Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory Characters: Good to Evil
In the world of WIlly Wonka and the Chocolate factory, it seems like everything is centered around candy. The entire world charges to get one of five golden tickets to go see the inside of the legendary chocolate factory... But the main question is... in a world of selfishness, greed and gluttony… Who wanted the Golden Ticket and the prize of a lifetime supply of chocolate for selfish reasons and who had a heart of gold? Today we’re digging into the morality of the characters from the classic movie to see who’s pure and good... and who’s, well… Evil and selfish. #WillyWonka

WickedBinge Y’know their actually was character in the movie that you forgot to mention “The Tinker” likely put in the Bad to Evil section because he’s kind of a creep when he spoils Charlie by saying “Up the airy mountain, down the rushing glen, we dare not go hunting, you see nobody ever goes in...nobody ever comes out...”
When I said spoil I meant spook Charlie
You will make good to evil about his remake ?
OOMPA LOOMPA
Heh I’m also a tv kid my mom just sits me down and let’s me watch TV for hours
I think you forgot a character. Charlie’s boss who made sure he got paid, reminded him to say hi to your grandpa joe, And helped Charlie escape the crowd when he found the last golden ticket. I feel like he would’ve been a good/gray area candidate
Nah he'd be bronze for good
Charlie's Teacher needs to be in the gray area & replace him with Charlie's paper route boss for third place in the Good category
Same with oompa loompas
I also noticed his absence. He belongs in the good area, above Charlie’s teacher.
Yup him too
Two interesting factoids about this movie:
1. The kid who played Charlie quit acting and became a dentist.
2. He didn't know about Gene's blow-up scene, so when Gene's yelling at him, his reaction is 100% real. Gene had asked for that for the sake of realism.
No Gene was against it. It was the directors call
He actually became a veterinarian
...how did he not know about the scene? Didn't he have to know what to say?
He became a veterinarian not a dentist.
Really? I’m surprised the boy didn’t break down in tears at it then.
It was surprising to see Willy Wonka as most evil but after rewatching the movie time and time again it makes perfect sense.
I'm not surprised in the slightest!
He's a psycho
You realized that your comment will be spoilers for new people, right? Although, I agree. I can see why Willy Wonka is an awful person.

Mr. Turkentom Charlie's teacher is grey area at best he literally shames Charlie infront of his classmates for being too poor that he only opened 2 Wonka bars so far when everyone else opened 100+. Plus hes a sore loser where he takes it out on the kids by having them take and exam on Mondays before they learned the material.

Ah, yes, “Saw for Kids”. I’d be interested to see you rank the characters of Charlie and theChocolate Factory to see who moves up and down the list.
As a side thought, I’d have added Charlie’s other grandparents into the grey, as while they support Charlie, they are also don’t do anything to help keep house.
I mean, the other grandparents could've actually been sick and bedridden, unlike that faker Grandpa Joe.
That was one thing that bugged me about Willy Wonka. He was completely calm when the other kids broke the rules and didn't listen to him, but then he got pissed off at Charlie and his grandfather for touching the ceiling.
It might be interpreted that he knew the others are bad but he had hopes for Charlie and when Charlie broke the rules that really hurt him.

My dad saw this in theaters when it came out. He said all the little kids were crying and a lot of them left, but my dad was laughing the whole time. He said he really lost it when he saw the fat kid get stuck in the pipe. He told me he looked constipated. I don’t want to speculate but maybe the candy shop owner was actually keeping the bar with the golden ticket for Charlie and he knew he would win the grand prize which is why he made Charlie pay for the chocolate bar = a small price for a life time supply of chocolate, sounds fair enough to me
Edit: Also the teacher sounds like kind of a jerk for putting Charlie down in front of the rest of the class for only buying two Wonka bars. Personally I would have moved him into neutral/grey area and put Mr Jopeck (Charlie’s boss) as third most good.
MatPat suggested something similar in his recent Wonka episode. He pointed to how all the winners are *ahem* white... and also children, and suggested that Slugworth was probably "guiding" the tickets into certain demographics. He likely put the store owner up to it, like "hey, give this to someone who deserves it."
I think Mr. Tunkentine, Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Mike Teavee and the Oompa Loompas should be in the grey area.
Pirates of the Caribbean good to evil
I think Mr. Jopeck should be included in the good category for helping Charlie get away from the mob of people. I also disagree with Grandpa Joe being put in the "bad/evil" category.
Rewatch the movie and you'll find out that Grandpa Joe is crap
And how about the Tinker who literally spooked Charlie at the gateway entrance to the factory “Up the airy mountain, down the rushing glen, we dare not go hunting, you see nobody ever goes in, nobody ever comes out...” and then when he moves away with his load of dangerous knives he gives Charlie the death glare. I knew Willy Wonka would be the most evil character here, though he's much better in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
I did watch this movie a lot as a kid. I’m 25 now and I remember when I first saw this video. The thumbnail kind of shocked me. Also on other good to evil vids on WickedBinge, they don’t usually put the most good and most evil characters in the thumbnail, probably to keep viewers guessing as to where a certain character lands. So basically what I’m saying is I was stunned to see Wonka with devil horns in the thumbnail before watching the video for the first time. After the video it all made so much more sense because yeah that man’s F’D UP!
Do a good to evil of the Charlie and the chocolate factory remake.
I would say the most evil could be the ex employees who sold Wonka's recipes for a quick buck. Although, considering how Wonka runs the factory, I can see why they stabbed Wonka in the back.
I'm surpised oompa loompas weren't ranked-i'd imagine they'd be in the early bad to evil since they allow so much, sing about it, but are also employees with nowhere else to go. An additional good or grey area could go to the other grandparents. And i would give a good ranking to the guy that yelled to Charlie to run home after getting the golden ticket.
I'd put Oompa Loompas in the Gray Area. It's unclear how much control they really have over what happens. They're basically slaves, and you wouldn't hold slaves responsible for the crimes of their persecutors.
They DO sing about it, which is kinda messed up... but a dark sense of humor is likely necessary for them to get through this. Alternatively, given how much glee Wonka takes in their songs, he may even be forcing them to perform. He's a seriously sadistic man.
@@davidbjacobs3598 i can agree with that. With how calculated Wonka was, the possibility of Wonka forcing the oompa loompas to perform isn't much of a stretch. And whether it's fear of being thrown out with nowhere safe to go or worse, I definitely would believe that they have a lot to fear if they went against Wonka's orders. So yea, you've convinced me that grey area would be more accurate
Matpat made a video on the chocolate factory with the OWSHA (forgive me if I messed up the abbreviation) rules that were punt in place around the time the movie was released. If you don't know what OWSHA does, they inspect businesses to make sure they're following protocols for the health and safety of everyone who even enters the building and that nothing they sell could have terrible effects on the customers.

Homer Simpson: Grey
Richard Watterson: Bronze for Worst
Stan Smith: Silver for Worst
Peter Griffin: Gold for Worst
Please
I would say Ned Flanders is not that good in fact homer is ok with his kid following another god and not being like him Ned freaks out if his kids even think there maybe no god or do something that is a sin.
Is gumball good to evil next cause IVE BEEN WAITING FOR WEEKS
Good: Darwin.
Neutral: Gumball.
Evil: Mrs. Robinson.
I have to give credit to Wonka though. For being the most evil on this list, he somehow did pick out the best child to run his factory. Then again, you did make me rethink his intentions considering all the possible lawsuits that will come.
GRAVITY FALLS GOOD TO EVIL
please:)
Yes
He said it's being edited
Good soos gray Stan evil bill
I'd say Bill Sipher is the most evil character in Gravity Falls!
Boo
Can you do Mortal Kombat characters from good to evil.
So basically Willy Wonka made Charlie the official owner of the chocolate factory so that way Charlie will be held responsible for all the problems Willy Wonka caused, which I find very heartless and evil if you ask me.
that's one heck of a point :0
The KO thing with the candy man and the Kid was probably an accident by the actors.
Word Girl Characters Good to Evil
Violet is the only one to stand up to Veruca: “Can it, you nit!” I would rank her closer to the good spectrum for that.
Frankly you're just nitpicking and looking for trouble with the candy store owner.
What the hell are you talking about? Charlie's teacher shouldn't be on the Good category.
He has an obnoxious attitude as he has to acknowledge to both his students and especially Charlie that for a student to teach a teacher is presumptuous and rude, completely unaware that he's acting presumptuous and rude.
He's also a lousy teacher, as he let his students be dismissed so that he, and his students could find the Golden Tickets. Not to mention, when he was discussing percentages, he couldn't figure out what the percentage is from 2 out 1000, which is surprisingly easy (Just take the decimal near the number 2 and move it two spaces to the left. Which is .02%.).
Plus, maybe it wasn't intentional, but the teacher does have a tendency to pick and berate Charlie.
And more importantly....... He created Pop Quizzes......
Yu-Gi-Oh Dual Monsters Characters Good to Evil
Good request. I'd love to see that.
good: Tea, Yugi, Joey, Ryou
gray: kaiba, mokuba, atem
evil: marik, zorc/bakura
Grandma joe is suspicious but I think the grey area or maybe in 4th place in the good area because he did try to get Charlie into the factory by buying him the wonka bar.
I'm curious about how much this list would change in the Tim Burton version.
Me too
Augustas = Gluttony
Violet = Pride
Veruca = Greed/Envy
Mike = Sloth
