@Spell-Check for Dumb People 🤦🤣 Andy Reid took over a 3 win Eagles team and won 5 games in his first year. Campbell took over a 5 win Lions team and won 3 games his first year.
Dan Campbell also took over an 8-8 Dolphins team and went 5-7 with them. The following year Adam Gase took that same team to 10 wins.

This is the advantage that player-turned-coaches like Mike Vrabel (former LB) and Dan Campbell (former TE) can bring to the table that other coaches cannot: a more hands-on approach to coaching. They may have retired, but years of grind does not simply go away in an instant barring a life-changing event.
Bill Belichick, Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan, Mike Tomlin, Matt Lafleur, Andy Reid, John Harbaugh, Pete Carroll, Mike Mccarthy, Bruce Arians and Zac Taylor never played in the nfl.... Sean Payton and Sean MCDermott made the nfl but never actually played.

@@Phil-S8 let's see, my list has 13 current head coaches on it (technically only 11 current because Arians moved to the front office and Payton retired) and 11 of them have been to the super bowl with 9 of them winning at least one. The o.p's list has 2 coaches on it, only one has had a winning record and neither has been to a super bowl... again, which list is better?
This isn't a difficult concept. Go look at the last 2 decades of successful head coaches in the nfl, almost none were nfl players and the few that did play in the nfl were scrubs who barely saw the field and only played for a short time. This idea that Campbell and Vrabel have an advantage because they played in the nfl is supported by absolutely nothing at all. It's an utterly ignorant opinion.

If 95% of head coaches have never played in the NFL, then there is a way higher likelihood of getting successful hits out of this pool. @@AdamB34 Not really, Sell tickets and hope with players like Sanders and Johnson .Nothing else around them talent except maybe they pick up a few players that were good at the end of their careers that get hurt and set on the injured reserve.Stafford sold a lot of hope ,but he lost more games with his mistakes then he won. The fans buy what Ford is selling hope.Reason why Sanders and Johnson both quit!
So much respect for this man. The way he associates himself with his players he truly cares and has alot of heart and its speaking volumes with the results he's getting out of them. That's how you build a culture thank you dan campbell I've taken a play out of your coaching playbook towards my team of workers who work for me and with me and it's changed the culture and work ethic of all my teammates. Keep up the great job you are truly what this team needed the whole time. We as fans truly appreciate you.
I love this. I love being a Detroit Lions fan. I've been a lions fan my entire life, starting when Billy Simms was the RB. From everything I've seen, Dan Campbell is the best coach Detroit has ever had. The lions are a championship team. They're winners! The Roar has been restored!

Effort will show by itself. weather a game or practice if they are not giving it %100 when he is not looking, it will show.
He doesn’t need to watch the others and make sure they are putting in effort. He leads from the front, knowing they will want to put in effort when they see him. That’s the difference that Dan understands.
Props to him for even attempting this, better yet completing it. Unfortunately for his wife, she gets to hear him complain how sore and tired he is the next 3 days🤣

Usually a HC is just walking around watching the players. But when those players see the HC doing it with them? You don't slack off if your coach is putting in the same effort as you.
