Thanks guys, with the last two crazy days, your video brings us a little sanity and a breath of fresh air, thank you
It's our pleasure 👍👍🇺🇲🇺🇲
Thank you fo rthe insight on that. Being another youTube woodworking channel, that has always been a concern. It is nice to know that you may be able to get corporate permission if you ask. LOL So much appreciated! Thank you for the awsome videos! 😀
Our pleasure, buddy!👍👍
I'd like to see some sawdust videos from lumber sales stores. ie woodcraft, etc.
That's a good idea. We've done some of those in the past, but it's been a while
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission.
Keep at it guys, love the channel.
Thanks man!
Frankly, I like everything that you do… Wherever you do it. Have a great day.
Hugs. ❤
Well thank you, Susan!❤️❤️
Amy is a godsend....great job organizing all the hardware! It's perfect to have everything at hands reach under the end of the workbench. Super use of space! It's a shame Home Depot wouldn't let you film. Maybe you could try talking to that store's manager? I've gone to Home Depot and other stores that you feature on your "field trips" to buy things you've shown at their store. I think it brings in customers for them. You're really getting your operation streamlined to produce tables! It's fantastic that you can leave the one saw set up for dado's. That will save a lot of time.
That bride of mine is amazing! She's redone every building on the property 😀
Nice job fellas. Tell Amy she did great as well. My wife organizes for me as well.
I love when she organizes!
Allgood .
I always like when your in the BigBox stores and give advice / explanations about choosing certain types of woods always so helpful. That how I learned to buy the Cedar fence pickets which I use for 90% of our projects gifts
Thanks man! We enjoy filming there as well, but I guess those days are done
you look awesome, hope your all well
Well thanks Dave!👍👍
Hey Ryan, just so you are aware of the tool jargon, that's called a blade insert not a blade guard but we knew what you were getting at 😁 just a little FYI
😂😂good looking out, buddy👍👍
I learned how to pick cedar planks from you UNHOMED DEPOT!!!! lol
Harbor Freight and Lowe’s here we come da da da da 🎶
😂😂 I do love Harbor Freight!
Corporate policy isn't equally enforced at all locations, apparently. Maybe it was because you did a full set up with tripod, etc. I bet most that fly under the radar are just using their phone, so it's not as obvious. I would definitely recommend asking to speak to the store manager and asking him to send the request up to corporate.
That's probably what we'll end up doing 👍
To be fair, i prefer to see videos from your workshop or places your work goes to, craft fairs etc, a shame as it is good advertising that they should be paying you for your time :D
We appreciate it, Paul👍👍
We'll have a video from Utah coming out soon. Hopefully
👍👍👍. Thanks Guys
Any time, Pete!
It must be a new policy since I've seen many other woodworking RUclipsrs film in Home Depot.
I think it's been around for a while. We just got caught haha
Hope mom is doing well
Mom's doing great!
Yeah , i know what you mean.. I work over night at Home Depot and I liked it at first, but now it sucks .. Too much stress , and vacation time gets denied and corporate just gives you shit …. First chance I get I’m quitting without a notice…!
Grandpa used to say that companies don't give you notice when they fire you, why should you give notice when you quit?
I kind of agree with that
I think if the big wigs at Home Depot see this, they will change their view on you making videos there, because it is free advertising.
I am loving everything you two have going on.....continuous training and informative videos. Boo on Harbor Freight......but I will still buy from them......I buy wood from Lowe's and tools from Home DePot.....and Harbor Freight has a great assortment of tools I didn't know I needed or wanted until I go shopping......and the Predator line of generators and invertors from Harbor Freight is the best.....I have 2 of their Predator 3500 inverters.......just logged 79 continuous hours on my newest 3500 unit while waiting on power to be restored from Hurricane Beryl.
The predator line is pretty awesome! We've used our 3500 for camping a lot and never had an issue with it
Y'all know you're always welcome to film in WWS 🎉
We just might have to take a quick road trip👍👍
I've been in marketing for a very long time, there is something critical that you need to understand about a company like The Home Depot. The reason behind their policy as it concerns filming in the stores is a matter of branding and their control over the brand message. The Home Depot brand was estimated in 2021 as having a value of $70.5 billion. one of the world's most valuable brands and the company is intent on protecting that value. The Home Depot in 2023 spent over $1.1 billion in marketing and advertising activities to get their brand message out to the public. A company like The Home Depot is not going to leave messaging of their brand left to chance that RUclipsrs, no matter how well meaning, will not do anything to erode their brand.
That makes sense👍
EZ E you're a smooth criminal...lol...🤘🤘🤘🤘
😂😂
I think you really meant to say...home cheapo! It's not as good as it used to be.
😂😂
I have the bauer cordless trim router.. do you have a kit for this, such as a base plate insert for engraving, router bits, and depth gauge?
I purchased there blank base plate for my bauer cordless and watched their video on how to install. It was very easy to do and a must have makes controlling the router so much easier, and purchased there depth guide I highly recommend there products.
Hey Brandon, here's a link to our starter kit. it's everything you need to get going. makeawoodsign.com/products/small-beginner-sign-carving-kit
Just put in the notes that you want the blank base for your router
Thanks Andrew👍👍👍
It's not a 'liability' situation. It's security. Seriously. People film in stores to get details how to rob the store. I would ask you to understand and comply with their wishes. You two won't rob the store, but someone watching your video can. It's really important to protect the safety of store employees and the integrity of the security system.
I can understand that, but it doesn't make it any less annoying HAHA
Wow.
Before filming at the Rhotens ... be sure to get approval from the head CAT there They apparently don't realize these corporations are actually getting free advertising from groups like you.
😂😂 I think they're scared to be called out if they do something bad for business
what' wrong with the arm ??? you went around the table and on the way back it was in a stationary position. just asking
😂😂 dude, I have all kinds of weird habits that I don't even notice until someone points them out. There's nothing wrong, I'm just a weirdo 👍👍
@@oldave100 Nice /was just asking. you guys are great and i am learning a lot from you guys...
Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
Yup!! Couldn't agree more👍👍
They just wanted you to stop highlighting their lumber from the enchanted twisted forest.
😂😂
I wouldn't worry about HD, what are the chances of you EVER finding an employee that can talk at HD again?
😂😂😂
Love it ,corporate sucks ! Lol
😂😂Yes sir!
That's odd with Home Depot, there are "bargain hunters" filming in there all of the time. A lot of popular RUclipsrs have a lot of views and actually help the stores with sales.
I know! It just doesn't make any sense to me🙄🙄
I’ve saved Ryan’s comment at 9:06 ha! Ha!
😂😂It works! Well, most of the time
I try to play stupid to the wife but it doesn’t work 🤷🏼♂️🤣🤣🤣
😂😂Just gotta practice more!
I can't really put any blame on Home Depot. Maybe I'm not as bold of a youtuber as you are, but I think it would be common courtesy to ask permission before filming in anyone's business, home, or workshop.
Well, we could've done that. But if we did we wouldn't have been able to film as many times as we did
Better to ask forgiveness than permission!
100% right!👍👍
e...F...g Home Depot.
👍👍
I agree with homedepot, they should have sought permission first - truth is with all the youtubers and non-sense your seeing, businesses do well to refuse videography within their businesses. These guys are above board but when you see other youtubers with the stupid pranks and other idiots, they ruin it for guys like these who produce reasonable content that people can actually enjoy.
That's actually a good point. The guys going out there doing stupid pranks are putting businesses at risk. I didn't even think of that.
no that is home depot for you i don't even deal with home depot again lowes only and harbor freight home depot was good before but they have hired a bunch of people that wants power
Honestly, the more we go there the more we like Lowe's
Wow, really. there are all kinds of people on youtube doing sale videos in home depot and lowes.
Yeah, that's what we were thinking
Yeah! I know of 4 RUclipsrs that video sales at Home Depot all the time…🤔
Lol ya home Depot soon be home base ..it's insurance claims they have .it's all inside theft get reed management .those people filming quik snapping pic send to an employee.....you guys great .c- ya depot ..( free advertising) . insurance......👍
👍👍
As far as we know, it may not be a corporate thing, but just an over zealous manager.
I thought so too. But then I read their policy
I do not see what the big deal is to film inside a Home Depot, it is not like you are trying to gain any of their trade secrets. What I would do is head to Lowe’s and talk to the manager and see how far you can film there.
I've been told some customers do not want to be inadvertently recorded, so the corporate types want to avoid potential liability from those customers.
That's pretty much the plan
I get that. We always try to stay conscious and respectful of that. But I'm sure not everyone is
Walk around an office with a clipboard, "taking notes." Nobody will bother you.
😂😂Never even thought of that!
They were arrogant - how about you?? RUclipsrs in the wild are so ridiculous.
I don't think they were arrogant at all. They just have a corporate mindset. Probably to the litigious world we live in. As for us being arrogant, I guess you would have to ask someone else. I know I am grateful for anyone that watches even 1 second of our content. I don't go in for the ridiculous videos much. More about having fun making sawdust and teaching other. Guess that's why we still have a small channel.😀
Yes, beg forgiveness. Don't ask for permission.
Absolutely!
I like HF better than HD anyway.
Me too
With knowing that information first why didn’t you send the email and wait for a response?
We didn't know it first. We'll try to send the email and see what happens
