I'm working in making one only I'm using a clear trap and I'm going to punch many small holes in it for drainage
I'm just working on the tedious process of removing the old and peeling varnish so I can stain and seal it

won't the wax finish melt from being outside on your porch? Should you seal it with a product that is water, sun and UV protectant?

You could use coco fiber for hanging baskets .
