. I just love FMA though.

I don't know why but when I see Edward and Alphonse I find myself comparing them to Sam and Dean from Supernatural, it's just there beginnings are so similar in some aspects it's weird in a cool way.
One big bro that feels more like a friend than a relative, one takes care of each other and no matter what, they will always be happy just to have each other, in a point it is really similar.
i swear to god Fullmetal Alchemist is one of the best anime/manga I've ever seen. Just the though put into it and the humour. The love and hate relationships and just how every thing is set. Its perfect
I agree with you in seeing the first anime as having a 'true' ending with brotherhood being 'ideal' but not because of how it was sad and with more death. I liked the original because it put more emphasis on the consequence of one's actions and dealt with the whole 'equivalent exchange' thing much better than in brotherhood.
We can argue like there is a definitive better series between FMA and FMAB or we can just accept that they are both incredible series in their own right and should both be watched and enjoyed by everyone. Seriously, if you only watched one of the series then go watch the other now because either way you can't go wrong.
Mustang's destruction of Envy was seriously one of the best moments in any anime I've watched.
