Those losses not on Caleb. Defense was piss poor. Bears have a top 10 defense. But Bears have the same o-line problem as USC. They absolutely need to add a WR and address the o-line. They need to bring in 2 o-line in free agency and draft 2 more in the draft

Bears Defense was really bad for the first half of the season yet some Bear fans still blame Fields.

I don’t know, he has skills, it is clear, but with trading the #1 pick and getting more #1s and other draft capital or players in the trade, Poles can still draft a QB (maybe Jayden Daniels) with one of his other picks! I mean, Brock Purdy is proof that you don’t need a #1 pick QB to get to the SB and Brady is proof late round picks can be the greatest champs ever. Poles loves options and if he sells out the team for a “saviour” in Caleb, I think he’ll be fired within a couple disastrous seasons.

Will the Bears take him? He could do worse. Look at the situation Bryce young went into, no defense, no offensive line, no # 1 WR, and he has struggled and looked bad. The Bears have a top 10 defense, a top 5 rushing attack, a # 1 WR in DJ Moore and are likely to pick another elite WR with their # 9 overall pick. That's a pretty good situation for a # 1 overall pick to go into.

Bears are building a team so any QB will succeed. You do that by drafting OL in the 1st round, having good WRs & a defense to keep the score close. We're 1 draft away from being a complete team & completing the rebuild. They won't throw that away on a good looking QB who wasn't won 1 big game yet with leadership concerns. I've seen JF make those deep throws too, ncaa & nfl. If Caleb didn't hold onto ball so long in pocket & was getting the short, medium throws quickly, I'd take him. But I haven't seen that on any tape. The team loves & fights for JF , Caleb's team implied he's for himself, which won't be allowed with Poles when you already have a good leader. Getting MHJ is the safer & LT J.Alt is the better team move here.

Throws a great deep ball, tho not enough to be compared to Burrow, Luck, Manning. Bears stay with JF1, get him that second #1 WR option & top LT with those 2 picks in top 10. Can get him his center in round 2, plus 2 picks in the 3rd = a lot of talent around him. Plus 2 1st round picks next season if you truly need to draft a QB in 2025.
Same was said last year. If things don't work out draft a QB in 2024.
