Caleb Williams Is The Future Of The NFL.

- Caleb Williams has risen to the top of college football, and he’s already one of the best prospects I’ve ever scouted. Williams has a Heisman trophy under his belt after just his first full season, and when looking at him through an NFL lens, he’s going to tear up the league. He has rare traits that will immediately translate to produce big time numbers at the next level, so the questions raised: what are those traits? And why is he such a special prospect? This week’s episode uses the all-22 coaches film to analyze USC Trojan’s Quarterback Caleb Williams.

Who is your comp for Caleb Williams? Mine is Kyler Murray if he could see, and had good footwork, but a little slower
Zach Wilson. Future Hall of Fame 👍🏿
John Elway
Man😂😂
Agree with all the physical traits comps there. My issue is that he gives off Kyler Murray personality vibes.
I don’t think he’ll ever be as good as Mahomes, but he’s a very similar player skillset wise.
I remember the day Rattler got pulled for Williams. I wasn’t watching the game, but I saw most sports networks picking the story up, and I never understood it because I was a big Rattler guy.
Didn’t take me long to realize Williams was just on another level. The plays he made at Oklahoma were nice, but he’s just leapt to another level at USC. I see Caleb Williams as Patrick Mahomes, but if we never saw Patrick Mahomes referred to as a “project QB.” Can’t wait to see Williams in the league.
I remember when Rattler was considered the Heisman favorite
Honestly we can never truly say a prospect is a can't miss but guys like him sure can make the claim. And he does have so far a decent amount of starts he started in his freshman year a few games. He's very very intriguing
Attitude issues perhaps - and height. And yeah, I am nitpicking ;)
@alfarabi73 yup lol 😆 I don't know what team your a fan of but hopefully you get him unless you have one of the elite guys now
@@alfarabi73 height? he’s 6’1
@@sickerr small for nfl qb thats the same height as tua
@@sickerr 6-1 is a bit on the short side. The prototype is 6-4 or 6-5; and teams generally prefer 6-3 or taller. Just go through every starting QBs in the NFL and check their height. There aren't many 6-1 or shorter. In fact, the video does mention it as a potential disadvantage for Williams.
"Hits him right in the beaver" lol
Watching him dodge and weave in the pocket makes me think so much of Aaron Rodgers in his prime because he can also move outside the pocket
I love it, that's a great comp
Caleb is a gonna be a mediocre qb in the NFL just like all the rest of the former USC QBs. Caleb will only pan out at the college level.
@@legendaryTMNICO😂😂😂😂😂 Stop hating on the kid he's a Generational type QB he's the best QB USC has ever had
10:00 "The best quarterback I have ever scouted" Wow... unreal praise for an unreal player
He's really THAT good, he's insane
If everyone's already hyped up for Bryce Young this year, imagine the noise when this guy comes out next year.
This could change over the next year, but I got Bryce Young as the better prospect right now. Young can extend plays and make throws on the run like Williams can but I have yet to see Williams run the quick read kind of play consistently where its 1 or 3 steps and fire with the absolute precision Young does. The only thing stopping Young from being an all-timer type prospect is his size which doesnt effect his game at all.
Young rn is a better passer than Caleb.
Caleb is the same age as Young N CJ he look cool n college but he not better than BY or Cj he older than AR 😂
caleb wins a championship at bama these past 2 years lol bryce wish he had caleb arm talent
@@Agendasss You dont know that. All hes done is torch sorry ass pac 10 defenses. SEC is a completely different animal.
As a high school freshman i attended a 7 on 7 camp with my high school team and Williams was there. Still the best high school QB I’ve ever seen. I think his own receivers were scared to catch his ball because of how fast the threw it.
Dude he was nearly taking the fingers off his guys 20 yards down the field
Isn't that a *bad* thing? This was Osweiler's problem
Wow!
In high school maybe but pro receivers won’t really struggle with that
this is by far the best football analysis channel on youtube
Thanks Jenna!
Wow, that's pretty impressive! Can't wait to see what this young man continues to do! Thanks as always Alex!
Thanks Moises!!
I've never been a "tanking" guy. I was always about compete compete compete. But damn, if I was a GM of an NFL team, I would tank for Caleb. That dude is a magician in the pocket. Love watching that guy play.
Raiders fan here...hoping for a tank!
Hoping the Pats tank lmfao
If I was building a modern quarterback from scratch Williams is that guy
Thanks for a great lesson, the way he zips his throw in tight windows and like you point out, he does stay in the pocket as default unlike many running QBs even when he escapes his eyes are still down the field finding open player, how he throws across his body while running is just raw talent; watching him is like watching football in matrix
"reads and seeds" should be the name of a QB scouting show
Let's host it you and me Dex?
@@AlexRollinsNFL I'm so down. You can be the brains, I'll be the comic relief
Missed the over ball route at 8:50 cause he lost the backer, 48 got behind the ref. He didn’t trust his read, that’s why he’s peaking. Used to happen to me as a shorter Q
Bro you dont know the play call or the progression shutup 😂😂
Peeking* Dumb dumb.
This dude is legit.
A perfect combo of P.Mahomes and L.Jackson which is bloody scary… can’t wait to see him against 49ers or Cowboys defense
Excellent video... hopefully he wins a meaningful game next year so he won't feel compelled to stay another year. Some people who win the Heisman also want a natty but idk on that team.
Thanks Jubei! I don't think there's any way he stays two more years honestly, he knows what his standing is already in the NFL
All 11 of the Ws were meaningful 😉
Saw him play 4 home games last season for USC. Maybe I'm a bit biased as a fan, but I've never seen better QB play live in person. The way he breaks down defenses, adjusts on the fly, throws to a particular spot, throws off balance, throws on the run, and just runs the ball - period - he's the prototype for what you look for in the modern day QB. I hope he doesn't go to the Rams or Cardinals next season in the draft. As a Niner fan, I'd hate to have to play him twice a year for as long as he'd be with either team.
Come home Caleb! Commanders would love to have you next year!
so he can rot with that sorry ass team? fuck no
Will be the #1 pick in the draft
Great analysis and great video thank you sir!
Thanks Jay!
thanks for making these videos, it really helps me to better understand the more in detail aspects of football
That's the goal, glad you like them!!
He'll be the first back 2 back heisman since archie griffin
I agree!
Very good breakdown of his weaknesses. He’s really gonna have to study some Drew Brees film because of his height. He truly can’t see small backs in the middle of the field under 5 yrds because offensive and defensive line hinders his vision to see the open running back due to his height. He probably won’t have to make that play too often but it’s obvious he can’t see it.Hes still a future NFL stud..Great job articulating your thoughts.Oh yea he didn’t have an easy final year but again great job.
Alex drop and it’s a GREAT DAY
Thank you bro!
Looks great in those colors...Commanders!
I think that if Feilds does not get good Numbers , that the Bears should draft Caleb Williams . They might get the #1 overall pick if the Panthers suck next year lol. I think he is going to be a top #5 QB in the NFL
You sure got this prediction right, now go play the lottery because the Bears pick #1
Skillset is a copy of Mahomes. Not saying he'll be the #1 QB in the NFL right away, but he's incredibly talented
Be interesting to see where he lands in the NFL
DA BEARS
Cmon Dallas! Let’s try to get this guy next year
boys these next 20 years gonna be pretty fun
The level of talent coming out just keeps getting better Ed
If the Raiders are smart, they will do everything in their abilities to tank for Caleb Williams this year.
Josh McDaniels is not that smart
Banking on Jimmy G to get injured? Safe bet
Idk if anybody really tanks, is the issue. The front office, coaches, players all get fired if they lose, I don't think anybody is every on board with it
Maybe the Ravens, too?
I hope they win 10 games. Can’t have Caleb’s career ruined from the jump
The only negatives Caleb has as a prospect is his lack of commanding the offense. Not his fault. That’s just the nature of being in Lincoln Riley’s offense. That is the one advantage that someone like Bryce Young has over him. Other than that, I don’t really have much else in terms of negatives against him
Sometimes he holds the ball too much and needs to either run or throw it away. I’m sure he will change that and get better at it
@@sickerr He trusts his playmaking ability too much. Not knowing when to just throw the ball away was a problem in the beginning of the season. He actually ran out of bounds for negative yards a couple times instead of just throwing it away. Got better by the end of the season tho
@@nicksin7902 agreed. Hopefully he learns to fix that cuz in the NFL u gotta take what’s given to u. Can’t always make something outta nothing
Dude has the pocket presence of Prime Aaron Rodgers
Hope the dude goes to the right team. Would hate for him to end up like Andrew Luck.
With the 1st pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams select…
I've seen some awesome Pac-10/12 and Notre Dame QB's LIVE at the L.A. Coliseum and the Rose Bowl over the years from Drew Bledsoe, Aaron Rodgers, Troy Aikman, Rodney Peete, Todd Marinovich, Rob Johnson, Tony Rice, Rick Mirer, Brady Quinn, Andrew Luck, Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart, Joey Harrington, Cade McNown, and Sam Darnold (to name a few)....Caleb Williams is on a DIFFERENT LEVEL...watching him on TV does NOT do justice as to his speed and velocity when throwing the ball. Period.
As a bears fan I am so incredibly torn. I personally think Fields could be an MVP level QB if he had a coach that called plays to his strengths and an offensive line that could give him a clear pocket for more than 1.7 seconds. His decision making can be inconsistent but when he’s on he’s GOOD. Possibly the fastest, most athletic QB of all time. I fear we’ll get rid of him, draft Caleb and suck while watch fields dominate elsewhere. I want MHJ, a better line and a SOLID defensive lineman/end. I genuinely believe they could win a Super Bowl with a good offense and the current defense plus a piece or two. Caleb looks great tho too. Just not nearly as fast or durable.
I don’t see durability as an issue. Justin has actually had durability issues unlike Caleb.
Fields hasn’t played a full season, and hasn’t passed for 3k yards
Bears fans are so afraid of trying for greatness that they want to settle for mediocrity. I hate Bears fans, why must we cheer for the same team?
I think he’s one of the most gifted quarterbacks of the past 15 years, but the fact that he plays in a Lincoln Riley offense concerns me a bit. Mayfield’s a bust, Murray’s okay but often injured and has maturity issues, and Hurts only played in that offense for one year after playing in a pro style offense with Kiffin and Daboll. Outside of Hurts, Riley’s track record isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. I do think that Williams has a lot of intangibles that cover up the flaws in Riley’s system, but it’s something to note.
Baker isn’t a bust lol he got drafted by the Browns. A trash franchise like the Jets that hurts your development at the qb position
It’s because his offense is QB friendly and doesn’t prepare you for the league but it does win games
his celling is like an athletic Aaron Rodgers
I wonder if the Bears move on from Fields and they have the #1 draft pick, is Williams good enough to rise in the NFL even with Chicago's incompetent coaching staff
There will be a new coaching staff at this point.
Mannn the 2024 QB Class should be a good one
Wait wait - ayo Alex , at the end of the vid, you say “the best QB I’ve ever scouted” - is that fr or you just gassin him??!!
Yeah, I want to dive into Maye at some point, he looks promising too. Burrow is a close 2nd, his tape was unbelievable, but yes, Caleb is really that guy for me
So he’s basically a bigger Bryce young😭😭wit +5 throw power
I strongly hesitate to draft any QB from Ohio State or USC.
He'll change your mind, Caleb is just different.

Yeah he's 21
@@AlexRollinsNFLdang really thought he was born in 2002, he was a freshman in 2021. And didn’t play senior year of high school in 2020 due to the pandemic.
I can tell he's chomping at the bit to get started this season. C
You don’t “iron out the kinks” in college. That’s something you do in the NFL as it’s an entirely different game. It’s hard to say a guy will be good just because he dominates in college. Seen this movie to many times.
That being said I am a fan of the guy and want to see him succeed at the next level but that story is yet to be written and I think that’s hard for most football fans to understand.
Imagine the best defensive lineman you’ve ever played against in your entire career, every week and there are 4 of them. The best corner you ever played, on both sides, every week. The smartest and most unhumanly athletic linebackers and safeties, every single week. And they all have film on you and work ways to expose the few things you’re not good at and force you to play their game, yet you have to elevate your game and play chess to win, regardless of your physical talents. That’s the NFL.
No one can watch a guy play in college and know what he’s gonna be in the NFL. We have to wait and see him play in the NFL and give him opportunity to evolve to really know if he’s going to be good.
USC QBs have been all hype since Carson Palmer
hope he does get drafted into the NFCW
Happy April 1st, everyone!
He’ll be a Tampa Bay Buccaneer. I hope 😢😂😂
As a ravens fan i hope the stealers dont get this guy. He is perfect for their oline. They would be deadly.
How good is Maye - relative to Williams and this draft's crop of QBs?
I’d say maye and Williams are 1.A and 1.B
Maye is good, but not Caleb good. Williams has the potential to change the balance of power in a given division on Day 1. True Joe Burrow-style impact on Day 1. Maye should be good. Don't get me wrong, Drake Maye has some GREAT arm talent. But Caleb Williams has the best arm talent of the last half decade, AND has a polished game inside and outside the pocket, AND runs a 4.6. Plus, anyone who can process Lincoln Riley's offense is clearly geared to learn an NFL offense. Even Baker's strength is understanding complex concepts from playbook to field. He just doesn't have the arm to convert. Williams does.
Think Kyler, but taller and without being saddled with one of the worst NFL coaches in recent memory.
If my rams tank this year, we're drafting him next season 😤
Unfortunately the Rams aren’t going to get a 1st round pick for awhile.
@@Hedquarters they have a first round pick next year
@@Hedquarters We get our first rounder next year after 7 years.
are gonna make video about marvin harrison jr,drake maye or brock bowers ?
That will all have to wait til next year
Amazing talent but I have some reservations. I know its the scheme that asks him to extend plays while guys get open, but you cant ask a qb to do that regularly in the NFL. if youre holding the ball for 3 seconds or more in the NFL, you're gonna get hit. I need to see more quick timing precision plays that are common in the NFL. Bryce Young can do both with unbelievable precision which is why I consider him the better prospect right now. We'll see where Williams is at a year from now.
Did u not watch the video? He extends time in the pocket... and then makes quick reads. Also his footwork is significantly better than Bryce's and his frame is bigger as well. Bryce does process better but they're both incredibly accurate. There would be no doubt that Williams would be QB1 this draft
@@garretthah8070 Your reading comprehension skills need some work.
People love to crown the next best thing but I remember people talking about Rattler going #1 and Sam Howell going #2 and Rattler is still in college and Howell was taken in the 5th round.
Not saying that will for sure happen, but let's wait and see

Plays a lot like Mahomes. I think Bryce Young is probably a better pure football player than CW but won’t be considered as good of a prospect because he’s 190
Young doesn’t have this kind of talent.
do drake maye next
Caleb is not that great
He is college good

If the future cries a lot he is.
What does Top 5 Arm Talent mean exactly? Is it synonymous with arm strength, or arm strength+arm angles, or something else?
Arm talent means a combination of things but pretty much what you jus said strength of the arm , angles you arm can contort to , arm explosiveness/velocity
Arm strength and accuracy
Arm strength has a lot to do with arm talent, but it's not everything. Arm strength is your ability to make the right throw in the right situation with the right velocity. If you're trying to loft a soft crosser over the linebacker, if you only have arm strength, you're gonna throw it into the third deck
He's a product of the Lincoln Riley system what's the difference between Williams and Kyler Murray besides height.
If you ignore the physical metrics, and just focus on their abilities, do you think he's that much better than Bryce Young?
That's my whole issue with the BY though. Bryce is much better from a mental perspective, at least on tape. Alabama's offense allows him to showcase that too though, so it's harder to analyze with Caleb cause they limit his handle on the offense
Kinda reminds me of patty mahomes. But h in think my boy Kenny Pickett will be better in his 2nd year
I have my doubts about QB's under riley's system becoming anything in the NFL other than diva's who think they're the best thing since sliced bread yet continually underperform. The only QB who violates this trend is hurts and I attribute that to his 3 years at bama.

Some people see Bijan Robinson as the best player they've ever scouted. Some saw Trevor Lawrence as that. Aaron was a beast but very few people believed he would be as dominant as he is now.
Aaron Donald probably. His game VS Georgia Tech summed up how good he was.
@@Fau1ted I know I was being a smartass lol. That being said, I was screaming it from the rooftops even back then that Donald should be the #1 pick. A lot of people laughed at me but I was right. I guess the blind squirrel find a nut once in a while lmfao
@@YardratZ What really stood out to me was the combination of elite first step and crazy power. Guys usually have 1 or the other, not both. Guys like Derrick Thomas and Laurence Taylor had the elite step whereas guys like Reggie White or Bruce Smith had the power. Donald had both. Maybe im just crazy but he was easily the most cant miss prospect Ive seen in my 35+ years on this earth.
Edit: one last thing: Donald had 11 sacks and 28 tackles for loss his senior year. He spent more time in opposing backfields than the offense did lmfao. All the signs were there but everyone got too caught up in prototypes.

He's very good but his style will get him hurt on the NFL level. He's a player that can elevate a team but they will depend heavily on him to win games. He will have to put himself into harms way too often. He needs to go to a team with a quarterback guru coach. Then he could possibly play more like a traditional quarterback and use his legs when he needs to and not every other play.
How's that working for mahomes?
@@bomigaruba4433 Mahomes runs when he needs to but he also plays a style that can get him hurt.
